meisha, with time, you know, we start to see that radar fill in little bit this morning. but, it is definitely at it worse later on today. and it is pretty evident why. right? here comes the frontal boundary marching east. moisture building up in advance of t so actually warm, even across the canadian border, with this surge of warmth, will lead to anything but plane old rain. but look at the local zoom. you can see, even if that's not even verifying at the ground, moisture starting to creep in here across kent, sussex counties in delaware. so, you know, over the next couple every hours don't be shocked if you run into. >> this i don't think it is anywhere near as big of an issue what it will be for the pm drive. current temperatures readings, really mild. fifty currently at the airport , and we call our normal high today, only 48 degrees. so, you're already exceeding that. and we are expecting to only warm up from here. so, where do we peak? sixty-two, not shabby, might as well be early april with the values. but quite the trade off that comes with this, of course, with rain moving in. >> the pm hours specially, little more detail on when

santa paula at about 50 acres, but in the span after few hours now at more than 25,000. >> the prospect for containment not good. really mother nature will decide whether we have the ability to put it out. because it is pushing hard with the wind. >> the rapid spread is being blamed on high winds, with gusts of up to 70 miles per hour. the fire also struck some key transmission lines, knocking out power to a quarter after million customers, in santa barbara and ventura counties. people who live in santa paula , about 70 miles northwest of los angeles, say they got reverse 911 calls, orders egg them to leave their homes. >> i'm not going to wait around for somebody to have to come rescue me. so i'm out of here. >> the ventura county fire department says one person died in a car accident related to the fire. due to the intensity of the fire, crews are having trouble getting to several buildings that are burning. at least two have already burned to the ground. >> we've been here almost 30 years. and we've gone through fires, you know, but it is just the

wind. you just don't know where it will go. >> and adding to the difficulty of fighting this fire, the national weather service is predicting high winds and low humidity throughout the rest of the week. in the meantime, the county has set up emergency shelters, at a local high school in the county fairgrounds for evacuees. for now live in the sat center , trang do, cbs-3, " eyewitness news." joe and rahel, back to you. >> thank you. >> medical examiner will term the cause of death for hundred men found in a motel room. now, detectives rushed to the day one motel in wilmington yesterday afternoon. a hotel employee said a man in a wheelchair was staying in the room. delaware state police are calling this death suspicious. >> we want to snake sure that we do proper, thorough investigation. >> right now investigators are not calling it a murder suicide. they add, however, there is no suspect on the run. and the public is not in danger. >> three teens accused of beating man to death in mayfair are facing charges this morning, and police say

they may be connected to other assaults. seventeen year oley manual harris, 16 year old malik page , and 14 year old brandon conrad being charged as adult. police say the teens attacked and robbed 57 year old kevin cullen on the 4200 block every logger street last sunday. again, investigators believe the teens may have been involved in other crimes. they they don't have prior contact but certainly looking at them in conjunction with other assaults that have been reported. one other assault, where a teen is under arrest and they're all part of the same group. >> people in the fay fair community set up memorial for the victim last week. neighbors we talked to say cullen was a nice man who was well known throughout the neighborhood. lawyers for philadelphia rap artist, meek mill, are calling for the judge to sentence him to prison to step aside. they say the judge is under fb i investigation for her conduct in the case. meek mill is serving two-four year sentence she handed down last month for probation violation. >> yesterday judge brinkly

denied night bail request calling meek mill danger to himself and the community. what she says is a history of continued drug use. also claims he is an increased flight risk. mill remains behind bars, at a state prison in chester. former philadelphia district attorney, seth williams, has been transferred to a new prison. he's now an inmate in a federal lock up in oklahoma city. williams enters guilty plea to one count of excepting a bribe in june and was sentenced to five years in prison. williams us a lawyers think he will eventually be moved to minimum security prison in morgantown, west virginia, his sentence runs until 2021. well, one week ago before alabama special election for the u.s. senate roy moore is picking up key endorsement, republican national committee is resuming financial support following president trump's endorsement, and in mid november you may recall the rn c severed ties with the moore campaign after accusations every sexual misconduct. moore continues to deny the allegations.

by keeping close tabs on glucose levels. what many people don't know is that two of the most harmful complications of diabetes are heart disease and stroke, both deadly conditions. joining me now is dr. ann albright, director of the cdc's division of diabetes translation and dr. valentin fuster, the director of mount sinai heart and physician in chief of the mount sinai hospital in new york city. it's good to have both of you here. i want to know about this connection. how does diabetes lead to heart disease. - well the heart has three functions. the one is to pump blood. the second is to have a rhythm, so it's an electrical system, and the third, it needs oxygen to have these two properties. the products of a high blood sugar affect the three properties. - wow, so everything that keeps that heart going is all affected by diabetes. certain people are at higher risk of this, right? - people with diabetes and pre-diabetes are at higher risk for heart attack and stroke.

