worried. and e-cigarettes may not be as safe as you think and may be toxic and a gateway for teen smoking. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. this morning authorities have yet to figure out why a student walked into a rural kentucky high school and started shooting. two students at marshall county high school were killed. witnesses say the young gunman started firing with a handgun and he did not stop until he ran out of ammunition nchl all, 16 were shot, four were trampled as students and faculty ran for their lives. police arrested the 15-year-old suspect within minutes without incident. john schiumo is here in new york. john, good morning. >> good morning, anne-marie. this is the first deadly school shooting in the united states this year. the suspect's identity is not

being released at this time, and the motive is unknown. police are asking that the 15-year-old involved in the shooting yesterday be charged as an adult. >> he's going to be charged with two counts of murder and multiple accounts of attempted murder. police are still trying to figure out why the suspect walked into marshall county high school just as classes were starting, pulled out a pistol, and began shooting, hitting more than a dozen other students. >> i took off my headphones and turned around and everyone was just broken up. they were running. i saw the flashes from the gunshots. and by that time i was just running. >> it took first responders less than ten minutes to reach the school. witnesses saw the suspect trying to

in washington, the headlines are about loyalty. it's reported that shortly after he fired fb i director james comey, he asked for the acting director andrew mccabe. it's also important that robert mueller's office wants to interview the president and we now know robert mueller spoke to attorney general jeff sessions last week. major garrett has more on that. >> in the oval office president trump said he's not worried about what attorney general jeff sessions said even though he had not spoken to him. this public face of calm came amid the disclosure that james comey was interviewed. he was fired in part because of the investigation. according to sources comey took notes he shared with president trump before the firing, recounting that mr. trump sought
