ago, now out here on the skydeck, i won't lie. couple of little drain drops starting to come down, as we get a look at storm scan3, you will see that there are some returns out there that we could potentially see maybe a couple of stray raindrops across the philadelphia area here this morning as we do have an area of low pressure, warmfront slowly pushing across the region so that could fire off again maybe couple every raindrops here or there. not looking at any kind of widespread precipitation and it is warm enough thatll of the precipitation we do see any at all should commas rain, don't look for any kind of frozen precipitation at this point, because temperatures are well up above that 32 degrees mark. now, hour by hour forecast through the rest of the morning, into the afternoon, see mid to lie 30's by 7:00 this morning 40's through pretty much the entire day, we top out at 49 degrees later this afternoon right around 3:00 with the partly cloudy skies and as is we get a look at the headlines, for really the rest of the week, this is what we will be seeing dealing with with little bit of limited sunshine

mix every sunday and clouds for our monday, then gets very, very warm, for tuesday, we could see the temperatures up near 06 degrees tomorrow, we give it kind after quick break from that really warm weather on wednesday, and then thursday, and then we could warm things back up by the end of the week and also taking early look at what we are going to be dealing for the christmas time that potential could also be maybe on the more mild side. talk a little bit more about that when i come back inside, rahel, back to you. >> matt see you soon, thank you. an accident to tell you about on the westbound vine st. expressway, off ramp to the ben franklin parkway we can see those lights there, the left lane is blocked. also there was earlier accident on the ramp from highland avenue onto route 309 southbound. but that scene is now clear. and as we can see the ramp has since reopened. and here is a look at the ben franklin bridge, looking west toward philadelphia from camden, there are no incidents or delays to report here at this time. looking beautiful like a postcard on this monday morning. time now 5:33. >> ♪ ♪ >> ♪ ♪ >> ♪ ♪ >> ♪ ♪ >> ♪ ♪

>> jim's wearing the suit. you agree that means. another big win for the birds. they barely came out on top over the giants at the meadowlands. >> many fans hoping for stronger performance after all the giants were just two and 11 coming into yesterday. but let's take a look, quarterback nick foles hit the field yesterday in his first start of the season. straight to the third quarter with the eagles up 24 to 23. nelson agholor made his amazing grab in the end zone, followed by a dunk celebration but, the giants weren't finished. eli manning connected with king here, who ran 50 yards down the field for touchdown in the fourth quarter the giant had their final chance, but manning tosse ingram, was incomplete, the final score 34 to 29. the birds clinch a first round bye in the playoffs, our own lesley van arsdall heard from the eagles, at met life stadium after the game. >> well for the most part, we got what we expected, the first round bye and solid performance from nick foles. here's what we didn't expect.

but maybe no one headed to the movies the next couple of days >> it will be good. it will be nice. now i wle bit of couple of raindrops coming down when i was on the skydeck diane our director outside helping out with toyfest this morning said she actually just saw some big wet snowflakes, coming down, outside the studios, well, so as you take a peak at "skycam 3" live here this morning showing you the down near the library and also by saint peter and paul, wouldn't be surprising maybe if you see couple of raindrops and again maybe even few big wet snowflakes, there, early on in the day as an area of low pressure slides its way through the region, the good news for us, though, we won't be seeing precipitation throughout the day. it actually should be mix of sun and clouds, later this afternoon. now, our eyewitness weather watchers they're up early this morning they're showing us some temperatures that are actually not overly cold to start out the day. lots of mid to high 30's across the area here early this morning. and, it is 37 degrees this morning, at jason's house in

middletown, delaware, now he does have fair amount of cloud cover to go along with those temperatures that are little bit above average. and he's looking forward to the mild temperatures later this afternoon as well. thinking about those mild temperatures, ed sent us thisow, this is from yesterday. but you can see lot of snow, already melted, from yesterday and if we do have any residual snow that hasn't melted yesterday expect it to definitely melt today as we see temperatures that could be up maybe even near 50 degrees, later this afternoon. storm scan3 for us, as i said there is a weak boundary just to the south of philly. that's slowly trying to work its way we do have some of that light precipitation that is falling right now across philly maybe into chester county. areas north and west of the city, at this point but you see lots of clear skies back off to the west. and that drier air will eventually work its way in. so, we have quiet week ahead. low pressure slides off to the north as we go through the day today. that's some good news for us, but we do watch this cold front, later on in the week, and while it gets really warm tomorrow it pushes through on

wednesday, so it is a brief cool-down wednesday before we warm things back up for the end of the week. could be looking for temperatures back up near 50 or even 06 degrees by about friday. so 49 today. fifty-eight tomorrow. first day of winter, thursday, we go, little more seasonable there, 40, but then back to 50 's jim rahel as we get toward the ends of the week. >> looks great. thank you very much, matthew. >> well, taking a look at traffic, here is a look at route 422 near route 29 in collegeville. there are no delays here at this time. things are moving along pretty well. there is an accident however on the westbound vine st. expressway off ramp to the ben franklin parkway. the left lane is blocked. so be aware if you are headed out right now. there is also construction scheduled on i95 northbound, this afternoon, between the vine street expressway and cottman avenue. one lane will be blocked from 9:00 to 3:00, i'm sure that will cause some slow downs so take that into consideration. well holiday cards letters, to santa perfectly wrapped packages. >> during the holiday season the us postal service

"eyewitness news" reporter pat gallen, live in cherry hill more on how it all gets done. good morning, pat. >> good morning jim rahel. yes, billions and billions of pieces of mail are going out this holiday season, and of course we know that christmas is just a week away, santa is really good at what he does, but, he needs a little bit of help this holiday season, so that's why we're at the us postal service here in cherry hill this is ray good morning, my friends. >> good morning pat. >> so ray works for the usps. ray what are we seeing happen behind just this building? >> the same kind of activity that is taking place in post offices all across the country you have early morning crew coming in getting all of the packages all of the mail, for delivery today the next couple of days, you know, being a week away from christmas there is will be our heaviest mailing week, probably deliver more than 3 billion pieces of mail this week and an office like this generally they might do about 5,000 packages a day how much

during the mailing season that number goes up to about ten to 12,000 packages a day. >> now what's the process like as soon as you put that piece of mail into the mailbox what happens? how does it get to where it needs to go? >> you drop it in the mailbox. you bring it to a post offers. that will take it to a processing center. that processing center will process that mail. if it is staying local they sends it out to another local post offers in the area, if it is going across the country we ship it across the country it will go to another processing center there. that will hub and spoke it out to a post offers like this. >> how have things changed over the past few years with so much being done now on line you're seeing tons of parcels come through here now not just paper mail any more? >> matt digital technology is revolutionized the way people transact business. so more and more people are being comfortable going on line as opposed to going to a store in line. they go on line, they order these items. and then we're seeing a flood of packages coming in. specially that window between thanksgiving and christmas. >> right. >> we're going to deliver probably about 850 million
