it is a mad dash for holiday deals, stores are pack today with bargain hunters hitting the stores early on this black friday searching for a present presents. i'm rahel sole monday. i'll jan car bay o7 shores are trying to find the best gar gain and we will check with them in a moment but first meteorologist matt peter son live on the sky deck this afternoon with a look at what to expect if you go shopping later today. >> i should say good morning or afternoon i should say.

it is a bright, bright sunny afternoon on this last friday here in philadelphia. it will be a wonderfully sunny rest of the day, as well, and actually outside on the sky deck while it was chill think morning it is not too bad as you get ready to move in the afternoon hours, lunchtime looking comfortable for us. as we peak on storm scan three you can see high pressure is in control. that is why we are so clear, with all of that sunshine out there. a few high cloud through early morning hours and in areas around lehigh valley, areas up toward poconos woke up to a few cloud but overall, it has been a sun filled start to the day, and temperatures for the most part are on the warmer side, now compared to where they were early this morning, we are seeing 50's in southern new jersey, millville, 50 in atlantic city and 51. still clinging to 40's from philly backup toward allentown where we are without at 48. forty-two in mount pocono. while you still need a jacket, it is not overly cold, for us while we did wake up in the 30 's again we are rapidly warming up.

winds were brisk and breezy at times, throughout the early part of the workweek but, right now we are looking at generally quiet conditions, pretty clear skies, and calm winds, but maybe five or 10 miles an hour at the most. we should not see anything more than that through the afternoon hours. so just picture that you do dress with the jacket if you dor ago this black friday shopping we will get up to 52 degrees in philadelphia little cooler down at the shore in the poconos, 50 at the shore points but plenty of sunshine there and poconos as well, 46 for our high temperature further north from the city. watching a cold front for weekend could bring a few rain showers, tell you details when i come back inside. >> matt, thank you. shop until you drop that is plan for many people who are venturing out there to find those black friday bargains to day, and the mall parking lots are packed, with those shoppers. we will send our alycia nieves to the cherry hill mall in new jersey today where folks are seeking out the savings, hi there alycia, how does it look >> reporter: hey, jan there are thousands of people here certainly seeking out savings of the cherry hill mall.

we will give you a live look quickly at the crowd inside the mall. right now it is pack but not chaotic at the moment and we know those hoff shopped on this day that it can get crazy black friday is one of the busiest shopping days of the year and estimated about a hundred million people will pick up christmas presents and take advantage of this holiday sale today. that is clearly many of those people are in this fall right now and it is always fun for me to look around and see hoist looking around the most bags and getting, arm fatigue but with that comes wallet fatigue. the average person spent $400 on black friday. last night alone, around the country, nearly $2 billion was spent on early black friday sales, so it is no wonder that malls like this one and so many, opened up until midnight last night and then again today at 6:00 a.m. >> they clearly had about 30,000 people, shop on thanksgiving, so we're expect ago this would probably be double that today. >> it is really craze any here and there is no parking. >> reporter: is it worth it

>> my second home. >> reporter: one mother/daughter duo from new jersey has made a annual black friday trip to kop for the pennsylvania 15 years. >> we shop until the mall kicks us out. we have been here since 1:00 a.m. shopping. we will not leave until the mall is closed. >> reporter: members from the national retail federation show that nearly 60 percent of shoppers plan to snag their deals on line this year but hear one of the largest malls in the country, half million people are expect over the weekend. >> that is thanks to the atmosphere including luxury shops, touch screen director ies and tip friendly areas says kathy smith, mall's director of marketing. >> it is an experience. we will have 30 percent of our customer mix over weekend come in from outside the area. they drive-in, they bring the family, it is a annual tradition. >> reporter: some shoppers even crossed state lines to be here. >> i did it first and i got this awesome -- love them. it was a good deal for zero seven something dollars.

