"eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live at philadelphia police headquarters this morning, anita, what is very latest. >> reporter: good morning, jan very few details at this hour but we know victim is in her 20's and see in this video police are investigating this hit/run. it happened overnight, near frankford avenue and elkheart street in kensington. police are looking for older

model silver ford f150 and searching for surveillance in the area to get a better picture of this suspect, driver and at this time as authorities notify the family members of that victim, her name is not being released but again we do know that one woman in her 20's killed in the hit/run overnight in the kensington section of the city , and police are asking anyone with any information to come forward. for now we are live, i'm anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news" >> all right, keep us up to date, thank you. police say a man was shot and killed in oxford circle overnight. this shooting happened around 12:30 in the 1200 block of grief i street. no suspects and no word on the motive. a winter season may not officially be here yet but we have already had our first taste of it, right. snow is blanketing the region this morning and as "eyewitness news" reporter alycia nieves shows south welcome sights, others not so

back on "eyewitness news", calmer wind are helping fire fighters get several wild fires under control in southern california, at lee four of the fires are now more than half contained. wild fires have already burned at lee 175,000 acres, destroying nearly 800 homes, buildings and as danielle nottingham reports tens of thousands of people just can't go home just yet. >> reporter: fire cries are still working around the clock , taking advantage of the calmer then expected winds to expand containment lines in a half dozen wild fires, span

into northern delaware, so, we have got quite a bit of snow across the region yesterday and new we are looking at a dry scene as we take a live look at center city. areas there is a chill in the air though. 29 degrees, in center city but feels more like 19 out there with temperatures below freezing, it is important if you have to be outside today, even on the sidewalks, just walking but especially on the roadways, watch for those morning slick spots. if you didn't clean your car off yesterday it is likely to have turned a little bit icy. you might need scraper to get that snow, that has been sitting on your car all day since yesterday, off this morning. chilly afternoon on tap, wind chills are going to be in the 20's and 30's today, even though we are forecasting a high of 40 degrees but as temperatures do rise we will get melting and sunshine will help with that as well. 29 degrees right now in philadelphia, 30 in millville, down the shore we have temperatures checking in the 30's, 33 in wildwood, it is 30

in atlantic city, 20's in trenton and allentown, poconos , temperatures are checking in the teens but it feels much colder then anything i have just showed you and that is courtesy of the wind chill. feels more like 10 in allentown, single digits in the poconos and as i told you earlier feels more like 19 in philadelphia. throughout the day, and, and, mid 30's, and we will have wind chills in the 20's and 30 's all day so it will feel really cold out there, even colder then what we see in the thermometer brisk and chilly in the afternoon, we will eventually top out with a high right around 40 degrees. storm scan three shows this, we are drying out, dealing with mostly clear skies. we will have good amount of sunshine today. we have ongoing lake effect snow showers, something to keep in mind passing snow shower in the poconos, as we head throughout your day. so here's future weather. we could see passing snow shower around, mainly for areas to the north, not amounting for much because

system that will be moving through bringing us increasing cloud tonight, very weak, also moisture starved as well. most areas just seeing some cloud into your monday morning a different story as we head into tuesday morning. we could have a rain or snow shower making it our way and behind that system, well, that is when really cold air will be moving in. gigantic dip in the jet stream that will open up the gates for arctic air to push in. that would be our coldest air of the season, so far. let me show you what i'm talking about here 44 degrees by monday, 43 on tuesday, all right, that is not too bad but then by wednesday, we will drop down in the upper 20's and it will feel more like the teens because we will have a breezy, wednesday out there and 33 degrees as we head into thursday. not all that much in the way of improvement. we are brisk, cold with the high temperature right around 40 degrees. winds west at five to 15. gusts hider then that as we head in the afternoon. on monday 44 degrees, late day included developing, rain or

snow shower especially tuesday morning and then a high of 43 in the afternoon. 29 degrees on wednesday, frigid conditions, still cold on thursday. then chilly on friday. we have a high of 40. >> chelsea, wednesday scares me. >> i necessity, girl. >> i will just cover up i guess, thank you. working from home isn't a day at the beach. experts say people often end up working longer hours but as health reporter stephanie stahl shows us working from home can reduce turn over and improve more output. >> reporter: todd miller's commute is all of 25 seconds from the first floor of his house, downstairs to his basement commuter. >> whole office world i was traveling many hours a day going to the office working in cubicles and it just got to me i am thinking there has got to be a better way doing this. >> reporter: miller works for a company designing training programs that lets employees work from home. he says he is able to avoid distractions and is more productive. >> it is a discipline.

