with the details. good morning. >> good morning. the middle class will see the bigge esgest benefit. democrats say it's the opposite. there will be lots of compromise to get this plan through. >> tax cuts, if we get this through, and i think you will, you're going to see this economy take off like a rocket ship. >> president trump on fox news called the tax overhaul the biggest tax cut of our country. >> the middle class is a big ben feshry and companies are. >> they would slash the individual brackets from 7% to 4%. it would only apply to households making a million or more. the median household making $60,000 would see its rate drop from 15% to 12%. and double the standard deu for

$12,000 to individuals and $24,000 for couples. a typical family of four will save $1,182 a year. >> that covers about a year's worth of gas for your carom it covers your family's phone bill for the year. >> the democrats indicate it hurts those in high-tax states like california and new york. >> what they won't tell you is that many, many, many middle-class families soo their taxes go up under this plan. >> some of the other changes in the plan, growing the child tax credit from 1,000 a year to $1,600. the bill will need the backing of nearly every republican to pass. the plan would also cut the corporate tax rate from 35% to 20% and eliminates the deductions for student loans and medical benefits. >> jashd kushner turned over his

documents to robert mierl. meanwhile mueller's grand jury is investigating an influence campaign on behalf of ukrainian influences tied to former chair paul manner a fort. in particular they're investigating lobbyist tony podesta. the senate democrats want to question attorney general jeff sessions again. sesions denies that he knew anything, but according to court documents, he was at a meeting where trump campaign adviser george papadopoulos discussed a possible meeting with president vladimir putin. this morning leaders are reacti reacting. former dnc interim chairwoman donna brazile accuses the clinton campaign of taking control of the committee in exchange for funding to keep the committee financial aafloat.

brazil says the clinton campaign influenced finances and strategy. she claims the deal showed favor timm over bernie sanders. he and his supporters insisted it was biased against him. a vigil and memorial walk was held for victims of the new york city truck attack. the vigil started on the bike path where it began. one was a young mother from belgium and two were americans. earlier new york city officials put up additional concrete barriers along where the attack took place. the suspect sayfullo saipov should get the death penalty. michelle miller has more. >> reporter: this is the moment terrorist suspect sayfullo saipov was captured by police. this cell phone video is right

after he was shot by officer ryan nash as he tried to use a truck to drive down a west side truck packet. he drove for a mile, killing eight, before crashing into a school bus. police found knives and notes inside praising isis. and according to court documents, recovered two cell phones. authorities trakd the numbers on the phones and have linked them to sympathizers of a radical cause already on new york police radar. police say saipov made some of those numbers the day of the attack. >> there's no point in thinking about the what-ifs. >> reporter: five days before damian and his girlfriend were inside saipov's uber car for an hour. he picked them up at the airport. >> you don't know anything about

a person in an hour but you get a feeling and there was nothing. >> mukhammadzoir kadirov has now retained a lawyer and is said to be questioned on friday. michelle miller, cbs news, new york. we're learning more about the deadly walmart attack. police arrested scott ostream about five miles from the walmart. his boss said he quit his roofing job hours before the attack. police have jet to determine a motive for the shooting. bashir wants armed drones near mali. that's where four americans were killed by million tanlts last monument we're learning more about the ambush. debora patta went to the a ambush site. >> reporter: the village of

tongo tongo is so remote they had trouble finding the road to get there. this is where 12 americans and 13 militant soldiers stopped get supply. he was so nervous, he went 25 miles to speak to us at another location. we thought if it's just a few terrorists the soldiers can kill them easily, but we didn't know there was so many more waiting nearby. it was a trap. once they lured them away the numbers multipliechltd suddenly they were under attack. you can see the bullet casing left over from the intense shooting. the burned out school, bloodsta bloodstained boxes. there were 60 attackers.

the fighting lasted over two hours. when it was over, he said he saw the bodies of three american soldiers slumped near their vehicle. all three were stripped of their uniforms. but it would be two days before children from the village discovered the fourth body of sergeant la david johnson about half a mile away. it's still not clear how johnson got separated from the rest. this soldier would only talk if we concealed his identity. he'd been stripped of his uniform, he told us. his hands were tied and they shot him in the head. the pentagon would not comment. there is still some confusion why this american team had their mission extended and what exactly their assignment was, but either way it meant they camped out overnight in dangerous territory, and that might have led the extremists to where they were.

and new york have opened new investigations into harvey weinste weinstein. jericka duncan has new details about rape allegations against the hollywood local. >> reporter: she said he offered to give her a ride home because the two live in the same neighborhood. she said he insisted the two have drink. she says he took off her dress and forced himself on her. she said weinstein kept calling her. on december 23rd of the same year, weinstein showed up in the lobby of her apartment and they went up stairs and she says he raped her a second time. she's been in numerous shows and stars in boardwalk's "empire."
