is expected to be okay after being treated here at temple university hospital, tragedy hoe his eight year-old passenger did not survive. in the meantime charges are pend ago begins that driver. cell phone video shows horrifying aftermath of a hit/ run, that killed an eight year-old boy on wednesday. >> unaudible. >> that is awful. >> this crash happened around 1:40 in the afternoon on whittaker avenue. the boy was riding in an older model honda with a 28 year-old driver trying to make a left turn off of whittaker that is when another car which witnesses described as speeding and weaving in and out of traffic, slammed into the passenger side of the honda. >> it was the same accident in the same spot with the truck and bmw and at the light there was another one, in the pennsylvania month there was two. that is third in the pennsylvania month. >> reporter: witnesses told police that the 34 year-old

driver got out, checked damage to his car and hit a park car in his rush to get away. officers later found his car at frontnac and venango, driver then went to aria torresdale hospital to be checked out. >> just horrible. people got to start knowing what they are doing they have to start paying attention to the road especially driving down no matter in the opened, long road we still got to go with the speed limit. >> driver told police he had some kind of a quote diabetic episode that does not explain why he drove off, for now we are live outside temple university hospital i'm trang do for cbs-3 "eyewitness news" , jim and rahel back to you. would be robber end up getting shot in philadelphia just after midnight on the 2200 block of stenton avenue in west oak lane. the intended victim opened fire when a man approached and announced a robbery. he was shot in the wrist and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. police are on the look out for two men trying to abduct two children walking to school

this happened yesterday morning in the lawncrest section of the philadelphia. police say men tried to lure the children into a green minivan as they walk along devereaux avenue. the children ran to cornell elementary and school officials called police. >> one of the people that were in that van were in fact outside of the van, lot looked like he was opening up the hitch going through back part of the van. as children walk by him he made a comment or gesture to get into the car but he said something to the effect of come here, they did the right thing, smart thing, they ran. >> really smart kid there. police say within of the suspects was wearing a green jacket, other all black clothing. nation's capitol now much talk about tax bill business to become much talk about tax law. congress vote add long party lines and passed republican tax reform bill, the bill includes a cut in the corporate tax rate from 35 to 21 percent. it doubles current standard deduction for individual and families and doubles the child

people think of the solstice as having a symbolic meaning, spiritual meaning or certainly indication of the winter, weather, but it is more so about the earth's tilt toward or away from the sun. december 21st when that winter solstice takes place the sunnies at 23.5 degrees south so very far removed from the son's rays and that is why we have a le sun angle as well, and then, months progress and we come up when we are closest allowing for more daylight throughout the day and what is making those days feel so much longer because we have just more light to work with. but that aside, if the cold is there you can get snow, absolutely, we do have a cold in place but we don't have any storm system coming through let alone light system to bring any snow about but with time we will see more wet weather return to the forecast , but for now it is all good, quiet, seasonal beginning to the winter season 44 expected highlight wind flow later tonight we will drop down to 33.

and serena gordon, the mother of a child with diabetes. are the symptoms the same or are they different for type 1 and type 2 diabetes? - the symptoms for both forms of diabetes are the same. your child may be up in the night having to urinate a lot, they may lose a lot of weight quickly, and they certainly may be experiencing a lot of thirst. the situation though is that oftentimes these symptoms either are not present in type 2 diabetes, or in both type 1 and type 2, they can be ignored. - did you see a lot of these symptoms? - i did see a lot of those symptoms, particularly the thirst, the lethargy, the needing to go to the bathroom, and a dramatic weight loss. - what immediate changes had to be made? - we had to take a crash course in learning to live with insulin-dependent diabetes. we had to learn how to give shots. we had to learn how to measure insulin. we had to learn how to count carbohydrates. we had to learn how everything affects your blood sugar because everything affects your blood sugar.
