in the morning is playing hoola hoops? cirque du soleil. >> oh, boy. >> yep, today is friday the first, first -- what happened to november? >> i have no idea. >> what happened to june, july , right? >> exactly. >> but it is weirds, because dealing with such beautiful temperatures. weird to see christmas trees dealing with 50, almost 06 degrees. looking outside our commute is actually looking good. construction crews are out there. yes, little damp roadways. overall no accident. nothing. >> yes, and you know, actually have another 60 plus degrees day in this forecast. i'll let you know when that get here. not in the immediate near term but it is in the seven day, take a look, showing you six hour loop. so notice the time stamp where the wet weather has already long since moved out. but, it was crossing our area, about midnight or shortly before that, depending on your location. you're really kind of whimpy system though, look at the beginning of the loop, even then, new light showers, sprinkles, then it was done. so yes, you may encounter damp road. i don't anticipate that spray

from vehicles or anything like that is going to be an issue for you. in the meantime, yes, it was cold front. but the colds air hasn't quite caught up to us yet. still seeing surplus on the thermometer by comparison at least to the same time yesterday. 10 degrees warmer, up in mount pocono, i'm show you how it translates to the thermometer in a second. philly, atlantic city, wildwood, all, you know, well above average, or well i should say not even above average but also above where you were yesterday. so, we keep going back and forth, with this minor taste of weather whiplash really on the thermometer, 46 at the airport, 45, in atlantic city, and 36 is not terrible compared to yesterday's standards up in the mountains. now, till is a real nice day, still above average, in fact, normal high is 55, rather, 50, we're going to hit 55, and even for the pocono standards, 46 in the sunshine, for december 1, not bad, meisha. >> no, absolutely gorgeous, but i know, everyone is going oh, some people dream after white christmas, right? we will see if we ends up get that, but enjoy the beautiful

weather while we have t enjoy the commute. all week long it has looked really nice. forty-two freeway, take it toward 295, sure, starting to builds levels little bit crack into the 5:00 hour, but overall looking typical. looking good. things are looking real good for this friday morning basically anywhere even though 42 is picking up little bit. ninety-five north, off ramp to bridge street, that was closed , now cleared out of the way, and this is what you are looking at in terms every just volume levels, there just isn't a lot. schuylkill web closed between 30th and vine for the overnight construction there. jim, that the tasha, back over to you. >> thank you so much, meisha. surprise interruption, the beginning every dinnertime. >> a magnitude 4.1 earthquake rattles a mid-atlantic region with the epi center in delaware. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do felt the quake, i didn't feel a thing, but you can a test to what you felt, trang! >> it lasted about 102nd, i was telling jim, it was like a heavy tricky thought, then somebody later told me it sound more like a low flying

jet, which is accurate. fortunately though no reports of any serious damage or injuries. >> it was just like wow, did anyone else just feel that? >> a question millions in the mid-atlantic region asked one another, just after 4:45 p.m. thursday. that's when the us gee logical survey reports a 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck. the epi-center just 6 miles east-northeast of dover, delaware, near the bombay hook wildlife refuge. >> the whole house just started shaking. >> perhaps no one else felt it more than linda dempsey and her husband, joe, who live just feet from the epi center we're just looking at each other like we thought maybe a big plane from dover air force base had come down. >> few miles away in dover, this restaurant surveillance video shows people sitting at the bar when the quake hit. you can see heads turn before everyone shuffles out. people in dover estimate the shaking lasted maybe five to ten seconds. >> i looked around, at my co-workers, everyone was just wide eyed. we went outside, we thought somebody hit the building.

>> similar wide eyes from north fill. >> i we felt a shake. we like stopped. then my friend, mia, she was like did you feel that? i was like ya. >> people from as far away as washington dc and new york city felt it, too. this cell phone video captured after mirror swinging back and forth at her job in hackensack , new jersey. derrick pits, chief astronomer at the franklin institute, says the gee owing gentlemen of this part of the country allowed the quake to impact a huge area. >> the bedrock that underlies all of the soil here extends up and down the east coast fair agree. so, any kind of vibration of this kind of magnitude that occurs in that bedrock can be felt up and down the east coast. >> pits says earthquakes in the region tends to happen every few years, just that they're not powerful enough for us to feel. now, the richter scale goes all the way up to ten, so while 4.1 is strong our area, nothing what they experience say in california. but just enough for all of us -- >> i was up on a ladder putting up my christmas tree

and i thought what's that? >> and we're so happy you're okay. >> i remember thinking it was 5:00 i need to go to bed. i'm getting light-headed. i feel like the builds something moving herement then later on i saw pat gallen's tweet and i thought oh, okay, that's what it was. >> see, pat gallen bringing you the news. >> thanks, trang, appreciate t not the first time an earthquake has rattled our area. you may remember back in august of 2011 a magnitude 5.8 earthquake shook most of the east coast including philadelphia. that earthquake was centered northwest of richmond, virginia, it forced buildings in center city to be evacuated i gout of this one really fast it also shattered some windows on highrise buildings. >> meantime, philadelphia police have now identified the teenager they say was brutally murdered by a man that she met on facebook, authorities say, 15 year old sack rhea mcclane was stabbed more than 50 times before her body was set on fire. she was found tuesday, behind a building on the 200 block of south 49th street. police arrested the alleged killer in this case, coal

