i believe the future of immunotherapy at ctca is very bright. the evolution of cancer care is here. appointments available now. right now at noon time, snow is coming, winter weather advisories and warnings are popping up all over our region as we prepare for the flakes to fall, even in the penndot salt trucks are loading up. good afternoon i'm jim donovan. i'm rahel solomon. we are waiting for the storm to arrive. >> meteorologist katie fehlinger is tracking the storm as it moves this way she's live on the sky deck, so when will the snow arrive. >> just a matter of hours for some spots, guys because further south you reside sooner of course this will move in because the storm is coming from the south and west and it will throw moisture back on shore into tomorrow.

that is why it is looking more and more likely that the further inland you are even here across the delaware valley as a whole you are prone to see at least something out of this storm. i am glad we are seeing penndot crews and all of the other dot crews get out there with the salt, because it is mainly the untreated surfaces that are likely to see accumulation here. so that messes with your travels, if it is not treated. taking a look at to middle school in the live neighborhood network. keeping any kind of warmth from building but we have enough cold air to support some snow heading in to tomorrow. probably that slushy variety, good for making snowballs but again primarily on unpaved surfaces. looking at storm scan it is mainly rain far south right now but once it gets in here late tonight, of course we will have colder air to work with. it is a streak of winter alerts all the way back to alabama, mississippi, georgia, interestingly they got the first snow before we did, and here in philadelphia but sure enough the adviceries and winter storm watches are posted for our area they will

take effect late tonight and last us through all of the say day and here's time line as early as late day early evening, wintry mix, is going to start moving on shore for delaware and southeastern most new jersey and overnight into tomorrow and that snow will be developing, in philadelphia, and just for the rest of saturday then it will be a slow taper, for that snow to actually get out of here. later in the show, of course, is there still questions that need answering? how much are we talking ? who gets hit hardest? when does it get out? is there more snow in the forecast. all of those questions will be answered later on, guys. >> kate, see you then. now that the snowy conditions are moving in the area preparations are underway to keep local road safe. >> "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is live at penndot 's district six headquarters in king of prussia with their plan of action, give a noon, david. >> reporter: i just left a few moments ago. big plan of action, this is our first snowfall as you mentioned but we want to show video from chopper three

earlier this morning, showing some trucks, getting ready to head out on the road to go bri ne, salt take care of those road, to make sure that people stay safe. we will also take a tour of the operation district center here in district six in king of prussia a little while ago to show exactly what goes on behind the scenes, lot of those penndot crews are monitoring in real time, they have those big screen tv so they can see exactly what is going on all of those penndot run road in the philadelphia area, and some of those surrounding counties, but i had a chance to speak to the spokesmen who says that the timing of this storm actually is convenient just because of when it falls, during the week >> the timing of the storm could not be better, it is overnight into a saturday, saturday morning, less volume on the roadways, laos us our crews to give us more space, more effectively and efficiently to cover their route. so, the timing is good, not just monday through friday

they placed school on lock down and swat and home land security responded. police say there was no real threat and lock down was lifted and school was dismissed at noon. in other news in southern california, two new quickly moving wild fires, have sprung up in the san diego area. that is in addition to several fires that have been burning for most of the week. >> hundreds of thoroughbred horses in san diego county ran for their lives as fire spread , nearly 150,000 acres have been scorched and hundreds of homes have been destroyed. officials say 23,000 homes are still threatened by the blaze, the santa ana wind are fanning flames and spreading embers. here at home a tragic accident, it is what investigators are calling the fire that killed four elderly people at a west chester senior living facility. officials say that the five alarm blaze on november 16th, started on a patio, arson and foul play were ruled out. investigators continue to work on what started the blaze that also injured two dozen people. a spokeswoman for atf says she hopes to release more findings

