of the kentucky, and turning road, into skating rink s, the dashboard camera video shows it slamming in the police car. icy find in heart county a major pile up closed part of that interstate for hours. for most of us here the big concern, tomorrow morning 's commute. good afternoon, i'm jessica dean. i'm ukee washington. you may want to give yourself extra time to get to work in the morning. meteorologist kate bilo's tracking the storm. who is first to get hit with snow in our area. >> this morning as i mentioned there is a sneak attack dusting in some locations around the city of philadelphia, portions of montgomery, bucks, chester counties we had a dusting this morning. poconos and lehigh valley as well with that first batch of snow showers. with the main event it is poconos and northwestern lehigh valley seeing snow first and it will slowly, slowly start out, through the remainder of tonight. see the snow orient add long frontal boundary not really moving much at all looking steady snow in eastern kentucky, west virginia,

central pennsylvania, and then just now, starting to make its way in to portions of our region. poconos and lehigh valley and portions of berks county seeing snow right now. notice how it is not movinge, but just streaming from, southwest, to northeast, and along that same line, through the next couple of hours. so steady snow right now is just starting to push into lehigh county, down into berks county we are seeing snow in the poconos and right along 476 that is where the slowest commute is this evening. that is where winter storm warning has been issued for poconos, that goes now until 11:00 o'clock tomorrow morning , winter weather advisory until early tomorrow morning. philadelphia and points southe , no watches or advisories for us, this snow will take its time getting in. so 9:00 o'clock tonight it is still in the same exact spot and mount pocono right down through portions of the lehigh valley and berks county. finally by later tonight we will see this coastal piece of energy take over, and that will eventually draw the snow, east, could start as a little bit of the mix of rain and snow around 3:00 a.m. but

steady snow for us here in philadelphia is between about three and 7:00 just in time for first part of that morning commute. so here's what we're thinking as far as snow amounts are concerned. three to 6 inches closer to six in the poconos. three in the lehigh valley. one to three in philadelphia. point northwest, and closer to an inch in philadelphia, closer to three in upper bucks , montgomery county and coating to an inch at best down the shore in delaware some spots may not see any snow at all. this is mainly a northwestern storm but timing wise, it will cause some problems around the city. we will have more on the timing and i will tell guy news a warm up in our future coming up in the seven day forecast, for now, back to you kate, thanks very much. looking live at bethlehem northampton county where the snow is, coming down, there. this is one spot that could get 3 inches before the storm wraps up tomorrow. >> and the philadelphia streets department says it is ready for another round, "eyewitness news" was there as plow trucks loaded up with the salt, streets department had 70 trucks and 40,000 tons of

salt available. a salting is the number one priority with this storm, however, crews will be prepared to plow, if necessary and it is not just philadelphia road crews all across the region are getting ready for this latest blast. >> alycia nieves is in camden county tonight, alycia. >> reporter: ukee and jessica from here and new jersey parts of the delaware to all over pennsylvania, and crews have been out all day preparing some, since last night, now this salt barn just behind me here there were a line of salt trucks a few hours ago those trucks have moved on, they are outside on the roadway pretreating them all over camden county. snow preparations are underway , all over the region, in norristown this penndot salt barn has been filling up salt trucks since late last night. >> we started pretreating about midnight tuesday, and, after those squalls moved in with snow we pretreated again. >> reporter: about 450 penndot salt trucks and plows are out throughout the greater philadelphia area dropping

4,000 tons of salt a long road ways as more measurable snow is on the way. so far this season penndot's greater philadelphia district has had to use more than 40,000 tons of salt, to keep the roadways safe during this busy snow fall season. >> we have had about seven or eight or nine events where we have dispatched trucks and used salt. we are getting a number of events back to back, so take a toll on our supply. >> reporter: pen does has not had to reorder salt just yet but over in new jersey in camden county, we had been, frequently reordering the salt , and trying to keep as much as possible here. >> reporter: the continuing snowfall for december has streets department, continuously to run out of salt. they have had to place three order in the past month right now this salt barn in lindenwald has 3,000 tons of salt and it is still unclear, if that will be a enough for the season. >> anything is possible, with this snowstorm coming, and, you know, fluxation in temperature because it is warm

my phone and my desk top computer and attempted to get ticket. we could not get through. >> reporter: ryan is one of the countless eagles fans who unsuccessfully tried to buy tickets to the nfc championship home game on sunday against minnesota vikings, and it is no wonder, ticket sold out in just seconds. >> unfortunately that is just way thing go. >> reporter: with resale demand so high philadelphia police are warning both ticket holders and buyers to be careful. >> every game eagles get 100 to 200 cases of fraudulently used or attempted to be used tickets. >> reporter: which is why the captain kenbrew said department launched a specialized units. detectives are hoping to stop scammers by beefing up their investigation that is will hopefully lead to more arrests >> it is difficult. i know long range goal, to bring in as many arrests and work their way up food chain to see who is at the top of these type of scams. >> reporter: he says selling fraudulent tickets happens in one of two ways by criminals duplicating bar code from

