from flynn, white house attorney tycobb issued a statement saying false statements involve mirror false statements to white house officials which resulted in his resignation in february of this year, and nothing about the guilty plea or the charge, implicates anyone, other than mr. flynn. >> so far all of the charges and guilty pleas have been not about including with the russians. >> reporter: flynn is now fourth trump campaign official to be charged in special counsel's robert mueller's probe of russian interference. prosecutors have also charged trump's former campaign chairman paul manafort, his deputy rick gates and campaign advisor george pap dop lust. michael flynn was released without bail, he faces up to five years in prison. president trump says media speculation that he is going to fire secretary of state rex tillerson or wants him to resign is fake news. that is what he tweeted this afternoon. it came after tillerson brush off questions about whether his job is in jeopardy.

>> reporter: well, it means two things. what do we know that happened today and then what might tell us about what could happen in the future. what we know about what happened today is that michael flynn throughout his discussion where is serious enough to lie about them to the fbi four days into the trump administration, so, something was happening, in thosees conversations that we may not necessity about just yet, serious enough that somebody who knows you are not supposed to lie to the fbi nevertheless did. but the more important thing is what we don't know, which is what he might be telling the special counsel, that was part of this agreement. flynn has agreed to help special counsel in its investigation so where else are those investigationsinging ? what has he told them already? what might he tell him going forward and how does that affect other people the special counsel is looking into. >> we know you will talk taxes , sunday as well, president's tax cut plan could soon become law, there has been arm twisting there where do you think it stand at this

point. >> it looks like it will pass the senate and that is a big deal because there is, one of the questions of then tire tax process could the political momentum behind this for republicans they had to get it done in matter what was in it. was that going to be enough to get it through the system. that is absolutely looking like it will be enough to get it through senate. then there will be a reconciliation with the version that came out of the house but given the strength of this political momentum behind it, that seems to be a hurdle that is possible for them to clear and then the president will get a piece of legislation to sign which will be a very big deal, for him and for republicans, they can show their base, that they are able to actually govern and pass very big historic piece of legislation. the question of how it will affect people is much up for debate, but right now it seems like it is moving forward and we will all just to have watch consequences after this passes if it does. >> all right, we know you have lots more to discuss on sunday

critically important step that parents must take. >> reporter: because as was far too evidence today there are, plenty of predators out there. in hamilton township henry rossoff for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". two people dead and another person seriously injured fog a multi vehicle accident in new castle county delaware. crash happened just before noonan i495 northbound near 12th street in wilmington. delaware state police say four vehicles were involved in the accident, multiple people were hurt, and i495 was completely shut down at i-95 split for several hours, all lanes are now back opened. new details now about an early morning school bus crash in the lawncrest section of philadelphia chopper three was over the scene on east wyoming avenue just after 6:30. officials say bus was heading to john hancock demonstration middle school when driver of the suv traveling in the opposite direction collided with the bus. two adults and 13 year-old student were injured, all are expected to be okay.

high for today's date is 50, average high by end of the month by the time we ring in the new year 41 degrees. our most snowy december ever was in 2090, 24 inches of snow fell in that month, december 21st, winter solstice the shortest day of the year, these days getting shorter and shorter as we head toward that date only nine hours and 15 minutes of son. good news is they start to get longer again. storm scan three shows a whole lot of nothing there high pressure in control, lasting through the weekend, it is quiet for now about that business to change. by next week we have got rain chances increasing as system head our way, that is tuesday into wednesday of next week and if you have been enjoying this nice quiet mild pattern get ready to pull out heavier coats and gloves by end of the next week cold air will move in. so a look at our jet stream pattern as temperature pattern out there will stay mild through weekend but watch what happens by next weekend, that big bowling ball bubble of cold air in the upper

twenty-four hours later it is still as people talking earthquake in delaware that sent tremble is a cross our region. >> in fact, tremor could be felt as far away as washington d.c. and connecticut. "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is live in smyrna delaware with a closer look at emergency response to the quake, hi there, david. >> reporter: hi nicole, ukee. behind me is emergency management building in smyrna, delaware epicenter not far from where i'm standing but it is amaze to go think millions of people felt this earthquake there was not one juror one report of damage in the state of delaware. meanwhile officials they have been analyzing what happened yesterday. a group of patrons relaxed by bar at 4:47 p.m. thursday afternoon at great fox grill in dover, at that exact moment in time, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake rattled mid-atlantic from washington d.c. all the way up to parts

record rain, relentless wind and unimaginable december trucks, the 2017 hurricane season now in the history books as one of the most active seasons on record and costliest season ever. with the new record of four u.s. hurricane land falls three of those category four storms. a grand total of 17 named storms, 10 of which were hurricanes and six of those hurricanes considered major on the saffir-simpson scale. through the storms and even the aftermath cbs-3 was there. >> see is what left behind localized flooding here in the area. >> it is wet. it is windy. these waves are intense. >> reporter: with one hug and her smile the stress that i have been carrying for weeks went way. >> reporter: in august harvey was first major hurricane to

make land fall in the u.s. since wilma in 2005. the storm unloaded buckets have rain in texas with the highest reported measurements of 60.58 inches, most rain recorded from a tropical cyclone in connecticut mental u.s. history. irma was one of the strongest hurricanes ever recorded in the atlantic ocean with wind of 185 miles an hour and irma sustain those wind for a total of 37 hours, the longest any cyclone around the world, has maintained that level, of intensity before. in september hurricane maria devastated the island of puerto rico. maria was strongest hurricane to make land fall there in 89 years. we cannot forget about hurricane nate in early october, moving toward land at a swift speed of 28 miles an hour, breaking a record for the fastest moving hurricane ever, in the gulf of mexico.
