if. looking outside, things actually looking pretty good. lot of construction it, have an accident, as well, we get to all of that coming up. >> quiet on my side. i'm telling you, this is nice stretch of weather. today is actually going to end up a pretty seasonable day. but it is clear, and it stays that way through the day, so very, very quiet day coming up the the winds are nice and light. temperatures starting to rise. it looks good. if you have outdoor plans, certainly in the clear here. storm scan is also very clear. the tri-state sweep not picking up on anything, so nothing to see out here. let's move along where the temperatures are definitely still chilly. you still need to be wearing your winter coats for sure. the daytime high eventually rebounds back to the mid 40's, for now, still stuck in the teens and even lower teens, as go into the lehigh valley, for example, but here in the sit, 25, probably drop few more degrees before the sun does come up. but, again, the winds has eased up, the worse of the chill anyway certainly done the same, now, we're warming

up here, through the mid 40's, so really looking pretty nice, meisha, and so the scene into the weekend. >> good, one time we want it, into the weekend. good morning, everybody, happy friday. so looking outside, construction out there on the schuylkill eastbound, closed right now between 30th and south street and one westbound lane is also closed. just a heads up on. that will see the crews out there with the flashing lights volume levels really light. they will be in the 4:00 hour maybe even the 5:00 hour because it is friday. ninety-five south at cottman, quick peak what you are working with as you head out, there you can see it looking real nice. blue route near mid-county the same story here. construction throughout in norristown, 202 near schuylkill avenue. alternate lanes are open there and some construction, new jersey, as well. some of which has cleared, so route 55 southbound past route 42, one lane still block there and we will be talking more about tomorrow's women's march this weekend coming up. guys, back to you. >> a police chase, stolen vehicle on i95 ends with two crashes in south philadelphia. the pursuit start in the

chester township last night. and ended at oregon and columbus boulevard. they say white 2005 hummer crashed with several police cars then became lodged in the center train tracks. the driver ran into nearby peer one store where police took him into custody. officers also took a female passenger into custody. state trooper was taken to the hospital but expected to be okay. eyewitness describes the chaotic scene. >> i seen cop cars flying down columbus boulevard, and the hummer, it was like a white hummer in the middle of the highway. the door was flung open. then i didn't know exactly where the man went. >> talked to the owner of the stolen hummer lives in new york state and reported her vehicle stolen earlier this month. pennsylvania governor tom wolf has ordered flags to be loafed who half star to honor marshall killed while serving arrest warrant in harrisburg. dozens of officers took part in the procession every deputy marshall christopher hill. forty-five year old slot and killed while serving a warrant

yesterday morning. other officers returned fire killing the gunman, he has been identified as 31 year old kevin sturgis of philadelphia. >> deputy hill served the american people and the citizens of this community with courage. he already missed. and words cannot say how much. i ask that you keep his wife and two children in your thoughts and prayers. >> two other officers were also injured, but are expected to be okay. in other news this morning , the senate resumes debate in washington on house approved bill to funds the federal government through mid february or face a shutdown at midnight tonight. cbs news correspondent weijia jiang with the latest from capitol hill. >> senators began late night wrangling over house approved bill to keep the government open through february 16th. but the debate quickly turned to finger pointing. >> the reason we're here right now is our friends on the other side say solve this illegal immigration problem right now or we're going shut

the government down. >> there have been very good attempts, bipartisan attempts, to solve this problem. it was the other side, your side, leaders, that didn't want to go along. >> the senate beyond until friday morning with no vote schedule announced. senators have only hours to reach an agreement before the midnight deadline after government shutdown. >> in the senate, it takes 60 vote. in the house, the republicans did their job. >> republicans control the house. republicans control the senate republicans control the presidency. republicans want the government to stay open, it will stay open. >> the bill would give both party more time to work through the differences they've been unable to resolve for months. white house officials say the problem is bigger than any legislation. >> what's missing in this conversation is the complete dysfunction of congress and it inability to actually complete appropriations process.

