solid in places now since the frigid weather began last wee week. and it's not over just yet. meteorologist lauren casey is monitoring wintry mix headed straight for us. lauren. >> we had to close out on wintry end to all of this we could not just warm temperatures up. it had to be dramatic, of course, we it winter weather advisory in effect 1 p.m. to the p.m. until midnight down the shore and central and southern delano little we'll see threat of light wintry mix developing second half of monday. temperatures pump up hovering near freezing mark. we see is late day freezing reign and snow and sleet and light icing is possible. the main portion of this threat that will be problematic is the timing of this. and during our monday evening commute all this start to move in during the afternoon. late afternoon and evening hours. so we could see light snowfall accumulations to the far north

and west and low wind threat. good news there because we have a freezing rain threat that will be fairly moderate. we could see light icing and again timing of all this will yield high impact to again monday evening commute. we'll breakdown timing in more detail and let you know when temperatures climb back to 40s for the first time since christmas and also climbing up to near 60. in the mean time we're focusing on the storm and already seeing school closings and delays running right be neeth me. i'll have the latest on the coming up, natasha. >> fol breaking news out of wilmington, delano little tonight. new castle county police say a man and dog are stranted on the ice on brandywine creek. now eyewitness news at south park drive and south market street where emergency responders are working on a rescue at this hour. so far police say the man and dog have not entered the water but the ice did break apart as the the man wept to rescue the

right around 4 a.m. in center city near 17 and calohill street. >> we believe it's a water main break on or possibly 12" main we're working to determine that and water seems to be escaping from here to expressway. >> for hours the vine street express way near broad had to be closed both sides because of water from the main break flowing on to it causing icy conditions. right around the time the expressway opened up, philadelphia water crews were called to deal with this break large wood street in west philadelphia. app 8" break was here and had crews working all night. >> it was kind of inconvenience but arctic chill what can you do. >> there's been so many water main breaks like this in norm philly outside the uptown theater and this on west illinois street in owing an section. the city water department crew cannot keep up. weddle jordan was waiting 7

southwesterly wind 8 miles an hour and southerly component to wind blow will help warm temperatures up gradually and you can see temperatures starting to improve south. we'll start to lift in. wind chill temperatures don't feel great. 5 above in philadelphia. feeling like 4 below mount pocono and near zero dover. that's not shocking anymore, yeah it's like normal temperatures in live neighborhood network at 9 in mays landing and twelve one of the warmer spots now in wayne and overnight tonight partly cloudy, 16. we're going to be slowly warming throughout the overnight period. and it won't get colder. high temperatures tomorrow hey we're in the 30s. 33 degrees. but with temperature offer whoing around the freezing mark we'll see areas of wintry mix develop as we head into the second half of day. so pretty quiet now storm scan 3 a couple flurries over portions of north western nng energy and here's our system upwind you see bringing snow and wintery mix to parts of

midwest. rainfall down towards tennessee valley and future weather showing us we're looking good for monday morning commute. as we heed into afternoon hours the short range models speeding up a little more. so snow and wintry mix working far north and west of city by 1, 00 approaching i-95 corridor around 3, 4:00 in the afternoon. and then pushing into south jersey about 4, 5, 6:00 in the afternoon and then town the shore best chance to see liquid rainfall as opposed to wintery mix. as we head into the seconds half of evening. and before all the moisture moves out as we head to about 10, 11:00 at night and we could see snowfall ak laces again manly far norm and west of city could pick up inch of snowfall or slush but we could see ice accumulations not worried about any power outages or power lines being down and tree branches being down and could create slick companies on the roadways. expecting a tenth of inch or less of ice accumulation and
