july. family members of the other victims jimmy patrick, thomas mayo and dean finocchiaro filled the courtroom in doyletown thursday afternoon coming face-to-face with the men who allegedly killed their loved won. they watched as cosmo dinardo and his cousin sean kratz pled not guilty to the crime. >> this is about the families of lost loved won, this is about a family that just went through thanksgiving and had to look across the table at an empty chair. >> reporter: authorities say cosmo dinardo admitted to killing the men and burying their bodies and as part of the original agreement with prosecutors he was not facing the death penalty. now d.a.'s office has filed court documents, giving them the option to seek death, if dinardo does not continue to cooperate. >> we made an agreement with cosmo dinardo we're the district attorney's office we honor our agreements. should mr. dinardo up hold his end of the bargain we will not seek the death penalty against him. >> the finocchiaro family supports the death penalty,

period. >> reporter: while other attorneys for victim's family echoed that same sentiment loved won are still holding on to memories. >> he was an exceptional athlete, great musician, hard worker, trust worthy. >> reporter: contemplating whether death row will equal justice in a sense i feel like death penalty is too good for him would i like to see him spend a very long time in prison with no hope of getting out. >> reporter: dinardo's attorney went by our cameras without comment. again, just to be clear, the death penalty is, an option, now, in this case, it is not something that the d.a. says that they ultimately, will do, they don't have to, but it is certainly an option for them. meantime in the next couple of weeks or so they will be working to try to hash out a trial date in this case, so there will be lots and lots of meetings to try to get this case, into some progression. ukee and jessica, back to you. >> natasha, back in july we remember the dinardo actually confessed so why did he plead

not guilty to day. >> reporter: that is a really good question and we did ask the bucks county d.a. about that just a short time ago just to get clarification because he was very adamant in his formal a rainment to day, not guilty plea from his both of these defendants, we can tell you that the d.a. tellsh us this is just a formality at this point, this was a formal a rain. today but in 99 percent of cases like this they tell us defendants usually do plead not guilty but as case progresses toward trial that plea often changes and that could likely happen here, as well. back to you guys. >> all right, natasha brown live for us tonight, thanks very much. cause of the house fire that claimed the lives of two young brothers, in schwenksville, montgomery county has been ruled an accident. fire officials say an electrical failure of an extension cord plugged into a space heater toys blame. the fire started inside of the home of montgomery county sheriff's deputy brian lukens early yesterday morning. lukens, his wife, and young daughter all survived.

>> investment in high speed networks has declined by billions of dollars. >> reporter: net neutrality has been an emotional issue producing protests in the streets and on line. the two democrats on the committee then voted against the roll back did not hide their outrage. >> i dissent from the corrupt process that has brought to us this point. the agency that is supposed to protect you is actually abandoning you. >> reporter: supporters of the net neutrality believe broad band businesses can now prioritized speed, on the internet, critics fear providers like comcast and verizon could charge netflix and google more, for faster connections, and then that may lead to higher cost to consumers. but republicans say, those fears are over blown. >> the sky isn't falling, consumers will remain protected, and the internet will flourish. >> reporter: broad band industry says there are no plans to restrict the internet but it appears that the battle over net neutrality is not over.

about an inch across the area, little more heading north and west, right now though everything is quiet, just lake effect snow coming down throughout the great lakes region. temperatures right now very cold, 15 in mount pocono. twenty-seven in allentown right now. twenty-six in reading. as i told you before you have to cut these numbers down by 10 degrees or so to get what it feels like outside as winds are still strong. we are at 32 in philadelphia. twenty-nine in trenton. 26 degrees in reading. definitely enough cold air in place if some moisture were to lift in the region, any precipitation will fall as snow, and that is what we are looking at getting into tomorrow. overnight we will see cloud increasing by 6:00 a.m. mainly cloudy, wake up tomorrow morning and quiet, heading in to tomorrow afternoon a quick burst of snow, this is moisture from the south and look at what happens moving off the coast, brief intensification down the shore and into delaware. this is likely between two and 7:00 p.m. is whole we will see

best chance for scattered snow showers to the north and steadier snow to the south. look at that brief intensification across south jersey and delaware and then by eight or 9:00 we will see that push out and stray flurry north and west overnight or saturday morning. what does this mean? i pulled up european model snowfall because this is most closely aligned with what i'm thinking with the system tomorrow. scattered snow showers, light dusting around the city, down the shore and portions of delaware chance to pick up an inch or two of snow is there tomorrow evening, if that system intensifies briefly what to expect for tomorrow? in the lehigh valley or poconos we will be in the lehigh val any bethlehem for our holiday fest, nothing more than a few flakes. scattered snow showers, a light dusting just in time for evening commute tomorrow in the city and nearby suburbs. that could slow things down. as of right now south jersey and delaware have best chance to see over an inch. quick hitting system but could slow things down for evening commute especially in those areas that may see more