herring, after his parent turned him in. he's now charged with murder. >> meanwhile, police in bucks county say they found a pick-up truck involved in a deadly hit-and-run earlier this week. chopper three hovered above the lower southampton police station yesterday where the truck was processed for evidence. detectives are now searching for a person of interest in this case. nineteen year old jessica kurtz was killed monday while crossing street road near philmont avenue. her boyfriends, will van arsdale, was badly injured, as well. >> investigators in upper darby, they want the public's help now identify ago man who posted threatening signs on and around a mosque. take a look at this surveillance video. suspect recorded monday morning putting the signs on the mosque at 69th and walnut. many of the signs on the words there were misspelled. how much, the anti-muslim messages were very clear and police are taking this seriously. >> this is a hate crime, a terroristic act, and threatening and putting people in fear.

>> a devastating fire, the mayor of co-host, which is with a city near albany; calling this fire the worse disaster the city has ever seen. authorities say the fire sparked by an amateur blade smith, who tried to imitate something he saw on television witnesses say the winds play huge role, caring embers to nearby buildings, and the mayor says the fire destroyed or damaged nearly half of the buildings in the downtown area also, a van plows through assisted living facility in living stone, new jersey, sending four people to the hospital. fire officials say, three

wheelchair bound people were coming back from an outing when the driver lost control. we're told none of the injuries are serious. it is still unclear if the crash was caused by a mechanical failure or driver error. >> well, residents in the florida keys, officially, put the hurricane season behind them, with a special flag burning ceremony. nearly 400 people showed up last night to watch hurricane flags get torched in key west. the flags were doused in the local rum to get the fire going. some communities in the keys are still recovering from the damage that hurricane irma caused in september. >> rum, to burn flags, that's a new one. but hey, it is key west, where anything goes. >> goodness. >> they're like good riddence, folks also look like they were with the rum, hope they stayed away from the flames. >> well, they know how to have a party down in the keys. guys, looking ahead to not only the beginning, now, of new meteorological season, happy meteorological winter with that said, but also a change of pattern down the

road. for now, and through the majority of the seven day, you are either just a little bit above what's average, or well above average. but, that is a pattern trend, that's really going to go by the wayside in the days ahead. so let me get you outside. start things off by looking at the recent set of events. and that was that little, bless you, natasha, i had to acknowledge that, god bless you, my friends. all right, we take a look at the front that just came through, less than the series that had crossed through our area in the recent days, pretty much the only one call significant rain, even then, it was few light showers or sprinkle, that's already long gone. maybe you encounter damp roadway. not going to have to deal with spray from the vehicles, nothing like. that will let's talk about next week. and the cold air waiting in the wings. eventually, there will be a pretty substantial dip in the jet stream, much colder air will be allowed to sing south. as it plunges in here, of course temperatures reflect. that will does it mean we have know? our future?

friday, volume levels looking pretty good. that's what we're seeing here on the boulevard, the vine actually looking pretty good, eastbound side, heating up little bit. westbound side looking quiet. really the eastbound side keeping our eye on the vine right now, and we have some construction overnight schuylkill westbound with was closed between 30th and the vine that has also since been cleared. but this is the one accident that we're looking at. montgomery avenue at bryn mawr avenue f this is your neck of the woods, just heads up, no volume issues around the area, i would say give yourself a couple of extra minutes, natasha, jim, over to you. >> now for look at newspaper headlines from all across the region. >> from the trentonian, former mercer county assistant prosecute here resigned in october is after being charged with dui following an alcohol- fueled crash, has a new job. the trentonian says steven perry was recently hired by mt. laurel law firm, which has a current contract with trenton. that firm is representing the trenton police director, ernest perry, jr., in a lawsuit, ernest perry, jr.; steven perry's father. >> in the mercury,

>> welcome back, 5:23, glad you're with us this morning. >> pat's here with sports, pat , strange occurrence around here last night with eagles fans rooting for washington. >> yep, that doesn't happen every day. so, with a lost to washington, a cowboys lost, the philadelphia eagles would have clinched the nfc east even before they play in seattle on sunday, but dallas, showed up in a big way to hold off the celebration for now. cowboys rookie ryan switzer here, cannot be stopped. he would go 83 yards for the touchdown, to put out cowboys up 17-nothing in the second. and the route was on. happened to be his first nfl touchdown. zach prescott, he threw for two of them including the 72nd t buys the record set by bob hayes. alfred morris, he ran for 127 yards on the night. and a score in the absence of elliot. the cowboys blow out washington, 38 to 14. keeping the division from going to the eagles.
