agents association responded agents act with unwavering integrity. this sparked a tweet on saturday that sources tell cbs it was actually crafted by mr. trump's lawyer. it suggests the president knew mike flynn lied to the fbi before firing him. some suggestion if he did know that and then asked director james comey to drop it, that might have led to. >> a dialogue the president disputes. he tweeted sunday, i never asked comby to stop investigating flynn. just more fake news covering a comey lie. >> would say this as president. there's an ongoing investigation. comey may be part of it. you tweet and comment at your own peril. flynn fleeding guilty friday to

the fbi is now cooperating with robert mueller's investigation into russia's meddling in the election. now, the tweet that raised those concerns about obstruction of justice were i had to fire flynn because he lied to the f bbi. sources said not only did he say it, he knew it at the time of the firing. president trump said he's willing to negotiate a key part of the gop tax overhaul, the corporate tax rate. it must now be reconciled with the house version. mr. trump said he would consider the tax rate at 22% instead of 20%. john dickerson said he thinks the president will have the bill he wants by christmas.

our top stories this morning, president trump says the fbi is in tatters, the worst in history. that's one of a string of tweets of the pretsident attacking the fbi. one tweet suggested he knew former national security adviser mike flynn lied to the fbi before firing him. sources tell "cbs evening news" the tweet was actually crafted by mr. trump's lawyer. they hope to have a reconciled tax bill passed and ready signed before christmas. the senate barely passed the measure late saturday. mr. trump said he may be willing to negotiate a key portion of