national guard for help. eyewitnesses describe the terrifying scene. >> you're in the express lanes , and start to see smoke and flames. and then it actually exploded. it looked like it was something from the movies. >> now, the driver managed to escape without injury. he told police he believed the tanker's brakes caught fire, which sparked the blaze michigan tow truck driver, close call caught on camera. unbelievable video. car camping up a ramp goes airborne and lands on top of the tow truck. see the tow truck driver scramble out of the way, the driver of the car blames black ice, but police say people have to drive safely in icy conditions. >> he apologized, no remorse, nothing. >> i apologized to him, like i said, this was something i didn't have control of. i was trying to get control. i didn't see him. i didn't -- all i saw was cars on the side from a previous accident. >> people drive down there, they think they can still go

as fast as they want, and as their car happens to spin out, a wreck it, could be their fault. >> no charges filed against that driver, but state police in michigan and elsewhere remind drivers to take it east any bad weather. >> a man in houston texas on the mends after exposed to ferment dollars molasses while working on a ship h to rescue the man in the hold. the it is used in product like baked beans, start today ferment which caused hazardous environment and knocked the man unconscious. >> extremely difficult with the molasses product, very sticky, crews had to be decontaminated after we removed them, the patient to be decontaminated. >> firefighters dropped an air monitor down the hole and rescued the man. did he eventually regain consciousness, and was taken to a nearby hospital. >> crazy. >> i knew sugar was bad for you, but not that bad. >> nutty.

4:43, and katie is here with another check of the forecast. >> katie talking about a warming trends? >> i love patterns like this, to gave you a chance to regroup and enjoy some warmth before the chill returns, which will happen later in the forecast, but for now, we do still have high pressure in place. that will linger for us, really for the next couple every days. so we have sunshine today through tomorrow and then few more clouds come sunday. because nice three day stretch at least of totally dry conditions. there is actually not much to track right now either across the greater united state region here, across really east of the rockies, things are very, very quiet. generally clear, too. we are going to be warming up, though. now, the winds is still pretty calm. but if you look at a couple of the different arrows, starting to turn more southerly. while the wind does remain light today, the key here is the winds direction. not necessarily how strong it is. and because it is coming from the south, it is helping to usher in milder air, and that's what's allowing the temperatures to rebounds not just today but specially into the weekends. looking good, especially tomorrow. sunshine for you throughout

the day. the daytime high ever so slightly above what's average, 44 degrees, for your daytime high, sun will come up shy of 7:20 this morning. we dip down to 31 degrees tonight. which is still cool granted but that's still about 6 degrees above what's average here, so not terribly harsh, but certainly not balmy just yet. now, let's gave you a sense of the game day forecast for the eagles for the tailgate, flirting with 50. this is good stuff. couple of clouds overhead granted but see little bit of sun breaking through, and by kick off, still very quiet, no weather-related issues, mid to low 40's around the time the kick off is taking place, but it really looks as though the warmest day is till yet to come. in advance of the next storm system, by tuesday, though, you're going to have trade off of rain moving in with the next storm, and that's what's causes that drop off on the thermometer, by wednesday, meisha. >> good to know, thanks, katie looking outside right now, we do have some construction, hopefully starting to clear out of the way, not quite yet. this is on the schuylkill, kind of getting used to the

area. schuylkill eastbound closed between 30th and south street, plus one westbound lane also is closed, heads up if you are headed out there right now. that closure still in place. construction here as well, 95 south near new hope at the pa welcome center. just heads up. right lane is compromised there. you can see all of the cones in the roadway, the marker as well. quick peak at the ben bridge, looking gorgeous as it always does for my jersey friends, traveling westbound direction toward center city, looking real nice and really quiet. we still have some construction crews out there on 202, as well, so norristown 202 near schuylkill avenue. alternate lanes are open there still showing all green, and i would hope we could keep all green until the 6:00 hour. then, route 55, some construction here in jersey as well, route 55 southbound past route 42, one lane is blocked there. and just heads up tomorrow, we have the 2018 women's march, so saturday on the ben franklin parkway, because of that, roads will be starting to close, and close around that area, 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on saturday.

at jock frost big boulder, shot for you here, actually that for ground here, that's the wall where the camera sits and there had been in the last few days a huge, you know, multi inch level pack of snow that's built up out there. these guys, they're like hey, you know what, it doesn't mean we saw 9 inches of snow earlier in the week, we still will build up the snow pack. i have a feeling those slopes will be just jam packed with skiers this weekend. because the weekends looks awesome. and they had so much snow over the span of the lasts few days , both man-made and natural, that the slopes will be really, really great place to be here this weekend. now, outside whitt fields elementary school, looks to be couple every mounds of snow out off on the side of the playgrounds, but for the most part, a lot of this is starting to melt away. what you had seen in earlier days. and now, that we're really seeing a warming trend get underway, yesterday was still cold. but today is really start to warm up. a lot of this snow should melt away completely. so many, it is a thawing that
