taking care of us, getting us out the door. >> roadways looking pretty clear so far this morning. that will will change when rush hour hits, but the weather not affecting anything either. >> a nice travel day, if you are traveling for the holidays today. won't be able to say the same thing of course as we head into tomorrow, unfortunately, but let let me take to you some temperatures across the region, starting out your day not as cold as we were yesterday. not dealing with the winds either. that's making for a better start to your friday, 35 degrees, in philadelphia. thirty in millville. still, chilly out there, right so 27 degrees in atlantic city , we're at 25 degrees in wildwood. and then in delaware, looking at 33 degrees in wilmington, it is right around 29 degrees in dover. winds speeds as i told you really not too bad. right around 5 miles per hour out of the east in philadelphia, but calm, into south jersey, also cents into delaware, so not dealing with much in the way after chinned will factor, making it feel more comfortable out there. throughout the day, we remain dry. but the clouds are going to be the dominating feature in our forecast. so we will see limited sunshine, especially as we

head into the afternoon. 46 degrees, by the noon hour. and very mild afternoon. in fact, we will be nearly 10 degrees above average for this time of year. looking at high right around 52 degrees, and then some rain is going to be moving in, as we head into the overnight hours tonight, and also tomorrow. so, you don't have the green light for travel as we head into tomorrow. a mild and rainy saturday is going to be on tap, if you are going to be traveling locally, as we head into sunday, that looks generally dry, christmas eve, a-okay, and then another system will arrive. that's going to bring us chance for rain-snow mix overnight, into christmas morning, we could be talking about couple of morning snowflakes, at least a little bit after mix. we will talk all about that coming up in just a bit. pat? >> sounds good, thank you, chelsey. out to the roadways this morning, little bit of back up schuylkill westbound, move this way, the schuylkill westbound had bun one lane blocked, that's since cleared, but now residual delays headed towards the city of philadelphia, schuylkill westbound south of the vine but it is cleared, this look

like it will get out of here in the next few minutes, ben franklin bridge looks beautiful so far this morning, between camden and philadelphia, my favorite camera that we have available. also the blue route at mid-county, looking nice this morning. so, get out on the roadways if you are starting your weekends , get out there now, no one on the roadways except the schuylkill as i told you. but over to new jersey, 76 westbound near 295, they'll be closing one to two lanes between 8:00 a.m. so this will cause some delays later in the morning they've been clearing this out kind of early fingers crossed they dot same thing here again this morning, but still 8:00 a.m., 66 westbound in new jersey near 295-6789 also, something to tell you about in south jersey, mays landing, route 40 eastbound closed near old egg harbor road, this will be happening until midnight. so use route 322. jim, rahel, over to you. >> thank you, patrick. well, headed out of town for the holidays, millions will be make that trip today. >> in fact, triple a project record travel volume through the ends of the year, trang do

live at philadelphia international airport this morning. good morning, you've already been seeing pretty long lines out there? i have. >> reporter: i've got a lot of company with me here. the line moving but keeps filling right back up. this is the security check point at terminal d and e and, man, has it look like this for the past half an hour, and it is already looking like this so early in the morning, so you can imagine how it is really going to fill up throughout the day, as more and more people catch flights out of philadelphia international airport. and so again, what we are hearing is that this is going to be a record year for travel we can certainly see that here at the airport. but i'll take you overeater to jane, joining us from triple a mid-atlantic. good morning, so talking about how this is record year. why is that? >> reporter: triple a has seen travel volume across all imagine or holidays this year increase there is will be injured rear for year ends travel. we have strong economy, and

consumer confidence is high. so, people are more likely to use their disposable income to spends on travel. >> yes, and certainly doing that here right now. so, you also were telling me earlier, that most people will be traveling by car. right? and so we will be seeing lots of backups, you think this is bad, you think tomorrow will be even worse, right? >> yes. this is busy day for air travel for sure. people want to get out and have the whole weekends to be with family and friends, tomorrow, saturday, is going to be heavy traffic, and congestion, no matter where you're going, you're going to see locals who are ringer around, and doing their last minute holiday preparations, and then you're going see those who are traveling, everyone's going to converge on the highways, as the 09% of holiday travelers will go by cars, triple a is recommending you pack your patience, plan ahead, leave yourselves plenty every extra time to get to where ever your destination is this weekend. >> great. well, thank you so much. definitely awesome advice. pack your patience, actually going to be talking to some of the passenger ers coming up at