country celebrates another year, coming up on "eyewitness news" at 6:00 how old, goldie locks is now and how they were honoring her today at the philadelphia zoo. a former shriner's hospital patient is giving back in a brief way. >> they loaded a truck full of toys at du pont hospital, for children, in wilmington. the eight year-old spent sometime in the hospital, a few years ago when he had to have brain surgery, and he told us he wanted to give back and help other young patients feel a little less scared. >> the phillies fanatic made a guest appearance at du pont hospital today, a phillies ball girls gave out bats and did arts and crafts with the children there. phillies also brought lots of other toys in partnership with the non-profit called bringing hope home, i have done some work with bringing hope home and they do an amazing job. thank you. flyers at home hosting buffalo sabres looking for their fifth win in a row. >> something else is also happening at wells fargo center tonight and leslie van arsdal joins with us more on

omarosa resigned from her position. i will not go into a detailed process, any further then that >> now at 5:30 omarosa is no longer working as one of the president trump's top aid. today white house reports that she was forced out and now former reality star is speaking out. omarosa is disputing reports that she made a scene and had to be escorted from the building. >> she claims that she resigned after conversation with chief of staff john kill bye her concerns. correspondent nicki batiste has the inside story. >> reporter: omarosa newman says stories surrounding her departure from the white house are 100 percent false. >> difficult not cause a disruption. >> reporter: three sources tell cbs news mr. trump's cbs chief of staff informed her she was forced out of her communication job but could stay on until january 20th and say that she resigned. one time star, denies that she

senate are aiming to have the plan on president trump's desk by christmas, but that time line could be in jeopardy. >> we're scraping... >> reporter: president trump expressed confidence republicans in the house and senate will pass the tax reform bill in the coming days >> i think we will get there. it will be a very short period of time. it will be the greatest christmas present that a lot of people have every received. >> reporter: combined bill would eliminate obama care mandate double standard deductions for individuals and married couples, and allow taxpayers to deduct a combined $10,000 from state and local, income and property taxes. >> there is a lot of give and take here in the end and we will get it done. >> reporter: negotiations hit a roadblock after florida senator marco rubio threatened to vote against the bill. he is pushing for an expansion on the child tax credit. >> we will continue to work with the senator, but we think we have made great stride and pretty historic movement in terms of the child tax credit.

diagnosed with an aggressive tumor. former pennsylvania governor tom ridge is now back at home, doctors released him from a texas rehabilitation facility yesterday. ridge suffered a heart attack last month while attending a conference in austin, texas. the seven two-year old underwent an emergency heart procedure. ridge was also our first home land security secretary. residents of the newtown connecticut are marking a somber anniversary. five years ago today gunman opened fire on children and staff inside sandy hook elementary school killing 26. communities all across the country are holding vigils in honor of the victim while others including survivors of the tragedy continue their fight for strict gun laws. >> it doesn't go away but i also know that newtown residence work hard to chan that he will grief to do positive things. >> reporter: right now sandy hookies working on a design for a permanent memorial, to the victims, that will sit on

this 5-acre plot of land just a quarter mile from the new elementary school. harvey weinstein is denying allegations he sexual ly harassed and threatened selma heyey, they broke her silence in a piece yesterday from new york times saying weinstein threatened to kill her, requested her take a shower, requested to take a shower with her and made other inappropriate offers. the pair work together on the film, fritan a statement to u.s.a. today a spokesperson for weinstein says he denies all allegations and says others who witnessed the events have a different account of what transpired. quote i am part of the problem, that is what film maker morgan spurlock posted detailing his own past behavior of sexual misconduct. he says that woman accused him of rape while in college, he also wrote he thought encounter was consensual but says would the man believed it was rape. he also confessed to paying a settlement to a female assistant for sexually harassing her.

cloud and some light snow in the afternoon, 35 degrees is your friday high. timing this out through overnight hours tonight it is relatively quiet. a few cloud. tomorrow morning looks good but as we head toward midday hours at 1:00 we will see light snow showers working their way from the southwest, generally scattered snow showers around the city and suburbs but do i think there could be more northeastern progression then what we are seeing here but it did start to briefly intensify around 3:00 p.m., you can see deep purples. that will continue through evening commute four or five or six or 7:00 before pushing out to sea. saturday looks quiet, sunny, dry. what to expect? this is a quick hitting system mainly scattered snow around the city. cold enough any light snow showers could drop a quick coating or dusting and could lead to low visibility on the road as well so be safe traveling tomorrow afternoon. brief intensification off coast means best chance for accumulation will be near co south jersey and delaware.