legitimate tickets that excited fans post on line on social media, the other is a bogus made counterfeit ticket and because these games are more expensive police expect sunday's game final showdown before the super bowl can bring out even more scammers. >> significant problem, you know, and it is a shame because person that, the victim of this scam there is very little redress that is available to them other than, possibly when it goes to the criminal justice system. >> reporter: number one piece of advice philadelphia police gave is to make sure you know for sure thaw are buying from a reliable source. that is very latest live outside linc, chantee lans for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> all right, thanks, chantee. back on "eyewitness news" as we track a wall of white, a cold front will bring measurable snow to parts of the area overnight and into tomorrow. kate will be back with her winter forecast for new just a few minutes. and investigators in montgomery county are using, science to match a face to the dna profile of an alleged sexual predator. the suspect is wanted for sexually assaulting a woman in norristown farm park last summer. "eyewitness news" reporter greg argos is live at the scene of that attack in norristown with details, greg. >> reporter: and jessica, good evening. this is relatively new technology, it has only been around for about three years and has never been used here in montgomery county, but it

has produced this image of the , and lead to an arrest of the rape suspect. it is been nearly six months since police say a 19 year-old woman was sexually assaulted at norristown farm park, dragged in the brush and then raped at gunpoint. >> this is a case that keeps us up at night. we need help. >> reporter: with the casing cold, investigators now trying out, new technology. >> we need to solve this. we need help, in solving this. we hope that this tool will give us, an identification on somebody. >> reporter: montgomery county district attorney kevin steel in west noriton township police announced they spent between three and $4,000 creating this suspect's sketch >> this is an effort, that we are making, to try to get a lead. >> reporter: computer generated image based solely on dna that the suspect left behind, the process is called

dna feno-typing. >> we have thousands of tests. >> reporter: speaking of skype , doctor that built this technology says it is extremely accurate. >> it has been tested through evaluations and all of those case is it has been oh, my goodness that looks so much like that person. >> reporter: these two rape and murder suspects from massachusetts and texas both caught last year because of their dna derived images and steel hopes he can have the suspect in this sex assault to that list. >> the key to this is just trying to get the public to give us a hand, if there is somebody that they know that looks like this. >> reporter: that was greg argos reporting for us. new developments in the russia investigation. >> the new york times reports special counsel robert mueller has subpoenaed steve ban on to testify before a grand jury. the revelation comes on the same day president trump's former chief strategies was on capitol hill, to testify in the house's russia

investigation. today's meeting was private. kate bilo joins us now and as everyone looks to tomorrow really for the commute that it sounds like the snow will really impact. >> this is in the a big storm for us. this is not a lot of snow but as we have seen with other storms it depend when they hit if the storm hit on a saturday afternoon at 2:00 not a big deal. but hitting at five and 6:00 a.m. >> heart of the commute. >> yes, exactly. we will have problems tomorrow morning especially around the city for morning commute, and then it will push out to seae pretty quickly so that should be the only commute impacted by this system at least in philadelphia although this evening anyone heading out and about in the northeastern lehigh veil and poconos is encountering wintry weather. a few spots had a sneak attack snow earlier this morning. lets look at is what happening right now we will go outside to high atop place one apartments in plymouth meeting , where there is no snow just yet, you can see traffic there looking at several different roadways but this commute not impacted in

plymouth meeting but as you head further to the north, on 476 you will be encountering some snow. and speaking of snow here's time lapse from this morning, in the reading area, this is wittfield elementary school early this morning at 7:00 a.m. they woke up to snow and snow was falling for first hour or so at a good clip and then it stops, snow backs off, and then most of it melts, you can see grass again, they have plowed, the parking lot here at the school and now snow has pick up once again in reading and it is 33 degrees as that moisture starts to work its way back in. take a look at this front, cold era long this arctic boundary and it extend from portions of new york state, right on down into south texas and louisiana. currently snowing near houston , snow in portions of southern louisiana up through deep south and into our region so this front impacting a wide swath of the eastern half of the country. for us mainly northwest right now but overnight we will see that snow moving south and east. in allentown, reading, up

