12:11 pm
system. but it is again allowing cloud cover to build locally and then this gets out of here and we're going to stay on the chilly side looking ahead to the solstice for tomorrow. ushering in winter officially. at the wide zoom it's pretty quiet across the mid section at least of the u.s. but snow breaking out across montana north dakota and i across the canadian border and extends all into parts of nevada and california. so let's talk about what comes our way into the up coming weekend we'll look at the rest of the nation when it comes to travel. so we do have a new system that's going to be getting its act together not visible just yet but there will be an area of low pressure off to our south and west. that helps a warm front to lift into our region come friday and into saturday weary bounding by that point with the potential of some rain showers as early as friday night but especially through saturday. notice though had off to the north and west pretty far to the north and west you'd be talking erie, for example central hi ohio upstate new york, that's where the coldest air will be placed that's where you'll likely to see ice or snow. for us this is just a rain
12:12 pm
producer because it's just too warm. then the cold air is going to wrap in behind it. sunday look quiet between systems but if this front decides it's going to stall out close by, and an area of low pressure decides it's going to develop along that, we may end up and it is just a chance we may end up with isn't precipitation wintry mixing on christmas day itself. so again that's something that needs to be ironed out in terms of the pattern and where things decide they're going to go. let's take look at the airport delays. these are current. you're trying to flying out of newark hefty delay over an hour in that area. it's actually wind related up that way. we do vin ray ross the carolinas not poseing any major issues at the big hubs in seat al tell 15 to 30 minute delay at this point. now, looking at the reasons why there's that snow we showed i was moment ago breaking out with winter weather advisories, winter storm watches and warnings across the northern plains and back into montana there's some of flash flood warnings and flood warnings we talk about as well. none of that impacting us.
12:13 pm
we do have the wind speeds though that go along with what we're finding when it comes to the delays out at laguardia and newark. because these wind are definitely noticeable. when that wind blows it it's a adds to chill to the air coming out of the northwest that will continue for the rest of the day adding little hint of a wind chill but overall still a pretty quiet couple of days here before that next storm comes along again that warm front friday into saturday. so for now we're kind of hovering. into the upper 40s. we actually have already seen our daytime high it actually happened before the sun even came up. it was so warm this morning. later tonight though the temperatures get a dose of reality. we bottom out to below freezing. this is where we should be, though. all clear overhead for the most part a few patchy clouds nothing more let's take look at that seven day. so a chill in the air as we officially usher in the winter season tomorrow another rapid turn around talk about whiplash back into spring like territory by saturday. and then bottoming out again in time for christmas. >> this is why we -- >> what is happening on a daily.