it turns out, women are 40% more likely than men to have heart disease and people 65 and older, 70% are likely to die from some form of heart disease. - for all the people out there who are living with diabetes but not really thinking about their heart, what do you say? - bad news, they should think about their heart since the number one killer in diabetes is the heart, is heart disease. the question is what to do? you have to look at all the risk factors that lead to heart disease. two mechanical, obesity and high blood pressure. two chemical, the diabetes and high cholesterol. two behavioral, or four or three behavioral rather: smoking, lack of exercise, and poor nutrition. ann, so what's your advice to help people kind of manage these things? - to eat healthy, to get more activity. take your medications as prescribed and see your healthcare professionals for those important tests and exams. really stick with it. - all right, thank you both. such important information, and to learn more

the great lake, up-state new york and even further north off the map here. very warm air mass for the standards, and when you look at the temperature change, frost hat 24 hours, yes, in a surplus, in a huge way, most of these observations, are at least 20 degrees. warmer than they were at this same time yesterday. what's that translate to on the thermometer? 54 degrees in atlantic city, a one in philly, sun isn't even up and the temperature climbed through the morning, 429 current temperature in mount pocono. you get the idea. off to mild start. so with time, that rain is going to move in. i do think you could see couple of showers this morning , but the steadiest rain, will fall with, unfortunate timing, with the evening drive. so, poor visibility, roadway ponding, spray from vehicles, all a concern. and i will have much more detail on the nitty-gritty of that timing. what hours are we talking about? i'll have that detail just a little later on, meisha. >> definately something we want to know, thank you so much, katie, very good morning

to all of you, happy tuesday. so, looking outside right now, 59 south at betsy ross, slow, bumper to bumper no longer traveling at posted speeds here. so you will have to pack your patience, lever your homes little earlier. i would say an extra 20 minute or so. starting at this point, boulevard, moving in the southbound direction, toward the schuylkill, casino of the same story here. bumper to bumper conditions. not traveling at posted speeds and then, once you jump on to the schuylkill westbound, at city avenue, very slow moving here. so, traveling in the eastbound side into center city, not so much. not quite as congested as the westbound side. so it is really the westbound side we're keeping our eye on on the schuylkill right now ment accident here, 422 eastbound, the on ramp from limerick linnfield, partially blocked right now, plus debris in the roadway here. some wood, and carpet, and all of that kind of crazy stuff. route 30 bypass eastbound past route 100. good news that's now just been cleared. joe, rahel, back over to you. >> meisha, thank you so many. continuing with our breaking

news, at least one death is being blamed on the fears moving wild fires burning in southern california. >> the thomas fire broke out yesterday near santa paula, outside of los angeles, and in a matter every hours it exploded to more than 25,000 acres. at last check nearly 8,000 homes were under mandatory evacuation orders, thousands were without power. officials say powerful winds are fueling this fire. >> the prospects for containment are not good. really mother nature decide whether we have the ability to put it out. because it is pushing hard with the winds. >> now, adding to the difficulty of fighting this fire, the national weather service predicting continued high winds, and low humidity throughout the week. >> the organizers of the fund for the victims of the las vegas mass shooting say they'll stop taking donations at the end of next month. it was october 1st, when steven paddock opened fire from 32nd floor hotel room window. killing 58 people and injuring hundreds more. the victims fund has received about $16 million in donations

so far. the money will be distributed to survivors, family victims, and first responders. >> members of south jersey church gathered to learn how to deal with one of modern day's grim realities, an active shooter situation. "eyewitness news" was at bethel church in blackwood last night, hundreds of residents, clergy, took part in active shooter training seminar with a focus on churches. just last month, 26 people were killed when a gunman opened fire at church in southerly lands springs, texas >> basically what happened in the beginning, it was really just hi, you know, now we're teaching people how to defends themselves, and, you know, at the end of the day get out of the building, get away from the shooter. >> gloucester township police hosed this program last night. >> we are learning south jersey elementary school that was shut down back in october, due to mold, will reopen after winter break. classes will resume at whitehall elementary school on january 2nd. school district officials say the clean up at the school will be complete by then.

for now whitehall student lent continue to attend class in section every williamstown middle school. holly glenn elementary, also in the monroe township district remains closed due to mole. it is unclear when holly glenn will reopen. >> as the two chambers of congress begin to recognize sallyann each of the tax plans , we know that the clock is particularring. >> yes, it is, senate has nine sessions left before it adjourns for the year, cbs news business analyst jill schlessinger says big difference that is need to be resolved, and joins us live from new york, good morning, jill. >> good morning. >> jill, what are some of the hurdles to harmonize these two plans? >> well, you know, the senate plan would eliminate the affordable care act individual mandate, while the house maintains that penalty for not caring insurance. now, here is the thing. taxing it would save over $330 billion, but it would leave 13 million people uninsured. another disagreement is he, is the number of tax brackets. the house would consolidate

the current seven bracket structure into four, and would also maintain that top rate of 39.6%. senate plan would keep seven brackets, but the top would drop to 38 and a half percent, helping those high wage earners. >> what about breaks for families and homeowners? >> this is going to get interesting. the senate would increase the child tax credit to $2,000. that's twice the current level of a thousand. and the senate plan would phase out that credit if you earned more than $500,000 of income. now, the house plan is a little less generous. 1600 per child, but they start phasing out the credit for couples who earned 230,000. huge difference there. now, remember, for mortgage, the house plan said borough kearse deduct interest up to $500,000 in home loans. the senate plan maintains the current 1 million-dollar limit a lot of work to do in the next eight or nine days.
