the tractor-trailer hit an overpass near the radnor station. the accident caused delays to septa service lines. service on septa's paoli thorndale line is operating on or close to schedule. >> cell phones and gps systems can take our eyes off the road. now researchers are looking into the technology that certain cars are built with. touch screen information entertainment systems are frequently blamed for driver distraction. acura cadillac lexus mercedes benz and tesla are voted as having the most distracting systems. well, the transportation security administration says guns that are usually loaded are being found in carry on bags at checkpoints at a rate of nearly 12 a day. >> a pilot for southwest airlines could be facing charges after of a load gun was found in his carry on bag. >> reporter: t.s.a. screeners at saint louis' lambert international airport

spotted this loaded 9-millimeter smith and wesson in the carry on of a southwest airlines first officer who had planned to board a flight to las vegas. the 51-year-old pilot was arrested and the airport says charges are pending. the t.s.a. instagram is full of guns found at checkpoints. officers have stopped more than 3700 from getting through, that's up 10 percent from all of last year. and the numbers have been rising for a decade. this latest incident comes as the t.s.a. is facing heavy criticism for missing at least 70 percent of prohibited items brought through checkpoints during undercover tests earlier this year. florida senator bill nelson. you've been briefed on this report. how concerning that this. >> i mean, this is hair on fire. >> reporter: the testing is done every two years. in 2015, the t.s.a. failed 95 percent of the time: what do you think that says about the level of security at those checkpoints at airports across the country. >> i'm just amazed that a terrorist has not come through

a checkpoint and done some very bad things on an airplane. >> reporter: department of homeland security inspector general john roth appeared before the house oversight committee yesterday. >> we found deficiencies in the equipment, we found deficiencies in the personnel and we found deficiencies in the process by which they interacted with the equipment. >> reporter: the inspector general says the t.s.a. is showing signs of improvement and the agency is working to address classified recommendations made. in 2015 the t.s.a. began retraining all 40,000 screeners but those tests this year show that many of the officers failed to detect things that they hadn't received the training yet. kris van cleave cbs news rig nation airport virginia. >> phillies lift 174 home runs this season and now those stats will help make our area a lile greener. each home run represents a new

cents... >> finance major. >> that's funny. >> this is why we come together because we all have different talents. >> harmony. >> exactly. well, it's about to get chilly. it's not too bad outside right now but the wind has definitely kicked up. we expected that but the sun is shining pretty much everywhere and it's just a little bit of a breezy afternoon for us out there but the temperature interestingly is already for some of you in the 60's. we'll take that in mid-november. it's not extremely warmer than average but it's better than what you would normally find at least and this isn't going to last forever. make the most of it while you got it. storm scan3 at the moment is pretty quiet but notice in the north and west most suburbs, i'm not shocked to see this a little hint of leftover moisture from the disturbance that came through earlier on today, brought in those showers through the overnight and very early morning hours that is still crossing through. if you're just about ready to go outside up in the lehigh valley, or parts of maybe berks county here for a lunch break you could encounter a quick shower but these are

zipping right along. this is a three hour loop so it's moving through quickly. it really isn't going to be a concern as the afternoon progresses, all of this is pulling away. at the wide zoom we're talking wide zoom two systems thanking the continental united states the second of which is going to be the big ticket item for the weekend here locally. it's starting to show more impressiveness back across the western part of the united states just barely moving on shore as of yesterday but once it crosses the u.s. not only is it is it going to gain strengths and organization but it's going to bring in pretty substantial changes to your oar a. friday looks a gem. chilly but a nice day. we probably won't break out of the 40's tomorrow but at least we've got sunshine and you wi saturday in without any problems. it's the p.m. hours into the afternoon especially that the rain begins to pick up and it el a warm front lifting in h overnight.nos storm is going to just zip right through. that will flee out to sea.

in its wake the wind kicks in, the cold air wraps in with that northwest wind flow. very likely that the lake effect machine is going start to get under way. down wind of lake ontario those flakes get in here and they probably survive in our north and west suburbs that chilly wind rushing in in the wake of this. there's a marathon. not sure if you heard rahel, there's a marathon on sunday. >> the funniest thing kate i'm running. >> i know you'll be out there and we're so proud of you because it looks like we'll be having some pretty conditions. i think the worst of the wind is going to be really kicking in after many folks have crossed the finish line but there could be a leftover shower just as things are getting under way. it should be drying out. you're really left with crowds the rest of the afternoon but it's chilly. even these values, those temperatures in the 40's you can't say go by that because the wind is kicking up with every passing hour so it will be chilly whether you're running in the race or just standing out there and watching all the runners go

by. now here's a look at the wind gusts that are current. they're not everywhere, not everyone reporting wind gusts but we do have them into the 20's if not even 30 miles per hour that is actually at the philadelphia international airport. so, it's a blustery start to the afternoon. i went ought for coffee had to come back and smooth my hair down because there was a lot of blusteriness going down on callowhill street. on the live neighborhood network it is clear, pretty start to the afternoon. you have a few clouds here and there but it's feeling not bad out there. feeling like we're right around 60 degrees in a lot of spots here. technically at 59 at the airport. a little bit milder you got to factor in a wind chill in the poconos. let's quickly jump ahead to the seven day just to wrap things up here with a pretty bow. we flank the weekend with some chilly sunshine and in between you've got the most activity of the next seven days over the course of the weekend. >> katie thank you. >> sure. >> this may be a good time to invite more teal to your thanksgiving feast. the price for a meal for 10
