12:08 pm
obviously, although again you might see few flakes mix in the in the poconos, but it is that raw, chilly rain, so, if you have yet to go out to the polling place or do anything else outside you will at this point i would say be smart to walk out the door with a umbrella. with periods of rain coming through specially true for the southern half of our region, some of that rain will in fact be heavy, i'll have more on the timing of this and also the cool down that we're looking ahead to that's a little later in the show. guys? >> katie, see you soon, thank you. the pentigon investigating why information about a past conviction for the texas church shooter never made it to the f.b.i. offer other authorities. that error allowing dollars to purchase, that killed 26 people. documents show devon on kelly pleaded guilty to striking, choking, kicking and pulling the hair of his wife on two separate occasions, he also pleaded guilty to hitting his young stepson's head so hard it would quote likely produce death or grieve is bodily harm >> he was convicted, should have stopped him from getting a gun. he should not have had a gun because, one, the maximum

12:15 pm
12:16 pm
>> jim and i was wondering, 15 minutes, walk home. >> got a boat. >> that, too. >> yes, if you've got anything else going on outside today it would absolutely and smart move to have some kind of rain gear ready to go, especially, so excited about the forecast. it look like pretty soggy, quiet over there. all right, let me get you right outside. because yes, we do have some wet weather to talk about.
12:17 pm
also, particularly jazzed into the weather department because snow is currently verifying across part of pa. not here locally. not just yet. but it is possible even in the poconos we see a little bit of snowflakes mixing in. out to the maps, we start things off with the loop on storm scan3. this is disturbance working it way east, yes, some umf to it, quite a bit of moisture content. in the too that speckle of purple that shows up in the wider zoom. snow verifying, what i love about this particular image, though, is that you see these streaks, they almost look like little fingers or clause coming through the radar. those are the mountain tops of laurel highlands, real interesting. you can see where you have the higher elevations supporting the colds enough air to get that snow to fall. and state college, altoona have in fact now seen their first official snowfall, so far this season. just couple of places of many that have gun to see that. going further out to see it, but here locally primarily rain event.
12:18 pm
but what a rain event. chilly, raw rain, too, because temperatures will not rebounds much past 50 here today. so this takes you out to 1:00 p.m. now, most of us will be dealing with rain, some of it quite heavy, and this particular model bridges the leading edge of the heaviest rain little further north than anticipated so it is possible even the southern branch of lehigh county getting clipped with some soaking rain here. this is going to be a mess of an evening drive. and in addition, again, there you go, may just be cold enough that you see a little snow mix in far north and west counties, carbon, monroe, poke necessary in gent, but not going to have a chance to stick let alone accumulate. by 10:00 p.m., this is still out there. so kate will still have something to track even in the late news here tonight, by 11:00. and even though it is a gradual tapering, at least it is in fact going to taper as the evening progresses and through the overnight. now the heaviest of the rain definitely falls from philly on south. that's more likely to end up with at least a inch, give or take, probably half inch to an inch worth in the city but little bit more the further
12:19 pm
south you travel. lehigh valley and poconos probably under a half inch, by the time it is all said and done. but we have to deal with t meanwhile talk tropics. recall we had system yesterday , tropical depression 19, that has now in fact turned into tropical storm rena. and thankfully it is no threat to land or property. staying well out to sea, but it certainly is worth a mention since it is just a reminder, that hurricane season isn't over yet. until 2:00 p.m. today also coastal flood advisory to tell but, last high tide between 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. still trying to recede. thankfully the rain isn't exacerbating it yet but could be problem leading to minor closures out around the coastal towns along the jersey i shore line, sussex county. do have chill in the air as i mentioned, it is upwards of 20 plus degrees colder right now than it was this same time yesterday. as that translate to the thermometer, only still even at high noon at 35 degrees, in mount pocono this hour. flirting with 50, and flirting with the expected high in philly right now, also getting little breezy too.
12:20 pm
so this again is the best word i can use to describe the rest of the day is raw, chilly with the rain coming down, and pounding down in some cases cents, through the rest of the afternoon. but look what happens here. our normal highs is about 59 degrees. so we don't even hit that through the next seven days. finally cool air consistency. but it might as well be mid- december, guys, come friday, saturday. forty-five, 46 apiece piece respectfully here, even the friday the brightest day with sunshine, sure won't feel the warmest. >> all right. thank you. >> we have been spoiled. >> we have. >> all right, well, a company that's hoping to change lives, one employee at a time. >> here's meisha with today's love it. meisha? >> as the nation's opioid epidemic continues, some finds it difficult to fire an employer willing to give second chances, one company in west virginia northern panhandle however does. and they're getting excited to share their message with us chamber of commerce soon. here. >> inside production at this company, not just making