it is nothing. it is good. >> reporter: in king of prussia, anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". lay away angel struck at toys-r-us in cherry hill by paying off all of the lay way bills. our pat gallen met charlie k on "eyewitness news" this morning. charlie woke up and felt moved to give back to the community. he walk in the toys-r-us there and paid off 350 order, that included 8,000 items. >> i was thinking about shopping for my son and, you know, realize some people are little less fortunate. i realize this toys-r-us was closest to some of the more impoverish neighborhoods and, you know, i wanted to be able to help the people that helped me the most. >> charlie didn't just stop at paying off lay away bills either, he also, asked shoppers there to pick three toys each, to donate to toys for tots and charlie covered the cost. if you are still planning to hit the stores later today head over to cbs philly.com

>> reporter: good afternoon this sent delays through the entire septa system, early this morning, delays that continued until 10 or 10:30 delaying many commuters and shoppers. you take a look at video we shot in the immediate aftermath of what happened here and we can tell thaw shortly before 8:00 a.m. a train pulled on to the track, 11b and somebody spotted a body on top of it. he had been electrocuted and could not be identify. man share this picture, that we blurred of authorities recovering body and beginning their investigation into how this happened. we spoke about one woman hot platform who saw news about the fatal incident and adjusted her game plan because of an important family schedule today. >> i am traveling to neshaminy mall for my niece and her daughter who i have not seen since august. she's almost one. i live in atlanta. and we change our plans to start earlier in the day, in case the train was delayed so i don't lose my few hours with her while she's still awake.

first snowfall here in philadelphia we are closer and closer to that date. twenty-seven days until official start of the winter season when we have shortest day of the year and winter solstice. we have 31 shopping days until christmas. plenty of time to get deals in for black friday and 38 days until we ring in 2018, can you believe it will be 2018 in just 38 days. while we're at it we will be dealing with very nice conditions today, if you did get out early this morning to get those early morning black friday deals do you know just how chilly, it was. we were in the 30's. you needed winter coats. waited, slept in and get those deals later this afternoon it will be warm but pretty seasonal out there, 52 degrees , lots of sunshine. you will need a light jacket definitely but will not neat that winder coat like earlier in the morning you needed hats , gloves, scarves earlier in the day but not what you need later this afternoon. wanted to take you down to rehoboth beach i have a few folks out there on the beach and boardwalk as we go in the

afternoon hours. they are getting in that sunshine, it is now cool, down on the water, probably only looking at temperatures maybe in the mid to high 40's, down in the rehoboth beach area, so if you do want to get dune the shore in new jersey or maybe where you celebrated thanksgiving yesterday or down shore points in delaware as well and you want to get outside enjoy fresh air, wonderful sunshine put that sweat shirt on because it will be on the cool side, maybe a slight breeze but not nearly like what we saw at times earlier in the week. do a little bet this weekend. we have a cold front sweeping through for the most part on saturday that could give us a stray chance for a shower saturday night into sunday before high pressure settles in and clears us out for weekend. mild day tomorrow, temperatures object saturday afternoon could be pushing 60- degree mark. we are really warming up today , peeking tomorrow but then again on the back side of the front as we get into sunday gets cooler and more breezy to wrap up weekend.

those spotty showers on late saturday into saturday night, for the most part better chance will be north and west of the city and they will be very light and at this point especially on saturday, saturday night looks like it will stay all rain but early, early in the morning hours on sunday especially near poconos maybe a few snow flurries mixing in nothing to be overly concerned w not anything you need to be worried about. holiday travel, of course, given you green light, sunshine, seasonal temperatures won't see any weather issues on the road today, tomorrow we will give you yellow light because we have late day showers and back to green light on sunday, sunshine, breeze bye now weather issues on the road, for the end of the weekend. fifty-two for the high today, tomorrow, as i said we are pushing 50-degree mar. fifty-seven for the high. forbidder game on sunday we have chilly, breezy conditions , sunshine for us, 48 degrees our temperature on
