and on, no politics at dinner table that settles that. >> indeed but weather is always a safe topic especially today. katie would agree. >> definitely. >> we have a lot of people coming out, just strictly from the parade and otherwise if you are heading outside today would i just say heavy coats required, guys. the good news is that the wind has eased up nicely, there is a chill in the air on the sky deck but it is quiet as can be out here. typically at this point of the morning i hear trash trucks backup outside philadelphia community college next door but it is just completely quiet out here. nice calm feeling. we are going to stay that way on storm scan all clear as we mentioned in the morning minute and stays that way throughout the entire day. tri-state sweep, nothing being picked up on it, right now. we are definitely chillier as a result. we had a cold front yesterday, with a nice clear sky that will allow these temperatures to drop readily. down in the 20's, heck, even lower 20's up in the mountains and we are, waking up to a

chill in the air but again minus wind it is just a nice looking day. take advantage of it. come on out, it looks like it will be very cooperative for that regard for the most part you need to layer up, not just talking about a jacket but a heavy one at that and keeping in mind if you are in the city there is sometimes tend to be despite expected wind, a hint of the wind tunnel between sky scrapers but 45 is our expected high, it is chilly, and nearly 10 degrees below average here today, however, we are still going on the proverbial roller coaster ride with our thermometer readings, so average, typically hits about 53 degrees. we are going to exceed that into the upcoming weekend and then drop off, all over again. so i'll tell you exactly where thermometer readings will fall and also if any systems come through to bring tonight rain, that is later on, guys. let's head out to the road on this holiday, is there an accident to tell but here in delaware avenue and frankford avenue, this is in the fishtown section of the philadelphia two lanes are blocked, traffic, it is

squeezing by. there are no injuries reported but as you can see on this screen philadelphia e ms is on the scene there. now to the look outside at ben franklin bridge, all is quiet there, and a beautiful picture this morning overlooking center city from camden, and other bridges also clear, we can tell you, and to the roosevelt boulevard near interstate 76, no delays, no incidents to report, in this area. ben franklin bridge looked like a post card. >> beautiful twinkling lights. >> thanksgiving wouldn't be the same in the sit of brotherly love without our annual holiday parade. >> indeed. earlier he was a little, you know, deflated but as we go all the way down here you can see a number of balloons right behind him including my nephew 's personal favorite, daniel the tiger. you can see back of his head there. lets look at this map of the parade route here heading down here later to day it starts at 20th and jfk and travels east, to 16th street where it will then turn left on to the parkway and of course, continue up the parkway and eventually ending in front of the art museum. take a look at video from last year's festivities this years parade will feature 140 musical acts, dance troops, marching bands and choirs, many local but quite a few from all across the country, and of course, main attraction the 22 balloons featuring lots of beloved children's characters like clifford the big red dog, daniel tiger, strawberry short cake and very hungry caterpillar. about a dozen or so workers have been up all night getting these balloons ready and they have a lot of work ahead of

them but they are okay with that, listen. >> we set up about 9:30 last night and we set up straight through until kick off. >> reporter: wow. >> these guys take a little bit more attention. we have to set it up, put everything together that we need and start firing up generators to get these guys going. >> reporter: in addition to all of these amazing balloons out here, i do want to give you a warning, i have seen a number of tow trucks out here, so, of course, as you can imagine these balloons take up space. market street from 19th to 21st is closed and jfk from 20th to 30th yet. if you have not moved your car , police are doing it for you. you better get out and move that car. live, i'm trang do, for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". joe and rahel, back to you. always a big event but heavy police presence as well to make sure everything is safe there. >> indeed. well, thanksgiving parade

there isn't the only tradition in town. >> families lining upright now at cacia's bakery in south fail where thanksgiving turkies have been cooked to perfection for generations. "eyewitness news" reporter pat gallen is live with the staff and customers celebrating the holidays together. happy thanksgiving, pat. >> we can only be in south philadelphia in the middle of the night where you can have a block party centered around thanksgiving. everybody is out here their turkies ready to go in at cacia's bakery where they will start loading turning is in to their giant brick oven at 6:00 . it happens every year they have been doing it every year since 1960. they can fit over 140 turkies which is pretty impressive. so, i have made some friend is here. as you know this is my second year doing this wearing this ridiculous cbs-3 turkey hat. this is jones family, carroll, and gang. >> good morning. >> how are you feeling. >> doing well. >> this is year number 10. >> yes. >> how did you figure out that this was the place to be.

