for the winter solsus no less as that is occurring on thursday. but, another very quick turn around, and even warmer, than what we will fine today come this weekend, i'll tell you exactlyly how warm just little later. >> taking a look at traffic right now, here is a look in new jersey, at route 42 freeway, at creek road. this is near i-295 five, no delays, everything moving along smoothly. there is new accident we need to tell but on the pennsylvania turnpike westbound. past bensalem. we're told all lanes are blocked in that area. you may want to avoid that for now. there is also an accident on rose valley road delaware county. the road is closed between manchester road and brookhaven road. you use use wrought 252 providence road as your alternate there. >> federal investigators have revealed this morning the amtrak train that derailed in washington state yesterday morning, was traveling more than twice the recommended speed limit when it jumped the tracks. >> that crash killed at least three passengers, injured more than 70 others. cbs news correspondent kenneth

craig live for us now at dew point shall washington where investigators continue to gather evidence, kenneth, good morning. >> good morning, this is where it is all happening, take a look down the interstate behind me. you can probably see the mangled mess after train now going 50 miles per hour faster than it should have been. >> federal investigators trying to determine what caused the train derailment in washington state, that killed at least three, say, they've recovered the event data recorder from the rear of the train. the national transportation safety board says information so far indicates speed may have played a role. >> preliminary indication cases are that the train was traveling at 80 miles per hour , in a 30-mile per hour track. >> this was the first trip for the new seattle to portland route. one local official says predicted just few weeks ago

that something like this would happen. the town of lakewood mayor don anderson had been very vocal at city council meeting earlier this month, warning of the dangers of utilizing freight rail tracks, for a high speed passenger rail line . >> the tracks were upgraded so they weren't concerned about derailment but rather bringing fast moving train so close to pedestrians's cars. thirteen of the trains 14 cars went off the tracks at an overpass, some tumbling offer the interstate five. >> train just started to just seemed like go off on it side, and then all the sudden it went dark. and stuff started flying around. >> investigators say it may take months before they know precisely what caused the accident. >> the highway behind me came to a stand still yesterday morning, when this all happened, it is still closed this morning, and will be until further notice.

jim, rahel? >> all right, kenneth craig live for just washington this morning, kenneth, thank you ment. in local news, philadelphia police are looking for shooter they say shot and killed a man inside his strawberry mansion home. >> officers rushed to the home on the 6,000 block of west oxford street, just after 8:30 last night. there they found the 27 year old victim shot multiple times in the home's basement, authorities tell us, they heard the gunshots. >> family members were upstairs on the first floor when they heard gunshots coming from the basement. when they went downstairs to check on their family member, that is when they found him, bleeding from the chest and torso, and he was completely unresponsive. >> officials returned the victim to the hospital where he died at last check, no arrests. >> well, imagine decorating your home for the holidays, only to have a pair of thieves steel your set up? >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do live in south philly where this happened to this woman, not just once, not twice, but three times now. trang, good morning. >> well, good morning, rahel,

jim. yep, josephine michetti and her neighbors here in south philadelphia take decorating for christmas very seriously. and displays like this one here on south 13th street, really just show and attract so many admirers, but michetti 's decorations cents people like them so much, that the they actually made off with them. >> i just like decorating. >> it seems the grinch has a favorite target in south philly. >> josephine michetti's house on the 1100 block of fitzgerald street. >> how many times has this happened to you? >> three. >> three times. >> for three of the past five years, people have swiped decorations cents outside of michetti's home. and each time, surveillance cameras caught them in the act >> in that corner, i have a black tree, and i had two white tree here and white tree here. >> around 5:00 a.m. on december 9th, philadelphia police say one man served as a look out, while the other grabbed michetti's large black christmas tree, and two decked out in red, black and silver balls. but he wasn't done yet.

>> and thank you, trang. well, today the house will vote on the final draft after tax reform bill that would overhaul the us tax. >> if it pass it is will go on to the senate from there the president could sign the tax cuts into law. here's cbs news correspondent roxanna. >> reporter: republican lawmakers cleared another obstacle monday in the race to pass their tax plan. after senators susan collins of maine announced her support of the bill. >> well, it is by no means perfect, unbalanced, this reform bill will provide much needed tax relief. >> senator mike lee of utah, another hold out, also declared his support. new non-partisan analysis predict the bill would raise taxes for only 5% of taxpayers next year. but over half of americans would pay more by 2027. the future congress lets individual tax cut expire. >> it is still the case that over time the tax cuts will generally get smaller and smaller.

