harbor sit where huggins was held until his trial. he and three other teens attacked a guard and then stole a car which they crashed less than a mile from the jail >> i heard the big crash, and boom. >> reporter: joseph luna caught escaped teens on security camera as they slammed into his jeep, and hit an apartment building and took off running with police just 15 seconds behind. >> vehicle still getting slammed into the fact that these kid, motor vehicle slammed in my neighbor's home and fact that they are still at large is scary. >> reporter: schools in several atlantic county towns were closed that the manhunt grew to include a hundred officers, and around 9:00 a.m. more than 50 miles from where the escape took place huggins three accomplices were caught in bridgeton. police say a resident of the apartment complex on this avenue reported suspicious activity outside. police set up a perimeter to find huggins and placed nearby schools on lock down as well as shut down traffic. >> it is really ridiculous. these are young kid, these days, they just need to go to school, get their education

our joe holden is in upper darby tonight with more, joe, good evening. >> reporter: ukee, good evening to you. word of this investigation only surfaced after cbs-3 started asking questions. it appears county detectives are now sorting through what does appear to be a theft scheme here in upper darby town ship. first sign something was wrong came six months ago money was missing from the upper darby township tax collector's office, multiple sources confirmed to "eyewitness news" it was discovered that the amount of cash amount todd close to $300,000. the township police department , referred the theft case to the delaware county district attorney's office. spokeswoman this week confirmed the office is investigating reports of missing money from the tax office, but could not comment any further. our sources say woman in the center of the investigation no longer works for the township. >> that is a terrible thing,

attorney's office makes a determination on how this case will be handled. reporting live, from upper darby township joe holden for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". it was an emotional day inside a center city courtroom as family and friend of the murdered father came face-to-face with the young men accused of killing him. for their hearing today judge made 17 year-old marvin roberts, seen here and 20 year-old maurice roberts watch graphic video of the crime. brothers are accused of killing girard grandzol in front of his spring garden home during a carjack ago tempt in september. >> saw how calm jerry grandzol was and how he tried to reason with them and gave him his wallet. he just wanted to make sure he got his daughter out of the back seat of the car and they shot him anyway. >> police say younger brother pull the trigger but it was the older one who brought that gun to the crime scene. the judge ordered both suspects to be held on murder charges and related robbery charge was no bail until the next court date in early

december. police need your help identifying three suspects, wanted in a violent assault inside a kelly in center city. this surveillance video was taken inside this deli on south 23rd street, back on october 29th. in it, you see woman arguing with the man, she goes outside and reenters with two men, the men then knock victim to the floor and begin beating him. we are not showing you rest of the attack because it is so graphic. if you recognize suspect call the police. authorities are also looking for this man whom they say tried to rob king grocery store on south 16th street. this happened around 7:15 on october 29th. police say man walk in with the gun demanded money from the cashier and second employee started, startled the suspect causing him to runaway no one was hurt but you are asked to call police if you recognize him. owner of the philadelphia restaurant showed her support for the free meek mill movement today with free soul food. country cook on north 22nd

street gave out 600 fish and grits platters. restaurant's owner, said rapper meek mill has supported her business from the beginning and she just wanted to give back. meek mill is currently serving two to four years sentence for violating probation, many of his supporters believe the judge showed extreme bias during the rapper's case. philadelphia wins an injunction against justice department, judge ruled that the government cannot withhold a federal law enforcement grant from sanctuary cities. >> i made clear that in the end we will let a court decide the court has decided to day and i'm glad people can read for themselves the extensive opinion how policies promote safety, help victims and witnesses that comply and comply with federal law. >> city asked for injunction after the justice department threatened a 1.7 million-dollar grant unless the city changed its policy on sharing information with federal immigration agents.

first chance coming in a couple of hours but it is relatively light rain just a few showers and steady rain for weekend. here's what is going on right now, that front has made tonight to the pittsburgh area or just starting to make it in the area as we go through that front will continue to move across state of pennsylvania, eventually reaching us, likely , after midnight but a few showers may pop up out ahead of the front and temperatures again not all that cold thanks to the southwest flow and cloud cover as we await arrival of the advancing cold front. it is an interesting front. as we widen out on storm scan three the actual push of cold air behind this cold front is right back here. enough of the back sprinkles coming through at actual front passes and coldest of the air is lock up over minnesota inouye. cold air on the delay. showers move through but ohio, portions of indian, illinois not cold just yet it comes in 12 hours after showers pass and that is what we will see here tonight and tomorrow.
