looking ahead to sunday, and it really is very quiet, even leading up to that point. so, while it is still chilly outside, storm scan3 is empty. the tri-state sweep on storm scan three actually just nothing to report right now. love when we can give you this quiet weather news. keep in mind once the sun comes up, you will have shy of 7:20 this morning, sun glare becomes the major issue. twenty-six though is your current temperature. so yes, it is still coldment look at allentown for goodness sake, only 9 degrees. it is cold. luckily the winds is pretty light. and it will stay that way throughout the day. now that we are going to start to see little more of southerly winds flow kick in, too, allowing the temperatures to rebounds than they were able to yesterday. at 19 willow grove, doylestown , respectfully. and 16 in mt. holliment quakertown too still stuck in the single digits. as the kids are headed out to the school bus then, you certainly need to make sure they're adequately bundled up. wearing maybe their eagles sweatshirt, to the school here today. but, in time for the ride home , all the way up to 44 degrees, again, still with sunshine, light wind

caught the bug as widespread flu activity is reported in every state except for hawaii. >> the centers for disease control and prevention is classifying the 2017-18 flu season as an epidemic. according to the cdc, roughly 6% of americans have flu symptoms. >> one of the areas hit specially hard is texas. >> you know, flu is serious, it is widespread every year, but we've never had it hit like it has our campus this year. >> at least one is school district were forced to close because of sick students? came down yesterday with fever and a headache and stomach ache. and so we went straight to car and tee. >> this flu season started early in louisianna and mississippi, in some areas like southern california, hospitalization were so overwelmed, triage tents were set up for flu patients. >> this is an interactive map by the centers for disease control and prevention, it shows just how fast flu has spread across the country. we pick it up in the beginning of deals, where you can see some local and sporadic

activity, and over the course after month, all of that brown shows now widespread activity. >> here in the tri-state area, health departments are reporting many more cases than this time last year. year to date, pennsylvania is reporting close to 18,000 confirmed cases of the flu. in new jersey, there are more than 3,000 cases. and delaware reports 555 cases the main strain this year is the vicious h3n2 strain which has been around in some form for decades. it is part of the current flu vaccine, but that's only expected to be about 30% effective this time around. still, health officials recommend, all americans will roll up their sleeves and get a shot. >> i'm real concerned about how many people are operating not to vaccination atement being vaccinate dollars is going to assure you to have at least a shorter duration every illness, and probably a milder flu. >> now the flu is dangerous. the cdc says the flu kills at least 12,000 people every year so the take away is that even though the flu shot isn't

some warmth. now, i still think that the ski resort will be absolutely packed here this weekend, all of your trails at both jack frost, blue mountain, in fact open at this point. they had plenty of snow from the recent storm, and they've been making plenty of their own snow, and the base feet deep now across all of these, sample of some of the resort up that way. look at this, you have sunshine to expect throughout the entire weekends, few more clouds do begin to build in further south sunday but with the kind of warmth for the mountains, low to mid 40's, again, it will feel so comfortable. i can't imagine some places aren't going to be just jam packed. now looking forward in the eyewitness weather seven day, big day sunday. no weather-related issues whatsoever. forty-nine is the temperature we hit during the kick off. or rather the tailgate. that's your daytime high. the kick off temperature, more so mid four's, then again stay nice and warm, tuesday is the warmest, but it is the day with the trade off with the next storm coming in that will your nerve rain to the area, then knock temperatures back, obviously, come wednesday. meisha? >> seems like there is always the trade off katie, rain,

beautiful 50's, and so on, so for the. but today so far so good. we just have had stumbled upon couple every things. disabling vehicle here, some construction out, there but overall things have actually look pretty good. this is your disable vehicle, this is in west conshohocken, front street, moving in the westbound direction, blocking that far left lane. tapping your brakes ever so slightly but really volume levels all morning long, guys have, been real nice. construction here, 59 south, near new hope, pa welcome center pulled off to the far right. you can see, it is still out there. little easier to see now, now that it is getting a little tiny bit lighter out there. then the vine, you can see, pushing in the westbound direction jumping on the schuylkill, this is what you are looking at there. kind of putting on your brake lights there. starting to build levels here. both on the westbound side and the eastbound side of the vine so headed out there right now, might want to start to factor in couple of extra minute as we push into the 6:00 hour. construction crews still out there in jersey, as well. route six a -- 55, past 42, one lane block here, then in the world of septa so heads up
