anything else. the storm is reminder that winter is still in full swing. good afternoon i'm rahel solom solomon. >> i'm jim donovan. let's get right to it with meteorologist katie fehlinger who has been tracking the wintry weather all morning long. katie, is the storm moving out. >> working it's way out of here. we're telling with residual lingering snow showers out that. anything that's left is not going to amount to very much at this point. very light precipitation. we started off by showing i was shot from our pocono camera network this is up cove haven rt which is just on banks basically of lake wallenpaupack. they got hit very are a. now this isn't necessarily a ski reso but it is up in ski territory. you can hear them rejoicing at the resortsrom all you will the way down here in philly. this was really good jackpot of snow for those areas. but you notice how there's some decay on the way this is all working through now. for the most part we're really justone wh the worst of anything that rolled through since this morning now it's all about cleaning up from here but that poses its own set of threats here and issues as you

travel but the back edge of the snow still working its way out of new jersey as we speak. in this thee hour loop that's repped looking at our live neighborhood network temperatures readings it's below freezing pretty much everywhere. at least hovering near it. so don't expect that you'll get much higher than that on the thermometer the rest of the day. in short that means you have to just use common sense here. for the rest of today. skies will try to clear we might even see sun before it's all said and done farther north and west but pretty chilly out there. certainly breezy. with daytime highs at best the rest of the day into the 30s. that will keep thing a little slick and a little slow for the rest of the afternoon. so you do need to still take it easy even if the snow has stopped falling and things look clear it may not necessarily be the case. you got to take it easy and speaking of we sent lauren casey out in the cbs3 mobile weather watcher to get a check how thing are looking. we find her in mt. airy right now. how is it looking, lauren? >> reporter: it's looking a little snow cover, katie, yeah, the scene is very pretty, thou
12:03 pm
though. the trees are covered with that light snow. woods see areas. i'll give you a look at the roads right now. roads are still snow covered at least the side roads here in mt. airy was about nuisance snow i think we have about maybe an inch, inch and a half here in the mt. airy area but untreated roads hike these side roads are still snow cover mape roads are mainly wet. but as katie was talking about the concern is temperatures hovering right around the 30-degree mark right now and temperatures will be slowly dropping throughout the afternoon. so that is going to present that chance for refreezing and we'll have steady traffic again for the evening commute as it picks back up. we have a bit of breeze. so those wet spots on the main roads they will likely stay liquid or at least helped out boy the steady traffic by that breeze. but after the p.m. rush, the concern remains once again for black ice developing as those wet spots will freeze over as the winds relax and the traffic winds down and then again for our morning cmuomorrow we're going to see some of those
12:04 pm
icy spots. temperatures will be dropping down into the teens and 20s throughout the overnight peer but certainly our nuisance snow overnight last night and early this morning making for pretty scene here in mt. airy. but jim and rahel, we pick up close to 13-inches of snow in philadelphia so far this season. february is climatologically our snowy west month. probably still have more in store. we practice now at taking to the slick roadways so no excuses for people out there driving like a maniac though take it easy take it slow as we'll likely still be slick for the p.m. commute. guys. >> laren admonishing drivers it there. >> way to put it. >> thank you lauren. let's get a check on the highways. >> meisha johnson is here with a look at road conditions. >> we're looking outside right now as lauren just pointed out y, it is still going to be very slippery out there in fact just now on this camera shot in buck county looking at a schoolbus accident. there were no injuries reported thank goodness rut one near 95. that has now since been cleared out of the way but you can see

it looks fine. it looks just like you can go posted speeds but we still have speed restrictions in play because of that ice. also just want to pull this to your attention in delaware montchanin road closed between adam dam road and guy yen court road. use your alternates kennett pike or adams dam road. speaking of speed restrictions let's put those up there for you. these bridges down to 35 miles per hour. have you been all day even now into the afternoon. new jersey turnpike garden state parkway traveling around 45 miles per hour. i would even suggest just because it is still so cold and because we are still seeing accidents out there, these posted speeds and your regular posted speeds at 65 or 55 miles per hour i would take it just a little bit slower just in case you do have to put on your brakes. quick peek at 42 freeway on to creek road. when he problems. those have cleared. looking good on 295. everyone is traveling just as they shall.

any additional observations get added to the list. here's where it currently stands as the bulk of this starting to get out of here. take look first and for most outside plymouth meeting that will been tough to tell from this shot there had still be a few flurries flying i can really tell if there are still out that. the know if it's even left is so incredibly light. so you wouldn't really see much additional accumulation from anything that might still be flying out no matter where you are. clearly the snow covered tops of the malls and the grassy surfaces and such that's where primarily saw accumulation take place in this area. let's go back to the snowfall list i was talking about here. yeah, the highest total i found is blakesly right in the smack dab center of jack frost big boulder lucky them nip inches fell there. emmaus thee .2. vast difference still pretty significant am. 1.5 fell in hatfield. marshaltown delaware shy of an inch. half an inch in cinnaminson township. another short list of observations. 7-inches in palmerto palmer thes

on. the further south you went the lighter accumulations became. light dusting in langhorne where sesame place is located. adding some pretty atmosphere to the park there. taking a look at storm scan3. you still do have wet weather moving through. actually for the most part gone from georgia at this point we do still have at least here in new jersey lingering light know trying to work its way on out of here. but the bulk of this is basically down. with time the clouds will start to lift. you'll see even some sun before it's all said and done especially far north and west but the temperatures tell the story. the warmest spot we've got is atlantic city at 32 degrees. 29 in both philadelphia and trenton. held to the teens in mount pocono no that know is not going anywhere any time soon. we're not necessarily as state college or pittsburgh but feeling that chill a little bit more than we were earlier in the day. tepp degrees currently in state college.
12:21 pm
at least you made night double digits these are places like pittsburgh and state college stuck in the single digits for the better part of the morning. so pretty harsh out there. but for the rest of the day you do need to keep this in mind. that the temperature is near or below freezing and it may even continue to fall as the day goes on with this colt air nudging there's that potential as lauren had discussed in her weather watcher report that there could be some refreezing if there's standing water out there. it could turn back over to ice. you've got to reduce your speed. you've got to use common sense allow that extra following distance just be smart about this. always bears repeating. meanwhile looking at the win speeds a little breezy out the there. not harsh wind but enough that you notice it and with the temperatures below freezing that's going to make it feel colder certainly. we shouldn't see these wind speeds peak too much further than they currently are in fact it should actually ease up. let's talk about some good news. if you're not a fan of the cold and the snow. this forecast. now i feel like depends who you ask what this will do for your fantasy team and for, you know, just playing against minnesota
