outside. there's so many leaves that are blowing down the street and people are hugging their winter coats extra tight. >> horrible. >> it's brutal stuff, and speaking of things blowing around, i got something you don't see every day for you take look at this video. a snow nado look at that. hiker in poland captured this on his cell phone. a snow nado this one formed when massive cold air passed over a warmer surface and variable wind speeds and the directions caused the rising air to spin and pick up loose snow. >> really cool. >> snow nado. geminids. we got everything today fun words for jim to pronounce much it's interesting i've actually seen leaves do this very same thing. even in recent weeks where you see that little small vortex develop and anything really can get whipped up in that that's how tornado forms. what you're seeing with that funnel cloud is more than anything debris and dirt and
12:17 pm
dust and that's what allowing to you see the tornado all of that debris it's interesting stuff f you're snow nado makes you think of the possibility of white christmas let's talk probabilities here. you know, typically we wouldn't have a very decent shot at seeing any snow on the ground let alone falling from the sky here in philadelphia especially points southeast since we're close to the ocean, in an urban area. the further north it's a different story. the probabilities really do start to go up. however, we have got very cold air in place. so i'm not tollly discounting the opportunity right now but with time we'll eventually rebound on the thermometer. get to much more typical territory maybe even little bit of above that. above the average into the seven day which we'll get to for now it is just cold and cold air being reinforced. the next clipper working across the great lakes. light snow bands working their way through ohio lower michigan going to be reaching us by later on tonight. we'll time that out in second.
12:18 pm
in the meantime it is so blustery out there. you might see some of your own leaf nados out there. not much snow if any left on the ground at this point. 37 miles per hour wind gusts current until allentown. 45 maxing out here up at mount pocono so it is so blustery up on the slopes. and then this clipper is coming along to just again reinforce all of this. so they call them alberta clippers because they do tendon to originate in canada. we have a couple of key characteristics in that for one thing they do originate in western canada but they reall ry tend to zip across the u.s. they don't have a lot of time to dump much snowfall but they don't have lot of moisture this is a classic. it will reinforce the cold that's the legacy clippers ten to leave behind. it isn't going to bring much in the way accumulation. snow is not even getting here until later on this evening at the earliest 7:00 p.m. but generally eight or 9:00 p.m. for the west and north most suburbs then it sort of over spreads the

region through the overnight. how much are we talking out of this? probably a quick dusting since it will not be here for very long in the city, then it will get out of here quickly with limited moisture we'll send up with sunshine throughout the day i like this particular model's interpretation hatchel face at most coating up and down the i-95 corridor and points south and east. so there easily be tricky travel tomorrow morning. but if you're looking for any kind of actual accumulation, you are going to have to go pretty far north. lehigh valley make see minor delays up in allentown school district because of this 2-inches expected up there on this particular model run. i'd say about one to 2-inches the expectation. meanwhile this is one of the shaky yesterday cameras we have when it comes to really windy conditions outside whitfield elementary school. very happy there aren't any children on the play ground right now because it is brutally cold out there. 26 on the thermometer. feeling much more like the teens in this area and most everywhere else. but we do have sun to enjoy for the rest of the day. it's just really really cold. you've got to be prepared with extra layering us a hit the road
