12:02 pm
that, instead of waiting i just went in. natural instinct, hugh plan instinct is to help our neighbors, help our friends and our family and that is what we did. and, i was actually extremely proud of my neighborhood. >> reporter: uniting in this time, neighbors who didn't run into the fire, got blank totes warm the seniors, now outside in the cold. >> everybody reacted so quickly, just picking them up, and, getting them covered. >> reporter: neighbors helped load them on the school bus to get them to a temporary shelter while fire fighters battled the blaze for more than seven hours. at this time there is no official word if everyone made it out, of the fire. at least 20 were taken to a hospital. >> right now we just need to let atf and local police, fire departments do what they need to do to figure cause of origin, and we are praying for everyone. >> while there is no official word on what caused this fire, we have heard, or had several residents coming up explaining they heard some sort of the boom, explosion and then they

12:05 pm
but it is 48 degrees. so, you really only have to subtract maybe five to max eight or 9 degrees, to, just account for a wind chill value but those northwesterly winds when cranking there is noticeable. 17 miles an hour after all at philly international. that is going to make it feel chilly for sure. keep that in mine. rest of the afternoon wears on we will keep this pattern going even through overnight but it is tomorrow that things dramatically start to change. we will start to see these rain showers moving in as early as even late morning, for some of you but especially in the p.m. time frame and heaviest rain will be falling saturday night into early sunday morning. then, rain tapers off but some of you will even see snowflakes far off in the north and west especially as lake effect snow machines gets underway here. so along with this wind, chill , will rush in, i will let you know later in the show , guys just how cold it will get. now back to you. thanks, katie. senate republicans are one step closer to passing their

12:15 pm
12:16 pm

runner are descending on fail for annual marathon. rahel, are you ready. >> yes. i think i'm excited. i think at this point i have put in the work and now time to get out there and hit the pavement. see all of the other runners, jim. >> good for you. i have no desire but thank you for invitation. >> philadelphia marathon benefits american association of cancer research and other charities. in addition to the 26.2-mile run on sunday is there a half marathon and 8k run tomorrow. course runs through fairmount park, schuylkill and through university city and manayunk, and every where in between. >> yes. >> 26.2 miles is a very lot of land to cover. >> yes. >> i'm feeling manayunk will be tough because of the hills. >> yes.
12:18 pm
>> i have been trying to keep heavier calm. >> she put in the work. >> too late to turnaround now. >> whatever is coming, yeah. >> and, i think it really does help when you can go in knowing what the weather will be like, right? that way you can prepare, you will need to be prepared for the wind. >> so many great tips for you but my co-workers. i'm so excited. >> we're happy for you. we will root you on the whole way. >> she will be so sore on monday. >> yes. >> we will get you muscle relaxers. but we do have wet weather to talk about here coming in the form of the warm and cold front since the beginning of the show. so it finally makes its arrival even as early as late morning, tomorrow, with the wet weather. that is also when that rain really does begin to pick up or wind does begin to pick up. lets walk you through everything to a live look of the current conditions which really are quite it is brisk but still some ce wrap up to the workweek.
12:19 pm
we have had nothing but bright sunshine since sun came up. this is high atop hotel bethlehem south mountain in the distance moravian college looking nice, bright, sunny. your sunglasses are a requirement for rest of the day but you do not to have worry about wet weather just yet. as you look at storm scan you would expect there will be totally, empty and it is across the entire northeast at this point. lets look at the storm heading our way and bringing in this downhill drop on the conditions, by the weekend and it is back here, still showing some signs of more organization, but yet, warm front first, core of the circulation is well off to the north here so that will not have an impact here but warm front first and then coal front sunday is what causes headache. so lets jump through here, here's the warm front late morning at earliest through p.m. hours on saturday is when rain will over spread our area i don't expect this will be a widespread wash out of the day , it will come through off and on throughout the rest of the day but there could be light, moderate, heavier
12:20 pm
pockets of the rain that comes with this especially saturday night because cold front will be sweeping through at that point into early sunday morning. then we will see what happens in the wake that cold air starts to catch up and as it does so it will allow lake effect snow machines to start getting underway here. so with that down wind, you know, flow of moisture crossing of the lakes you will see a few snow flakes especially across north and western most suburbs on sunday but i really think that it is the wind that becomes the main legacy of this front have the we will get into in a in a second. here's 8:00 a.m., tomorrow. so this particular model is trying to pick up parts of the berks county already into this , by eight or 9:00 a.m. it is generally in the p.m. hearst but far north and west we will see rain sooner and then we will see this batch of rain coming through off and on in nature for the rest of the day. so won't be raining all day long but when you get hit you will likely need to have umbrella in most cases.
12:21 pm
here's overnight hours 1:00 a.m. sunday as you see cold front crossing through rain heavier at times not as many people out and about that time of the night but by sunday morning 7:00 a.m. things are getting underway with the marathon when wind is starting to crank. here is 4:00 a.m. saturday with wind gusts how strong do they get? look at this by 11:00 a.m. warm front lifting in you could have gusts easily in the 30's, it looks like this will be peeking saturday night again your cold front, so that is where you'll see biggest clash of air mass taking place and these gusts could peak at up to 45, 50 miles an hour in some instances but i'm thinking for marathon itself you will have gusts upward of 35 miles an hour and slowly that continues to tape inner to next week. so an example where you might start to see wet weather that is temple football here. they tan on ucf tomorrow afternoon. showers start to move in right around half time or shortly thereafter. your marathon forecast chilly.
12:22 pm
i don't think you can go by these values. factor in the wind, the rain should be clearing out, however in time for the start of the race, live neighborhood network all looking good. i want to show you that seven day real quickly here right now. take a look by monday we are back to sunshine and very chilly in the wake of the front. >> perfect timing, katie. >> thanks, katie. macy's on fifth avenue knew in new york city is ready for holiday season. store unveiled the legendary holiday windows this years theme the perfect gift brings people to go. >> you don't say. >> dozens stores along fifth avenue knew decorated their windows for holiday season just in time for macy's thanksgiving parade next week. join us later today as we kick off our celebration of the season, holiday fest, we will feature peddler's village look for live reports from meteorologist kate bilo on "eyewitness news" at 5:00. we will be right back, stay with
