officer has won awards for cleaning up the streets of new jersey making arrests for drug possession, this oh production la medication was made for him last year. >> as chief of police, i was ecstatic >> officer did an interview with the tv station in houston where he talked about the lengths he would go to help someone get into rehab. authorities now say what officer mcwayne didn't mention is that he may have been setting people up and profiting off those arrests. >> here's a guy bringing in all these drug arrests every month. and you're sitting there going my god, this guy is phenomenonal and you find out it's not what it appears to be >> chief samuel desystem moan said in april, body camera footage of officer mcwayne came to his attention, it led to a six-month investigation that authorities are believing the officer was somehow convincing people to hang out with him and bring drugs >> acting like he's not an

officer, like he's somebody else >> officer mc wayne would show up and convince the person to go to rehab, not necessarily because he cared about the well-being but allegedly because it was a scheme to funnel people into a drug rehab center that officer mc wayne had a financial stake in. >> i worry that the people of west deptford or gloucester county or all of south jersey think that that's how everybody is here in west deptford and there's no. >> reporter: officer mcwayne has been suspended without pay, he face as slew of charges include official misconduct, tampering with evidence and falsifying reports. sources say this investigation is still very much an ongoing one. officer mcwayne could face more charges. live in west deptford, alicia nieves, cbs3 "eyewitness news." federal authorities have gun the investigation into the small plane crash that claimed the life of former phillies star pitcher roy halladay. fans continue to grief following the loss. david spunt is at citizens bank

park tonight where a memorial to doc halladay is growing. >> reporter: ukee, a lot of emotions i saw about 12 emotional fans show up to this memorial behind me. you can see number 34 right there, a lot of people saying the doctor is in with a win front of it. the doctor is win. but tonight the big focus is on the plane that he was flying. cbs news is reporting the ceo of that manufacturer is recommending that pilots fly 200 feet below the faa regulation. this chilling video shows roy halladay flying dangerously low moments before he was killed. the video obtained by tmz sports shows halladay in his icon a5, a sport aircraft to new less than two dozen exist >> it's a perfect setup for a water landing. >> philadelphia aviation attorney and pilot arthur walt nearly five decades in the

cockpit. witnesses say halladay made unusual movements with the plane. the specific plane is a unique design and several crashes were reported since the roll-out two years ago. >> it's a high energy impact. it's about all i can say at this time. >> reporter: icon proudly used halladay in its marketing campaign. the company markets an a 5 as easy to fly, can land on water. the cockpit assembles that of an automobile. this is the third just this year. in may, icon's chief test pilot was killed in an a 5, form ntsb sees red flags. in a statement, icon said company officials are devastated over the death and will do everything to help support the accident investigation going forward. now, authorities will take a hard look at this video after all it may be the only clue as to what specifically happened to roy halladay.

>> our coverage of the plane crash continues. get the latest at any time at cbsphilly.com. >> we're learning more about the shooting of a pennsylvania at any rate trooper during a traffic stop. the gunman, 22-year-old daniel clary was shot after fighting with troopers, he's in the hospital and was reigned through his hospital bed. this bail set at a million. he faces criminal attempted murder. his family was belligerent with joe holden. seth kelly remains hospitalized in critical condition after being shot multiple times >> he carries a tourniquet on his belt, and he was able to have the wherewithal to pull that tourniquet off his belt and apply that to one of his wounds. more than likely saving his own life. >> the other trooper on scene, ryan suffered minor injuries. a teenager accused of shooting a camden police officer

told his side of the story today. he faced officer patrick o'hanlon who came to court in a wheelchair. may had an admitted to running from police and carrying a loaded gun wednesday be but he says officer o'hanlon grabbed the gun and inadvertently shot himself in the leg. the officer's father spoke after may han was denied bail. he said his son was determined to attend the hearing. >> just to show that he's still, you know, he's a tough kid and it won't deter him. >> the support he's getting. coming back by showing up. authorities say may han attempted to shoot officer o'hanlon in the face bus misfired. a former boston news act core comes forward. heather unru said spacey assaulted her 18-year-old son last july: she claims he got

her son drunk and touched him inappropriately >> i want to say this. shame on you for what you did to my son. he did not report the crime at the time. and that was largely because of embarrassment and fear. >> spacey lost another job. producers are replacing him. the rapper known as malik mill is behind bars. his real name is robert williams was sentenced two to four years behind bars for violating his probation. >> vice president pence comforted survivors of the church shooting. the vice president spent the day in southerland springs, he hugged survivors and the family members of the 26 killed sunday. the vice president visited the scene of the shooting and shook hands of two heros who tried to stop the gunman. ten are in critical condition.

