the rain could impact your travel in certain areas, and today's wednesday november between the second, good morning, i'm jim donovan. i'm rahel solomon. happy thanksgiving eve. katie and meisha is keeping an eye on things keeping an eye on things for us, good morning >> we have been saying this since 4:30 when we went live that we are seeing slow conditions out there lots of construction out there first and information mess but we are also seeing some accidents because of this. >> you and that eye brow raise >> i'm just trying to get things done early, working early. >> yes. >> head to the airport. >> yeah, yeah. >> no kidding. exactly. i wouldn't be shocked if rain starts to come into play for some of us too. some of that rain is coming down steadily. lets take a look that is intense right there across del marva peninsula, thankfully bulk across shore points is mainly out to sea, heaviest stuff but you do have tricky travel along parts of the route one along i-95, garden state parkway, this is primarily an issue for southeastern 23rd of our

region but this is also, primarily an issue, in the next couple of hours. that is good news. skies will clear out for everyone. even if you do not see a drop of rainy expect that too. fifty-two currently at the airport. fifty-five in atlantic city. you will not see temperatures rebound from these points all that much and as day goes on even as skies clear out and sun returns, it is, still looking like a more seasonal day just as cool air starts to play catch up here. fifty-five is our expect high in philadelphia, by about that point when you are hitting the road you may have traffic out there but won't to have deal with the rain drops also falling in tandem with that. my advice, even though you are saying it gets off to a rough start already, if you can wait out the rain, i would add vei that. it is out of here, quickly but coming down heavily in spots. >> that is great advice absolutely if you can wait that out because we know because it is so busy already in those areas, that especially where it is raining where katie said, would i wait it out just because of the

sheer volume levels that we are starting to see already in this early morning. we have been tracking it all morning long. it will be one of our busiest travel days. looking outside, accident here schuylkill westbound before south street at university avenue pulled off to the far left, let's see, we have got one vehicle leaving now, we have flashing lights out there but you can see how slow moving it is, behind that, forcing you over to the right, putting on your breaks and gaper delay as well. if you can avoid this, you will want to yesterday we talk about the boulevard and how slow moving it was in the morning bumper to bumper conditions trying to get on the schuylkill westbound. we had crews block ago this on ramp on to the schuylkill westbound. not here, we are hearing reports crews are out there but lot at boulevard southbound, bumper to bum perfect conditions. again, another area you have to factor in extra time. more coming up in the next 10 minutes, jim, back over to you traveling for thanksgiving you are in good company, estimated 51 million people will hit road, rails and fly to their destination this year

nationwide they will move some three-quarters of the million people during this time period , and amtrak is actually added extra trains to meet this demand, lets take a listen. >> if you haven't already purchased your ticket and still need to travel in the next several days get to amtrak.com. call 800 u.s.a. rail, down load our app, certainly purchase a particular here at the station but you want to make sure that is there enough room for you. in additionally you want to make sure that you are arriving at the station at lee 30 to 45 minutes before your train is scheduled to depart when are coming here in a taxi , ride share service or taking septa make sure you give yourself enough time so you do not miss your train. >> people here who get through today they are not out of the wood just yet. amtrak tells me that the busiest day of the year is sunday after thanksgiving when people are going back home to try to get back to work on monday. so they will still have a lot to deal with but for now we are live from 30th street station i'm trang do for cbs-3

"eyewitness news" remarks hell and jim, back to you. this might make you think twice before complaining about holiday traffic in philadelphia this was the scene on interstate 405 in los angeles. cars were bumper to bumper for miles. drivers are no strange tours grid lock but when you add a little holiday traffic, this is what you get. well, some breaking news from overseas, we now know that eight people found from a navy plane that crashed overnight are in good condition. that is according to the navy. crash happened southe of japan 's okinawa island, 11 people were on board the plane , search for other three continues. plane that went down is a transport plane called a c. two greyhound that you see here, the cause of the crash is not yet known. back here at home in word what led to an overnight fire in west philadelphia fire fighters put out the flames in a home in belmont in under 20 minutes. call came out just before midnight to the 800 block of north holy street in, one was hurt. this morning investigators

are returning to the scene of the devastating fire in west chester that fire destroyed a senior living center late last thursday, atf says it has found two of four people missing since that fire broke out, they foundry mains, investigators made discovery yesterday. they will continue to look for other two people today. five alarm fire, destroyed barclay friend senior center and causes still under investigation. well, roxborough people are honoring memory of the elementary school teach shore died in the fire over the weekend, vigil took place last night in the 600 block of renz street where sheila hawkins died when her house caught fire on sunday morning. hawkins taught at shawmont elementary school. she work at the fail school district for 25 years. former students and collogues are heart broken. >> i had her as a teacher in third grade and she helped me lieutenant to become a teacher >> i'm still feeling like she will be at school tomorrow or next week but i know that she's not. >> very sad, several of hawkins family members were

you again. it be lint to go watch time lapse in a place like rehoboth , drenching rain for last few hours but later tonight and beyond it does stay clear. here's a view of the very cloudy looking palmyra cove nature park shot philadelphia and center city sky line in the distance but cannot see it expect you will see reduced visibility for short time here , but by tomorrow chill in the air but looks dry, sunny and that bode well for thanksgiving parade too, meisha. >> it sure does, thank you. kind of piggy backing what you said here are we are seeing slow downs, closer here in the city. we will get to that in a second. look at the boulevard. we have problems on the boulevard southbound yesterday because off ramp to the schuylkill westbound was blocked for some overnight construction crews. we are not hearing reports that is the case, this is just sheer volume out there on the boulevard, trying then, to get on to the schuylkill. if you can heading out your doorway, if you can avoid it, you will want to but i hesitate to even tell to you do that because it will be

wet out there we are looking at the vine, very slow, wet, this is i-95 south at cottman, bumper to bumper conditions and wet roadways will not help conditions, and one of our best yes, sir travel days of the entire year. so 95 south at cottman nothing to do heading out there give yourself extra time. boulevard, our friend, was causing us problems yesterday, causing us problems again today, pushing in the southbound direction jumping on to schuylkill westbound, very, very slow here as well, certainly give yourself extra time there i would say an extra 40 minutes at this point then we are looking at an accident 95 north at mlk boulevard left lane compromised we had a couple other accidents they are out of the way, german turnpike at plymouth road. we had a vehicle hit a tree in phoenixville gay street at second avenue that has also cleared and we will talk about the thanksgiving day parade coming up in the next 10 minutes, jim, back over to you millions will be seeing family and friend holiday

has to answer. >> new york attorney general's office is investigating the hack and uber's being sued for negligence by a customer seeking class action status for the suit. more women are coming forward accusing former cbs this morning co hoe charlie rose of sexual misconduct. three new accusers work for cbs news, one alleged that rose touched her in a prep eighthly at a work-related event. cbs fired rose after washington powe article detailed claims from eight women who worked or wanted to work important rose pbs program. his former co hoe gayle king appeared on the late show with stephen colbert last night. >> it is still very painful, still very hurtful, charlie and i have worked together, been friends but when you think of the anguish of those women despite the friendship you still to have report the news. >> pbs also cut ties with rose and cancelled its vince of his interview program. memorial services and funeral arrangements are in the planning stage this morning for actor, singer, teen idol david cassidy.
