then you are braving some bitter cold weather yet again. here's a look at a frozen franklin square fountain. it's not all bad.n3 check out this h gorgeous sunset here captured by our cape may camera this evening and while it may look beautiful another wintry mix is on the way just in time for monday evening commute this time. lauren casey you've been track ing that >> every week it's something. good news, bad new, temperatures are going to warm up. we finally kick out this artic air mass but we warm things up just in time for some moisture to move in and now we have a freezing rain threat. but this morning it was all about that cold. all of these are records that we set this morning. either broken or tied in atlantic city we dropped down to 3 blow. that's the air temperature, not the wind chill. trenton dropped down to 2 blow, reading same thing, wilmington, 2 this morning and four in philadelphia ties the previous

low temperature record, a bitter cold start to the day. temperatures right now in the teens. at least we didn't have the biting freeze. 17 in philadelphia. 8 in allentown, 9 in mount pocono, but this is about the coldest we're going to get throughout the overnight period. that's a piece of good news. temperatures are starting to re bound now across the frozen south. we're going to see some warmer air in place that some ridging that will allow our temperatures move in. a winter weather advisory in effect now for much of the delaware value, 1378 until 9:00 p.m. tomorrow in effect for the shore and central delaware. threat temperatures going to be hovering right around the freez ing mark. some late day freezing rain, maybe some periods of light snow and sleet and we could see some light accumulations possible that could cause a very slippery evening commute tomorrow. we'll talk more in detail about the timing of the freezing rain coming up in just a few minutes. thank you so much.

eyewitness news has learned of one school closing tornado watch form already, the atlantic city school district will be closed on monday much please make a note of that. a water main break turns the vine street expressway into a sheet of ice. an 8 to 12-inch main broke just about 35:00 a.m. near the 17th street bridge in a parking garage. water flowed down to the expressway causing the icy conditions that forced officials to ultimately shutdown the road. authorities say the problem was complicated by the possibility of other leaks or breaks. we're not sure if it was coming out of the garage or just coming out of the road and spreading out around this area, so 17th and callowhill we do have icy conditions and we're looking to see if we can find something further down towards 676. there could be a possible second leak somewhere. the westbound lanes reopened just before 9:00 this morning, the eastbound lanes remained

closed for several more hours as crews continued to try to fix the problem. also tonight mourning the loss of a hero. the community responds to the death of a firefighter after a blaze destroys a north philadelphia row home. eyewitness news reporter shanty lands is now live out of the colorado street home where a resident also lost their life in that fire as well. ashante. natasha i can tell you investigators back to the scene today to try to figure out how this fire started. meanwhile, multiple communities are mourning the loose of their own firefighter. investigators returned to the scene of the 2200 block of colorado street where the row house fire claimed the life of a firefighter. 42 year old lieutenant matthew large audience turn oh died from his injuries after a floor collapsed trapping him. a man who lived inside the house also died.

neighbors say he lived there for more than a decade. i just met him. he wanted me to clean his yard out. pedro gomez has been inside his home. it was never stable to begin with. nearby on north 26th street bunting hangs outside of the fallen firefighter's station, the flag at half staff for the 11 year veteran. a similar scene in lieutenant latino's hometown. this was a huge hit. emt jason thompson was one of many lieutenant large audience turn oh's meant ease. they're all going to be benefiting from him forever. across town neighbor christina a lee a said he was giving and had a big heart. he was a very handy guy. you never think something like this would happen. it's a big shock. it's definitely a big shock.

record low temperature setback in 2014. getting a live look at center city philadelphia it is still frigid as has been the trend forever. southerly winds at 13 miles per hour. it is going to help warm us up as we head into the next couple of days. we are keeping an eye on this weather system that will provide us that moisture as we head late daa into tomorrow and provide us with that wintry mix chance, but overnight tonight, partly cloudy , 16-degrees because we'll actually be slowly warming throughout the overnight period up to 33 to. feeling much better, but with temperatures hovering around the freezing mark buy will see a wintry mix, possibly some sleet as we head into the second half of the day. as we head into the early afternoon hours, western suburbs , midafternoon and we'll start to see the traverse on the i95 corridor late afternoon right in time forth rush. again seeing some periods of

snow, sleet and freezing rain looks to be the main presip type as it continues to move across the area and then kind of transferring over to liquid rainfall mainly for the shore as we head into the second half of the evening, but it could be a very slick and slippery commute for late day commute. so keep that in mind. we could see some light accumulations of ice not going to cause problems in the way of bringing power lines down, but even if you get about 400th of an inch of ice, that little can cause big problems on the roadway. still watch out for some slushy spots. the pm commute, that's going to be the one that's going to going to be the challenge. be sure to plan ahead, take it very, very slow. as we head into tuesday and and wednesday, no weather problems, temperatures back into the 40s. finally back to average. we're in the 50s on thursday. people are going to be wearing

swim suits, breaking out their bikinis, it's going to be 59 on friction although a pretty soggy looking day. it's looking like a dryer and dryer looking forecast for the birds play off game. the temperatures might be getting a little cooler, 40, 30s and dry. we'll take it. we'll take anything at this point. we know who the birds are playing, the falcons. how much do the odds makers have for the eagles. the falcons are two and a half points favorite over the eagles. the sixth seed falcons last night went on the road and beat the rams. pen charter mat grad threw a touchdown to put the game out of reach. the falcons won 26 to 136. mat i ice coming back home to take on the eagles. it doesn't matter where we're going, we're going. i'm just happy for our team.