president trump continues to receive an elaborate welcome on his visit to china. the president treated him to grand display of hospitality. the ceremony opened a day of meetings and the two leaders are expected to discuss tensions over trade and north korea's nuclear program. they said they have the capacity to solve world problems "eyewitness news" goes where no news cameras have gone before >> we were granted access inside the gates of limerick power plant. a tour of the facility to show you how things work and to show you how the future of the plant could be in jeopardy >> it's a quiet night outside. it's chilly, but it's dry for now if you think tonight cold, just wait. the coldest air of the season is on the way. i'll tell you when it will be feeling more like december than november and when we can see new record lows.

minute from the schuylkill river. >> he took us where no cameras have been before >> we walked up nine flights of stairs to one of the plants cooling towers >> we make electricity over 2 million pennsylvanians and businesses >> nuclear power begins with the splitting of adoms. a process called fision >> it rotates, it's condensed and sent back to the reactors to complete the cycle >> these cooling towers do what their name suggests, cool down the steam, it's considered a source of clean energy because it does not emit carbon >> it's different from solar or winds in that we have a two-year supply of fuel at limerick, a constant power over 94% all the time. always on for the two-year period.

>> reporter: the nuclear plants make up about 93% of the state's clean energy but the plant's operator exelon does not how much longer its plants will continue to operate due two high costs and lack of financial support from the government. their hope is lawmakers at the federal and local level will do more to support nuclear energy. >> the loss of limerick or the rest of the pennsylvania nuclear fleet would be devastating >> the primary concern with nuclear power is the potential for exposure to radiation >> what would you say to someone concerned about the radiation >> well, typical workers get less radiation in a year than two dental tall x-rays, radiation is a by-product of nuclear energy but it's manageable, controlled and we have safe control associated with both workers and the public. >> reporter: safety was constantly on the mind of our guys >> we live here, we work here.

just like you. we're concerned about that and again, safety of our plant is our number one priority. >> in late october the general assembly passed a resolution supporting nuclear energy. that resolution urges a federal commission to insure nuclear power receives proper compensation and support. the limerick plant's current operating license runs through 2044 for unit 1 and 2049 for 2. an issue in the air force add flight to make an emergency landing, a woman discovered mid flight that her husband was cheating on her. she used her husband finger as he slept to unlock his phone and that's how she on youred the truth. the couple started fighting the pilot was forced to land in indiana. while there may be a bit extreme. it's probably not unusual for people to check their significant other's phones from time to time. >> is it harmless or does it cross the line?

and saturday. stormscan 3 shows clear skies, clouds and showers lurking off to the south over portions of virginia. and north carolina, back to the west as well. that will stay south this is the system we have to watch, this is happening through minneapolis with snow squalls. the arctic air is locked up. once this fronts sweeps across the northeastern united states. it's like opening the flood gates to the cold canadian air and headed our way. it's chilly through the northwest we're in the mid 30's, allentown, reading and lancaster chilly night there. below freezing in mount pocono. 47 in philadelphia, 44 in millville and 40 in trenton. it's a chilly night. daytime highs by friday will barely get to these numbers. if not colder as this colder air makes its way in. single digit temperatures in the pink area, minneapolis is 34.

we'll see the cold air eastward. the front comes through tomorrow. here it is, about 3:00. temperatures still in the 50's it will feel like it. a stray shower in the late afternoon or evening, winds out of the northwest will pick up and by 8:00 friday when you step out the door, it will feel like the 20's across the area. mount pocono will feel like five and friday even through the afternoon, feels no better than the 20's all day long. thanks to the wind. if you have dinner plans, here's what it will feel like, 25 in philadelphia. five in the mountains and pretty rough as we head to saturday. saturday morning will be the coldest morning yet and it will be the season's first freeze across the east coast. the blue line is freezing that goes to the shore, purple teens that's the poconos and even portions of the lehigh valley i say we head to saturday morning, it's a taste of winter, our

record coldest high is 39, 41 will be the forecasted high, 43 saturday, the record cold is 37. average is 58. and challenge records on the low side of things, saturday morning, forecast is low as 25 degrees. the record low 21 degrees. you're talking 25 degrees, that's not just chilly. that is downright cold. that's cold we haven't felt since last winter. it will feel more like late december or early january friday and saturday. saturday, a little bit less wind, not quite as harsh next week back to more seasonal. the saving grace is only a two-day blast of cold. >> thanks, katie. >> is up next. >> netflix. the definition of a winning streak is not what you think. sixers were on the west coast. joel was in camden, find out