6k can talk to them how their travel is going, but yes, even though a lot of people here there is line is moving. so, you know, the people are doing great job here at the airport, and we send it back to you guys, jim, rahel, back to you in the studio. >> see you in a bit, thank you "eyewitness news" has learned seconds person has died from injuries sustained in a fatal hit-and-run accident last week in northeast philadelphia. >> we first told you about the story on december 13, 33 year old man was ejected and killed in the early morning crash at distant street and torresdale avenue in talcony. police confirm the driver of the crash has turned herself in and faces charges in the now double fatal crash. >> philadelphia officials are shutting down some of the popular horse-drawn carriage rides, an orders filed yesterday explains the legal agreement between the philadelphia carriage company, and the sit of philadelphia. now the company will sees operations as of january 1st, and they'll forfeit ownership of the horses to the city. city officials and activists say some of the horses face inhumane boarding conditions. back in june, inspectors classified their 13 street

firefighters, fortunately, though, kept it from spread to go nearby homes. powerful irradic winds and humidity levels near zero are fueling the thomas fire. that fire began over two weeks ago, and is on the verge of becoming the largest fire in california history. well, the sexual misconduct allegations that took down hollywood heavy weight politicians and media stars was rated as the top news story of 2017. that's according to an annual pole by the associated press. president trump's first year in office, las vegas massacre, and multiple devastating hurricanes, were also repeatedly in the news headlines. chelsey, would you know this for sure, but seems we had bad year as far as natural disasters between the hurricanes, earthquakes, the flooding. >> the wilds fires, too. >> wild fires, still raging. >> it has just been absolute mess weather wise, i mean, but we are not too bad here locally today. in fact, we will be drying, especially for those holiday travelers, getting a head start, today it doesn't look

bad at all. let me take to you live look, looking at the city courtesy of palmyra cove nature park, new jersey, this is live neighborhood network, some clouds across the sky this morning, and you can see those city lights kind of making a glow off the clouds. but a dry start to your day. 35 degrees, right now in philadelphia. we don't have too much in the way of wind, so it doesn't feel as chilly that is did yesterday morning. thirty-six right in you wilmington, low 30's in dover, portions every south jersey like millville, it is 27 degrees. dry on storm scan3, and we will stay that way, as we head throughout the day today. you can look for high temperature on a very mild note. in the lower 50's, as we head into the afternoon. but plenty of clouds, those clouds are just going to dominate that forecast today. tracking two systems, as we head into the upcoming holiday weekends. first one will bring us some rain as we head into your saturday. in fact, saturday does not look like the best travel day, even if you're going to be headed up north, you could be dealing with snow up into new england, maybe even icing up that way, as well. and then tracking system

number two, as we head into sunday night and monday. now, sunday during the day, christmas eve, looks just fine , and a-okay for travel. we will see the area of low pressure developing off the coast. that's going to bring just enough snow to bring slushy coating to the i-95 corridor, with the best chance for areas north and west. not talking about much in the way of snowfall accumulation. but just under half inch, as possibility, these are a look at some of the long-range computer models. eyewitness weather seven day forecast, 56 saturday. 45 degrees sunday. then chilly as we head into the middle of next week. pat? >> thank you, chelsey. we get you out on the roadways this morning, and an accident to speak of, this is a look at one of them right here. it is the 22nd street ramp, the vine st. expressway, a tractor-trailer has been in an accident. so crews are on the scene trying to get this out of the way. we can also show you from a different angle, as well, that it is causing some delays through all of the mess hereof lights and such in the construction area, so again, tractor-trailer accident, the westbound ramp from 22nd

street getting onto vine, so you'll have to take alternate route in that area. also, the schuylkill westbound , we had some problems here earlier on this morning, but they've since cleared. so this is a smooth sale, if you're going between south street and the vine street expressway. also, smooth sale on 95, at cottman, is the curve if you are headed towards the city of philadelphia, no delays in this area as of yet. looks like maybe people taking off this morning as they get ready for the holiday weekends also, something to tell but, some debris on the roadway, pa turnpike westbound, right near valley forge, there is some debris. they're trying to clean this out of the way. we'll keep you updated on there is one more thing to tell but, 76 westbound, told but this earlier, going to be out here there is construction in new jersey until 8:00. it is cleared. christmas miracle. jim, rahel? >> there is a santa. >> christmas came little early thank you, pat for a look at newspaper headlines. >> in the mercury proposal to locate sober living facility on north charlotte street in pottstown. will come before the zoning board next week.
