5:14 am
coming down right now in the city, and then out west near lancaster county we are dealing with maybe a little bit more in the way of moderate rainfall. here's what you can expect throughout the day-to-day. period of rain, some of the steady rain will occur earlier in the day and it will end from northwest to southe, as we head into the evening hours but not without bringing us some gusty wind as that cold front moves on through. let me show you what i'm talking about here on future weather. starting at 8:00 this morning you can see pockets of the yellow developing across the region but notice as we head in the noon hours portions of south jersey and northern delaware, central, southern delaware those locations are completely dry, and then we will have another period of rain as we head into the evening hours. so there could be a little bit of the dry break in the afternoon, and then cold front is moving through and that is when we could see gusty winds forming and then we will clear on out as we head in the overnight hours, tonight.

this is system number one. we have another system impacting us as well. here's a live look at center city. you can see wet streets right here on 16th street. you can see that sheen, shine on the pavement there, and at least these temperatures air above freezing. around 45 degrees in philadelphia, same temperature in wilmington. down into south jersey we are in the upper 40's, millville 46, 49 in wildwood, very mild start to your day, upper 30's in allentown. thirty-seven in the poconos. even in the poconos we will be dealing with rain throughout the day-to-day as that first system moves on through. and then here's system number two, that is arriving as we head into the night of christmas eve and also into christmas morning, and here's what you can expect, with that , a very quick shot of precipitation, it is in and out of here in no time, in fact by the time we end up waking up on christmas day if you wake up a little bit on the later side of things around eight or 9:00 in the morning everything will be gone, in fact, we will be
5:16 am
clearing out, we will see sunshine, so very quick shot of precipitation, rain transition go to snow, gradual ly for some, possibly down to the i-95 corridor and still some questions with that though the best chance foreseeing that snow will be north and west of the city and that is our thinking pretty much all week around one to 2 inches of snow possible in the lehigh valley and poconos. period have rain today very mild, a high of 56 degrees, heading into tonight that rain ending and then clearing with a temperature around 38 degrees. sneak peak at your christmas forecast 39, morning snow shower cannot rule that out or a flurry followed by sunny or windy conditions christmas afternoon. if you are heading to the eagles game just be prepared it will feel like the teens with the blustery conditions, 33 on tuesday, and then another chance perhaps a better chance for some snow, jan as we head into the end of next week. >> oh, boy keeping an eye on that one, thanks, chelsea.
