good morning, jim is off, i'm joe hole glenn i'm rahel solomon. meisha is off. katie and pat are keeping an eye on things. >> blount coming on strong this morning. >> he might be right. we will tell but that in a little bit. traffic wise, a lot of water main breaks. we have another one, over in new jersey, to tell you about, that is three, four this morning. >> oh, my goodness. >> yes. keeping track, pat. >> tis the season, though. when it gets this cold outside you can have these kinds of situations, and, you know, at least storm scan is quiet. you guys mentioned the nor'easter, we will have much more on that throughout the course of the shop, stick with us on that. however, for now, to get you out the door, storm scan is just empty. you have got pretty clear sky out there. and we will expect to see nothing but sunshine for yet another day. but it is a very deceptive, you know, when you see the breitbart sunshine, would you expect it would feel a little warmer. but still really harsh out there. for now, it is obviously still pretty dark, sun yet to rise. but we are going to eventually rebound back into the 20's today. these are the values, though,

i would rather go by. use the windchill, because even though the winds is still relatively light today. any time you feel it, or any time it blows, you will notice it. so, it feels more like it is sub zero almost across the entire board, mill have i at whopping goose egg for feels like, three in wildwood, the best you've got on the coal map. so still really harsh outside. now, as the day progresses, yes, nothing but sunshine. but don't bank on that solar energy doing anything to help warm you up. to up 25 at best today. even despite the sunshine, it won't feel any warmer than that. twenty's, into the early evening, as well, then bottoming out once more into the teens. so for in you it is still pretty quiet. but this cold air is absolutely setting the stage for this nor'easter to bring in some snow. so, we have more on current thinking with the track, how much we will expect to seep, but pat the cold, just not anything that is going away any same soon, and the wind something else that you really can't discount with the upcoming storm system. >> you know what's isn't going away any time soon? rush hour. it is getting messy out there

today. we have a disable trash truck on the schuylkill expressway, this is eastbound, this is right near the south street ramp. it is causing some back-ups right here. as we head little further north to the vine. starting to see the volume levels rise, no delays as of now, between the 95, between 95 and the schuylkill, but again, starting to build here, at 03:00 a.m. in the morning. and we have this, as well, on the boulevard, roosevelt boulevard at lever i can street. the lights, stuck on red. the boulevard already not the biggest mess in the world, this will add to it, also, another water main break, over in cherry hill. cooper landing road closed at snyder court. use haddonfield road to get around. >> this we have the two other, as well, northeast philly, win at minden road at medford road , bad one, about 125 homes are involved this with this one, trang do is live on the scene. we will talk to her. harriton road near grant avenue, right near the northeast philly airport, some problems with these frozen pipes this morning, joe.

>> pat, as you mentioned, we will get some more on the breaking news, right now, that water main break we are talking about is in northeast philadelphia park wood section >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do just pulled up to the scene where we've learned more than 100 homes are without water. trang, apparently that is just part of the problem. what can you tell us? >> oh, yes, rahel, joe. i'm actually inside one of those 125 homes. that will are affected by this water main break. and at medford road, minden road. here go. let me show you here, basement of one of the homes here. just covered in mud after this water main break happened, sometime after 3:00 a.m. this morning. many homeowners waking up to this. here is one of them. this is tom? >> how are you doing? >> tell me what happened. >> i woke up in the middle of the night. there was a foot of water in the basement. and the water department came out. they shut the water off. and here i am now. >> wow, were you telling me that your car was also affected, too? >> yes, my car won't start.

flames during a house fire in the glennside section of abington township montgomery county. brian sullivan with the rosalynn fire company, casting the battle on camera. firefighters responded to the fire call around 4:00 yesterday afternoon. near pleasant and cottage avenues. there were no reported injuries, the search for cause is underway. >> well the new year begins with gun violence in philadelphia. overnight drive-by shooting sent two people to the hospital in germantown. the shots were fired in the 5100 block of germantown avenue. they say man was shot in the head and neck. and a woman was shot in the leg. well, they're in stable condition. so far there have been no arrests, no clear motive. >> and more gun violence this time a 19 year old man fighting for his life in north philadelphia. the shooter opened fire, in the 2200 block of north 23rd street. just before 11:30 last night. police say the teen was struck six times, including once in the head. the victim remains in critical condition. >> and we now know two families with ties to the philadelphia area were among

there? don't discount the winds and cold, first thing i say, the other is yes, it looks as though we are at least dealt glancing blow in the storm system whether it comes to small fall totals, a new england, atlantic canada storm system. well, where is this nor'easter if it is supposed to be hitting by tomorrow night? it hasn't really start today develop just yet. at least on the radar, it needs a little time here before it starts to show it hands. it will be very rapidly developing and intensifying, meantime this windchill so widespread, look how many states are sitting in windchill advisory or warning, almost the entire, actually, i don't think there are, not even one state, say, for part of our area, that is not sitting currently in a windchill advisory some kind. it is so harsh, and, certainly , not alone in this we take a look early tomorrow morning look what happens over

the span of time it, really starts to get its act together , starts to look a little bit like a hook, can't i cane, whatever you want to call it but even as early as 10:00, 11:00 tomorrow night the snow beginning to break out at least near the shore we think much of thursday watching this sort of clip the coastline, and then continue on it path, very windy, very cold, track is everything, when it comes to how much snow but our first official be? at snowfall map. i will put this out as a pref ands, pref ankles, this may need to be updated because track is key. but thinking generally to up about 3 inches give or take at the shore line. that's where the sweet spot will be, when it comes to snowfall amounts, but it is enough to shovel away certainly, and then come friday, as this is all out of here, the sun is back, but this is really harsh, even colder, than what the new years day brought us, pat? >> from messy forecast to the messy roadways, in the philadelphia area, this is the

every all of the water gushing out, that immediately froze over, because of these extremely frigid temperatures, now, take a look here into this driveway. you can see what damage has been done here because every all of this gushing water. two cars here the homeowners were able to get out of the drive in time. but unfortunately there is car here, this car is inoperable right now because it was just covered all the way up to the front wheel in water, take a look at the video, one of the home ends here allowed is inside his home, you can see the damage in his basement here many of the driveways are slopedment so all of this gushing water just went downhill right into these basements, extensive damage, muddy, just things covered in dirt, and here is tom gays, who explained to us how he recognized that something was going on in his homement take a listen.

you only have dollars medications that you use. >> okay. >> in fact you shouldn't even use medicine cabinet in a bathroom, because of the moisture, and make appointment for your doctors, whether you need dental appointment, eye doctor appointment, immunization, good behavior, also we're a tired society. start getting more sleep. obesity, depression, high blood pressure, we need to sleep more. >> on the shift here. >> easy things to do, right? >> so if your goal involves breaking a bad habit, that's probably where it takes the most motivation. >> it does. you know, so late night eating , for me, so what i do, one of my friends says we put monday nay little pot. each time you want the snack, boy that really grows up, buy a pair of pants or something, but replace bad habits with good. it takes about two weeks to start a new habit. so, for example, if we want to troy to quit smoking or drinking too much, every time we reach for it, substitute a good habit for it. give it two weeks, established new good pattern. >> plus, hearing a lot this