lets go to storm scan three you can see we're dry in the tri-state area but looking up north and west where we have lake effect snow showers happening at this point in time, we could see passing snow shower throughout the day in the poconos but otherwise we are dry, right here in philadelphia we have some impressive snowfall totals from yesterday's system, and in allentown over 7 inches of snow fell, kutztown right around seven, four in newark and ambler around 3.5 inches and downingtown we have actually seen three and 3 inches of snow. twenty-nine in philadelphia. twenty-eight in wilmington. twenty-nine in millville. and we are in the 30's down the shore. 33 degrees in wildwood. forget about those numbers because this is what it feels like outside. feels more like the teens in philadelphia right around 10 in allentown. it feels like single digits up in the poconos. throughout the day-to-day here's what you can expect heading in the noon time hour we are looking at a

"eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live at philadelphia police headquarters this morning. what is the latest. >> what we know right now that is victim is in her 20's. authorities where holding her name for the time being. you can see in this video police were investigating this deadly hit and run overnight happened in the kensington section of the city on frankford avenue at elkhart street, they are looking for older model silver ford f150 and they are also speaking with neighbors in the area and looking for surveillance video they are asking anyone with any information or anyone who may have potentially surveillance video of this incident to come forward so that they can identify that

suspect, again what we know is that a woman in her 20's was killed in this hit/run overnight, and police are still asking anyone with any information, to come forward, for now, we are live, i'm anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> anita, thank you. 6:32. a teenager is dead after a traffic stop that turned into a shoot-out this unfolded in camden, delaware earlier yesterday. police say a state trooper pulled a car over on field stone court just after 3:00 a.m. as that troop he approached the car they say the 16 year-old sitting in the front passenger seat, pulled out a gun. >> at which time gunfire was exchanged between the trooper and that suspect. the trooper ends up shooting the suspect, he was eventually trans ported to an area hospital where he succumbed to to his injuries. >> police say the 18 year-old driver was shot in the leg during the shoot-out, trooper and 15 year-old in the back

seat were not hurt, no one ordinary why that teen opened fire. police are looking for the person who shot a man in kensington this shooting happened around 7:00 o'clock yesterday in the 600 block of east west moreland street, the 22-year old victim was taken to the hospital, and at last check he was in critical condition n word on what may have motivated this shooting. to north philadelphia now a 23 year-old man is hospitalized after a shooting there this happened just after 4:00 o'clock yesterday in the 100 block of chew avenue in olney. the man was hit twice. he was hospitalized in critical condition, at last check, in word on a motive for this shooting. gloucester township police are looking for this man lets take a look, they satisfaction he set up a smoke bomb inside of a shop rite there it happened at blackwood clementon road last night. the store was evacuated after the smoke started filling it no one was hurt fortunately. man was wearing a gray baseball cap with the circular logo on the front. if you recognize him call the

let me draw your tension to what it feels like to bear skin out there wind chill of 19 degrees, in philadelphia 10 . and feels more like single digits in the poconos. feels more like 19 in reading and 13 in lancaster. throughout the day-to-day we will see the numbers moderating a little bit. 36 degrees by the noon time hour. still feeling like 209's even at this hour. we will have a brisk wind as well as 40 degrees as we head in the afternoon but again, wind chill will make it feel, chillier throughout the day. storm scan three shows a quiet picture across the tri-state. looking north and west we have ongoing lake effect snow showers. we seem making their way in the poconos but we will stay dry here in philadelphia and rest of the tri-state region today. future weather shows that we will stay dry and good amount of sunshine, dry skies as we head in the evening hours, tonight and then overnight we could see a stray, snow shower making its way in or maybe a flurry, thing is, this system
