12:19 pm
a drenching stole storm trigge triggering flooding and mudslides. fire crews are rescuing people trapped in flood waters and flowing debris. evacuation orders conversation the same neighborhoods affected by last month's historic wildfires. the debris and the mud has made -- been made worse by laste by the fire's aftermath. those people can't get a break out there. >> it's really sad. >> when the wildfires come through it parches that -- there's nothing to absorb all of that. >> no vegetation to soak it up. everything just runs off. just terrible. >> here at home everybody seems to have an extra spring in their step. >> well done. >> it's going feel like april by the end of the week. >> i'm here for you. >> comes with trade off. >> okay. i never heard anybody so excited about rain than everybody on twitter. yeah. it's definitely looking up. we had fog as an issue earlier on this morning and actually want to show i was time lapse. to start things off. go outside to live neighborhood network you're looking at current conditions right now.
12:20 pm
little bit gusty this is a time lapse that goes back about seven hours or so. so it was oval yously before the sun came up i'll put things in motion for you take look how the fog developed in those last few hours and then you'll also see how the sun goes across the water look at that isn't that cool how the angle just crosses through on the shot and shadows move. i think it's cool any way. i geek out over that kind of stuff. we're facing south here so very much spot you'll see bright sunlight. we're facing this direct but now things have cleared out bright blue sky here and everywhere else. for the most part. little hint of a breeze certainly picking up out there with those gusts reported in the network but also generally seeing wind speeds into the teens right now we'll get to that too. but it's genuinely quiet otherwise now that the sun is back starting to see with time little more of a southerly push much area flow that will allow these temperatures to rebound. here's that storm we were just talking about. you can even see the circulation just offshore southern california here. so very drenching rain being
12:21 pm
just shoved on shore from the pacific and that's what's going to lead to potential flooding. at least here locally we're sitting quietly for the next day and a half. as the temperature begins to rebound, all we'll see take place is some good snow melt get rid of that six plus inches worth of snow that is still on the ground across a good portion of new jersey. but by week' end new storm brewing. that is going to be you shoring in the warmth but also the rain. especially friday. so this is model's interpretation how it all shakes out but as early as thursday overnight and then into friday you'll want to keep umbrella on stand by. there is colder air on the back side of this storm just depending on how quickly it moves out, how quickly the cold air reaches us, we could see a little hint of icing perhaps in the far north and western counties, i don't expect that in fact we probably have fewy. lingering showers early saturday morning. then it gets out of here and temperatures gradually begins to decline. which of course is an important thing to be paying attention to
12:22 pm
since we got big playoff game down in south philly on saturd saturday. at the moment it's looking heck of a lot warmer than that game against the cowboys did. we should be in the 40s but we'll also keep the clouds around that's the expectation as it currently stands. we are thawing out. that warmth when you start to see these brighter colors the reds, the orange, the yellows lifting north, you know the warmth is coming along on its heels. there will be eventual be a chill that sets in in the wake of that storm that comes in friday to saturday. but for now, we're just warming up. the problem is, the overnights at this point still. anything that melts the rest of the day today if it doesn't completely dry up, it could refreeze again overnight not major concern but it's something you want to keep an eye on. here's a look at the wind speeds i mentioned it was blowing my hair around on the sky deck. it really does feel ballmer by comparison. this is where we should be though. guys 43 the daytime high. very close to that already. but look at how much warmer it's
12:23 pm
about to get. there will be rain on friday but that's a warm very april like day at 60 degrees. then we do start to cool off again this weekend. >> after what we've had a little rain never hurt anybody. >> i'm with you. >> katie, thank you. >> prince harry and fiance' meghan markle are visiting a london radio station second official event as couple. >> they arrived at represent radio just a short time ago according to kensington palace the couple there to learn more about using music and radio for social change. represent is known as a forward thinking station geared towards london's youth. the couple set to wed on may 19th. we're coming right back. stay with us.