in the coming days. meanwhile police are searching for a suspect who used a two-by-four and a fight with another man in south philadelphia. this all happened back in october, in a parking lot, on tenth and snider. authorities say that the suspects got in an argument with a 59 year-old victim, who used a kaine to walk. the suspect hit them with the large piece of wood and then fled the scene in a nissan frontier pickup truck. if you recognize that suspect, the police want to hear from you. and, this man is facing charges in connection with last week's deadly hit and run in trevose. forty-eight year-old james powell was picking up driving a pick up like this that hit two teens crossing street road on november 27th. nineteen year-old jessica curt z died the next day, powell was arrested yesterday. he is behind bars in the bucks county prison on $250,000 bail well, a philadelphia tradition continues this weekend with the 118th army/ navy game. big match up is tomorrow at the linc. >> lets look live at the pep

rally at shops at liberty place, on chestnut street. cadets from westbound and mid ship men from annapolis there are getting revved up for tomorrow's battle on the grid iron. >> game time is 24 hours away. as you can see the pep band, cheerleader and band are there to support players. cbs-3 is also representing us at the rally. sports anchor leslie van arsdal is there as the event's official mc. and the pregame festivities started early this morning on the art museum steps where army/navy faced off for rocky relay. it is one event, what is known as a patriot game two day competition between cadets and mid ship men. team earning mess points, was this years bragging rights and a trove that i will be presented on the field, during tomorrow's game. >> and our "eyewitness news" morning crew got in the army/ navy action with some games of our own, meteorologist katie fehlinger and my television wife, rahel, went toe to toe in a jump rope challenge. >> ♪ rocky theme

snowfall map. i will put out as a disclaimer is this there is a window for us to go a little bit higher then this in this light blue area and also, down near the shoreline. this is where we could see when i say plus upward of 6 inches of snow, possibly some spots even more that. this may require some fine tuning as day goes on. it has been a forecast that requires fine tuning with every passing model runny want to you stick with us. check back in for kate's forecast because it may be updated from where we currently stand at five and six. she will be out for holiday fest. tune in regardless. lots of reasons to looking ahead to saturday thinks a general idea of again, how much we will look at, region by region in list format. modest coating for mountains. they have had a lot of snow but they have been making at ski resorts coat to go an inch , far north and western counties, lehigh veil and locally up to six plus down through south new jersey and southern most branch of delaware.

sussex counties especially. temperatures as they stand are at such cold start to the afternoon. we may get in the lower 40's. that will be it. i think at this point we are likely still see flakes flying around so army navy game we will see that on cbs-3. 36 degrees though, that is about the best we can hope for a high, it will be a cold, game, also, looking like a pretty decent weekend for skiers out there. cloud are building. they are making snow out there resorts are in fact opening up this weekend. here's a short list of some of them. big boulder has been opened, the 24-inch base. shawne at 18 inches and modest amount of, trails opened but they are starting to open up. tis the season. we will look at the eyewitness weather seven day tomorrow the main event with the snow coming n sunday still very cold. cold breeze to go witt. it may be drying out but it will be very, very frigid. looking ahead monday, and then especially tuesday we will see this next storm system potentially developing and that is bringing our next shot , at lee and just a chance

welcome back. dog in oklahoma is lucky to be live after swallowing more than a dozen pacifiers. >> it wasn't until the owner took her in for a checkup anyone noticed any thing was wrong. vet noticed dog who weight in a short period of time. when vet took an x-ray of the stomach he was shocked to find , 21 pacifiers, just sitting in there inside.

>> dad said, grand mom, had seen her jump up on the counter and grab one of the babies pacifiers and they had been miss ago lot of pacifiers >> they were pretty stunned because we thought that there was seven to nine in there. i pulled out 21. >> who misses 21 pacifiers. that is what i don't understand. he has a few pound to gain but it is expected that she will be okay, vet says that this is a case of a remind ter dog owners always put away small items because you never know what your dog will swallow. >> this is true, my dog loves to chew the remote. >> twenty-one remotes. >> i probably bought this re met. are you hungry. >> yes. >> today is perfect day to eat a browny because it is not browny day. >> you know brownies were created in the united states of america at end of the 19th century. with the chocolate browny being the favorite. the browny runs a close second blonde browny is made with brown sugar and no chocolate and often called, a blonde. >> i enjoyed that. >> yes. >> go on, jim.