>> my dad kind of found the place and found out they do turkies so we don't to have do it, so it is all good. >> reporter: what is benefit for you guys. >> less clutter, we don't burn the turkey, we don't burn the house down and it tastes good. >> reporter: you have experience in burning a turkey >> no, no, no, not at all. >> we have never burn a turkey , in one in our family has ever burned a turkey. >> you get turkey out of the way and room for side and everything else. >> absolutely. >> reporter: i was going to ask if you are having fun standing out here in the freezing cold but it doesn't look that way. >> i'm not exactly too cold. >> reporter: are you feeling all right though. >> i feel great. i feel toasty. >> reporter: your dad was out here, dale, who i talked to last year, why is he hiding from me. >> i have no idea. he is getting warm while i'm getting cold. >> reporter: so is what on the menu aside from the turkey

casino earnings increased 21 percent in the third quarter of 2017, that compared to last year. now atlantic city's seven casinos posted a profit of 252.2 million, tropicana's earnings were up 67 percent. only the borgata posted a quarterly loss, and that was less than a half percent. philadelphia police are releasing nug video in connection with the bombing in center city a year ago that seriously injured a center city man. take a look at this exclusive video a person is delivering the bomb. bombing injured 60 year-old jim alden hit by shrapnel and lost a finger in that explosion. investigators say it appears that alden was the intended target. >> it was a targeted attack. the package did have address and name of the victim on it. and that is only lead that we have right now. >> and there is still a $10,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest. philadelphia police nabbed a 86 year-old bank robbery

philadelphia thanksgiving day parade are well underway, and you're looking live at 20th and market streets in center city, balloon handlers are inflating all of those balloons right now, say hello to clifford, the big red dog right there, road closures and parking restrictions are in place across center city. clifford's looking bigger these days, joe. >> yeah. rapper meek mill isn't letting jail time disrupt his holiday cheer. family and friend handed out 1,000 free turkies on wednesday. "eyewitness news" at one give away location at point breeze, the event also made stops in three other city neighborhood. mill's serving two to four year prison term for a prison probation violation. and royal rumors are swirling megan markel could be make a permanent move to lon on. according to reports the actress has moved out of her toronto apartment and some say that the actress and prince harry could be moving in together, adding more fuel to the speculation, markel a very

saying happy thanksgiving everyone, lots of holiday wishes coming in here this morning. he has some pretty pictures that came in this morning as well. and a little pop out in front of the fireplace, i just love that a norman rockwell painting, so cute. >> yeah. >> yeah. >> there you go. >> all right. lets switch gears, take a look at storm scan not much to report, guys, all clear and all calm and it will stay this way courtesy of high pressure, right through to tomorrow. so lets take a quick peak here at the wind speed, notice the wind direction is still predominantly out of the northwest, it does not take much at wind this is light for to it feel colder then term ter read and since it is so cold this morning. even though you won't to have deal with this severe wind chill you may notice it, again , going out to the parade route bundle up adequately since through that parade route with the wind tunnel and sky scrapers it is net tore just with that but with time all and all, just nice weather in the sunshine. so here's that important parade forecast for you, come 8:30 it is only 34 degrees.

by noon time as much of this is wrapped up, we are only at 41. likely climb a few additional degrees before it is all said and done but it is chilly. new for black friday heading out to the door buster deals, whether it be very early or later in the day this looks like a good day. you will go out early still need to bundle up and still need jackets in the afternoon don't get me wrong but sun will shine and we are looking more seasonal for black friday as a hole. now, seven day forecast does go on a bit of an ebb and flow here. our peak warmth comes on saturday, few degrees above average here at 58 degrees, late in the day a few isolated showers move in that afternoon and at night and then we will drop off, again, a solid 11 degrees, but we are back to sunshine. up, down, see sunshine, you don't, it is just pattern that just keeps going up and down it looks like, guys. >> katie, thank you. couple of accidents to tell but now, thinks an accident on southbound delaware avenue at frankford avenue in fishtown. two lanes are block as you can see here police active there.
