lauren. >> thanks, ukee. it is frigid out here, bone chilling, just out here for couple minutes and feel your skin starting to tingle because of this piercing cold, and check out these wind chill values overnight last night and early this morning. felt like 25 below in mount pocono, and nine below in reading. seven below in atlantic city. we will drop do five below for wind chills in philadelphia and five below in dover. feels like right now five above in philadelphia, feels like four in atlantic city and five below in the poconos, air temperatures, right now in the teens. we are sitting at 18 degrees, 17 in atlantic city. we have 28 degrees in reading. overnight tonight yeah, more cold in store feeling like zero to five below so not feeling quite as awful but still cold. bundle up from head to toe. as we head into mid week watching a powerful storm system nor'easter that will move its way off the coast, models are different on the

awesome. >> reporter: and while you saw there one group, or many people were worried about staying warm during the parade one group in particular had added worry of staying warm but trying to keep their instruments warm. we're talking about the string band people worried about their instruments freezing up. coming up at 6:00 we will show you how they faired during this mummers parade. reporting live from the warm convention center, alycia nieves for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". we will see you then. fire fighters had to bolt huge flames and frigid conditions earlier today at this lehigh county manufacturing plant. fire crews responded to le farming north american cement manufacturing just after 3:30 this morning. fire broke out in some trailers in the back of the plant than main street in white hall. flames engulfed several trailers but there are in reports of injuries. two families were ties to the philadelphia area were killed while on vacation when their plane crashed in the mountains off of costa rica yesterday. one of the victims was a university of pennsylvania student.

eyewitness nice reporter david spunt is following the tragedy from our satellite center tonight, david what do you know. >> reporter: very sad start, many who knew william steinberg and his family finding bout this terrible tragedy. will was a member of the u penn's class of 2021 and students are react to go this sad news. u penn freshman will steinberg and his family were killed, after a single engine plane they were on crashed into the costa rican mountains shortly after take off sunday afternoon. bruce and irene steinberg long with their sons will, matthew and zachary, all died along with five other americans and two costa rican pilots. will was getting ready to spend his second semester on u penn's campus. he was originally from scars dale, new york. >> so devastating because they are great people, and the kid are great and i feel like, i feel like they are the family that lou to to emulate. >> reporter: officials say charter flight was on its way from the resort beach town to the capitol of san jose,

saturday afternoon when it crashed, costa rico aviation official say the plane operatedded by nature air recently passed a safety inspection, and members of the class of 2021, released a statement to "eyewitness news" quote, we are very shocked and saddened, to hear about the death of william steinberg and his family. we still cannot believe that they died so unexpectly. many of us knew will's very closely, and he was such a wonderful person who blessed penn with his amazing smile, every day. together we mourn the death of a friend, a peer and promising scholar who would have went on to change the world. will, we will miss seeing you walk down locust walk, you will forever be in our hearts, may your soul forever rest in peace. mitchell white, his wife, his wife leslie i should say and children hanna and ari were also killed. wise family was originally from montgomery county, most recently they were living in the tampa area the cause of the crash, ukee is still under

investigation. david spunt for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> okay, david, thank you. a 16 year-old boy is facing murder charges for deadly new years eve shoot moving people including his own parents in monmouth county , new jersey. it happened just before midnight in the home on wall street, in long branch. the teenager is accused of killing his mother, father, sister and elderly family friend lived in the family's home. authorities say officers responded after someone inside the home called 911. >> we are investigating this and we are confident it is a domestic incident that completely isolated. >> reporter: investigators say suspect was taken into custody without incident. the teen's grandfather and brother who were also inside of the home at the time of the shooting, escaped unharmed. well, regular season is over and now the eagles can focus on what really matters: winning a championship. team facing some tough questions after yesterday's loss to the cowboys, and as

unbelievably frigid cold too start to 2018. we have clear skies conditions that helped us get so cold during the overnight period, and we do have crystal clear skies right now giving us a good view of the almost, full, moon on our spring garden camera. and we have seen the moon right now 98 percent full. it will be officially full, tomorrow but today, yes, that cold air, it is tough to be outside for more than a few minutes but i know everyone mummers were out this morning. people reveling, with the new year, and 20 degrees was our high temperature. we will start off at 6 degrees this morning, and that was just 2 degrees shy of our record low temperature of four , setback in the 1800's, and morning low this morning, this is just air temperature getting down to 4b low in mount pocono, langhorne one below, reading zero this morning. in in mays landing and 1 degree in chats forward. trying to check in on our neighborhood network. it is frozen but looks cold and feels coal in reading.

temperature is 16 degrees. wind west southwest at 9 miles an hour. add to go that wind chill component. temperatures right now we are in the single digits in the poconos. sixteen in allentown. eighteen in trenton. check out how far south this cold arctic air has penetrated all the way down in florida peninsula, jacksonville it is 37 degrees right now. you know they are in the used to. that we have a wind chill warning and advice rid in effect for large portion of the country, all the way down in the gulf coast and portions of the florida peninsula as we head throughout the overnight period. wind speed right now we still have a bit of the breeze, maintained up around nine or 12 or 15 miles an hour. we will keep up that around 10 e overnight per. future feels like temperature as we wake up tomorrow morning , this isn't motivating , to head back to work after the long holiday weekend it will feel like near zero in philadelphia, one below in allentown and feeling like near zero in millville. one below in atlantic city. as we head throughout the day-to-day high temperatures

will climb in the 20's but wind chill temperatures will not make it out of the teens and it is not cold enough. we will get a reenforcing shot of arctic air, as we head into friday, and it will get even colder, our forecast high temperature for friday, 16 degrees, the coldest ever on that date, 14 degrees, setback in 1904. this cold air is going to move in on the back side of the nor'easter. i know, just more great news, this is just one particular model right now, the models are differing on the exact track. you know how important that is as far as snowfall potential for who or how much but we have a snow chance starting wednesday night, continuing into thursday, winds really starting to whip on thursday but stay tuned to this evolving forecast as far as forecast totals. we will see higher amounts or best chance of snowfall east of i-95 as we head into mid week but overnight tonight, mostly clear, bitterly cold. down to 11. mostly sunny and cold tomorrow , 26 degrees. we make a run at freezing mark