stephanie creel. i mean, the numbers, ladies, are so staggering. stephanie, what can you tell us about the national diabetes statistics report? - well, the numbers are just that, they're staggering. we know that 30 million americans in our country are living with diabetes, and that's in addition to the 84 million people who are living with prediabetes, which means over a hundred million people in our nation are living with either diabetes or prediabetes. - that's like one-third of the whole country. - that's right, that's right. - you know, when you start thinking about this and the medical cost involved in it, i mean, this is an epidemic that could be so incredibly expensive to us as a nation. - well, diabetes is expensive, and it's not only the medical cost, but it's a number of costs, 245 billion dollars. we cannot sustain that kind of trajectory. and it impacts our workforce. we need a healthy workforce for important productivity. we need a healthy military to defend our country. - as a mom, i was really alarmed to see the spike

street road, then re-enter the turnpike at willow grove. i95 south jammed, because of disable vehicle blocking the left lane there. so, watch out there, there is also an accident involving a pedestrian, at the intersection of federal street and river road in camden. there are no reported injuries , however, there. >> well, ntsb investigators now say the amtrak train that derailed in washington state was feeding when it crashed. >> investigators also say they've recovered the train's data recorder, the train was making the run after new express line between seattle and portland, oregon whether it crashed. three passengers died, more than 70 others were hurt. investigators say information so far indicates that the train was traveling more than twice the recommended speed limit at the time of the crash >> preliminary indications are that the train was traveling at 08 miles per hour, in a 30- mile per hour track. >> investigators say they've not yet finished interviewing the conductor and the crew on board the train. they say it could take month

before know know precisely what caused that derailment. >> strong similarities to the deadly crash on more than two years ago here in philadelphia and that crash, the amtrak train was also speeding. traveling through port richmond, at 106 miles per hour in a zone restrict today 50. since then, technology called positive train control has been installed on all amtrak lines along the northeast corridor, amtrak says washington state rail lines do not have the technology yet. >> positive train control is really a back-up to the human being. the engineer and the cab could be distracted, fatigue, or incapacitated. positive train control is gps train technology knows if trains will delayed with one another or if trains are speeding, over what permitted in that section of track. >> you may recall eight people died in more than 200 people were hurt in that 2015 derail ment in port richmond. >> well, airlines operating out of atlanta airport are expected to resume normal operations today. >> the president of georgia power issued apology yesterday

after power outage caused travel chaos at the airport on sunday. he says, an equipment failure sparked a fire what then caused the outage. hundreds flights were grounded standing thousands of passengers. well, congress is set to vote on the gop tax overhaul, but there are some clear winners, and losers. >> cbs news business analyst jill schlessinger joins us live from new york to explain, good morning, jill. >> good morning. >> jill, let's start off with the bad news. who are the losers? >> well, i hate to say it, but most of us individual taxpayers, because the majority of our cut are going to expire after 2025. so next by eliminating the affordable care act individual mandate, congressional budget offers says, 13 million people would become un inch shoured, and the average insurance premiums on individual et cetera could rise by 10%. and let's say homeowners the one in high tax state being able deduct local property taxes and state and local

income taxes from their federal tax bills, they will now be tapped at a total of $10,000. >> that includes us. new jersey and pennsylvania. >> well, jill, someone always stands to benefit. who are the winners here? >> i think corporations by far are the biggest beneficiaries. the top rate drop from 35 to 21%. and those with dollars off shore are like apple or mike resort, google, johnson & johnson, they're going to be able to bring money home at a far lower rate than the new 21 % rate. but, at 15% up to. >> hash through -- pass- through businesses, partnerships, limited liability companies, they currently take taxes as high as 39.6%. now, a lot of that income will be taxed at a rate as low as just under 30%. it is subject to some limitations cents. and of course, wealthy earners , if your top tax rate dropping from 39.6 to 37%,

that's the heartburn. gastro esophogeal reflux disease or gutter, that's a chronic symptom. if you have your heartburn every day, jim, you might have something called gurd, and we have to take a look at you. >> i take my little nexium, i'm fine, that but i avoid certain types of foods. during the holidays whether are some culprit? >> chocolate. tastes great butt triple woman i, high in fat, cocoa stimulate the acid and the reflux, two, is milk fat. do you like eggnog? >> not big eggnog, but i like mischose. >> have the cheese. milk fat increases gurd then you have also caffeine, caffeine, anything with caffeine can stimulate that. so if you have tree flux disease or heartburn that's right in there. and, alcohol, limited to one, because too much alcohol you're going get reflux, you're going to get some heartburn, but the number one cause of heartburn, fried foods deep fried chicken, french fries, so to avoid

heartburn, eat bake or broiled , not fried. >> people during the holidays got pep ever mins, good or bad >> well, taste good but bad if you have reflux, what happens is it opens up this muscle between our stomach and esophagus, our stomach will feel less full, but the ass lid come back up, not good to have mint s but what you can do that will help, antacid or ginger, ginger so good for nauseous necessary, yes, and natural and it will help if you have the queezy feeling. have some ginger. put in some tea, some camo mile tee, will help feel betterment and the at is its or chewing gum, but avoid pepper mint can it can be make it worse. >> don't eat within three, four hours of lying down or going to sleep. loosen your belt, also, don't eat as much if you can small portions.