toward mount pocono and scranton wilkes barre area we are seeing snow falling, it is light but will continue through tonight and tomorrow morning and eventually that will start to pile up. temperature wise, it got relatively mild here today. we had breaks of sun in philadelphia, 43 degrees. forty in millville. that has dropped to 37. forty in wildwood. cold enough for snow in mount pocono at 27. because it was mild today this may start as a little bit of rain or a mixture of snow and rain before changing over to all snow. here's what it looks like is there the boundary and then this coastal piece starts to move up and eventually these two join into one larger scaled system. this is at 1:00 a.m. still most of snow off to the north and west but by 5:00 a.m. it is over city snow and rain mixing down the shore changing over tie brief period of all snow. here's 9:00 a.m. by 10 and 11:00 that is off the coast. timing wise through 10:00 o'clock tonight it is in the poconos and lehigh valley. between 10:00p minute and 2:00 n the northwestern suburbs,

steady snow for city is between 3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. it is an inch in the city. most of our models are confirming that some are on the low side but most of these right around an inch in philadelphia but again, it is timing of this that causes the problems. here's got news though we have warmed it up, after this system tomorrow's chilly, thursday as well, and then we will start to jump back to the 40's on friday and near 50 on saturday and then into the 50 's we will go on sunday, just in time for the eagles game, it is going to be fantastic and we will move that eagles over to sunday but we know when game is and take a look at that temperature 53 degrees with sunshine on sunday, rain possible monday but it looks like it will hold off for most of the weekend. >> that is pretty nice. >> warming it up, kate. >> all right, kate, thanks very much. still ahead, how mcdonald's is going green and we're in the talking about the shamrock shakes. also coming up people are lining up for air jordan throw backs but these have an interesting twist, don. speaking of air, one

, and,. and, and, they are now facing torture and childhood endangerment charges after their 13 children were found, malnourished, and some were chained inside their home. parents david and louise turp in were arrested after their 17 year-old daughter got out and called police. they are being held on nine million-dollar bail each and investigators say they are being treated at area hospitals, the children range in age from two to 29, but neighbors say most of them appeared younger. >> they have gone through a very traumatic ordeal, i can tell you that they are very friendly and i believe that they are hopeful that life will get better for them. >> state record show that the siblings were home schooled and that the father was listed aspirin of a day school at the same address. the parents are expect to be in court on thursday. the unexplain death of the cranberry's lead singer is not being treated as suspicious. british police said today they

they are tracking conditions all across the area we will start off with a look at temperatures right now across the region. you can see temperatures not that bad. close to normal even above average today in a few spots. at jeff's house in hatfield it is 38. jerry's 39. eileen in gilbertsville a chilly 34 but in the 40's in levittown at bill's house. landingberg gary at 37. david mitchell in norristown at 39 degrees. so not actually all that bad. but lynn sent thus progression of the photos showing how day started off with a good deal of sunshine outside, and then cloud filtered in and by the time sun prepared to set you can see it is overcast sky out there the cloud starting to proliferate as this system approached, and bill sent this shot of the beautiful sunset but again a lot of cud cover in place, and that is all we saw around the city and suburbs today, didn't see much in the way of snow except for a dusting in a few spots, early this morning but seeing a little bit more than that in our far north and western zones. lets check with bernville counts

time lapse starting at 7:00 o'clock this morning. you can watch as the snow comes down lightly intermittently on and off all day long, just some cloud and then another round of light snow and then some cloud and another round have light snow and sun has set and currently 38 degrees, the snow is still falling so coming in fits and starts lightly but when we talk about snow flurries, better part of the 24 hours even fit is intermittent it will pile up a bit. storm scan three shows how this front extends down into portions of the deep south a very rare snow day for folks in south texas, southern louisiana as well and that is moving through tennessee, north caroline, down toward atlanta this evening, and they are more strangers to this kind of weather then we are, i don't think we will have much in the way of snow day possible, possibly some delays , depending when snow comes through and how quickly it clears out. you can see snow falling across the lehigh valley, falling likely in the poconos. steadier snow is on the way.

winter alerts followed this all the way through the eastern half of country and that purple being the weather advisory, pink winter storm warning and it is northwestern half of the viewing area that is under advisories and warning tonight. warnings only for poconos. so here's what to expect at 9:00 tonight, snow still lingering to the north and west. by 1:00 o'clock it starts to permeate southward and could start as a mix and then we will see snow at 50 that will continue seven or 8:00 before it moves off the coast by 11:00 a.m. and cloud giving way to sunshine in the afternoon. quick hitting system what to expect after 10:00 o'clock that is when snow spread south e, steady is early tomorrow morning in the city, and moves off shore. light snow. concerns are with the timing. even it is only a inch in philadelphia which is looking likely it will hit just as first part of that morning commute, a brief coat to go as much as an inch down the shore and three to six in the northern and lehigh valley in the poconos. here's good news we will get cold air out and milder air will start to take over, as we head into the weekend, and we
