the good, good news is that after today, the coldest, time of the year on average, well, that is coming to an end and that actually ends today. starting tomorrow and here on out through rest of the month and february we will be seeing those averages, on the rise but we all necessity that winter isn't over just yet. so using something called the northeast snowfall impact scale it is basically a function of an area affect, amount of snow that falls and then population within the path of the storm that data actually shows us that the majority of our northe blockbuster snowstorm that create those extreme, crippling, even major impact actually occur as we head into the month of february, and as we all know, it takes just enough cold air and moisture to bring us our next blockbuster storm, this is why we cannot let our guard down just yet as we head into the month of february. so what is in store for us as we kick off the in of february

well, let's send it back inside to meteorologist kate bilo for more, kate. >> thanks, chelsea, yeah, february is traditionally the most snowy month on average for us here in philadelphia so that makes sense. interesting if you think back to what we talk about with lauren in minneapolis, february is their fifth most snow i month. for us it is number one. coastal storms like to form in february. i want to take to you super bowl weekend to start things off here because look at how cold it will be. these are actual temperatures and not wind chills. this is friday morning. it is 10 below zero in minneapolis, friday morning still 41 in philadelphia. but as we head into saturday temperatures start to drop even here in philadelphia we will be down in the teens, 12 degrees early saturday. sixteen on saturday in minneapolis but watch what happens on super bowl sunday. of course, game inside but as we head into the game time, time frame this cold air moving in the northern plains. look at these temperatures one below in minneapolis, early sunday morning but fargo it is

morning rain 8:00 a.m. we are seeing rain, and then rain may try to stall across south jersey and delaware through midday sunday and we may see sun in north and western suburbs. increasing cloud saturday we will see sun through mess of the day, pretty nice day and then rain at times sunday morning still mild at 56 degrees. then colder air comes in. we are watching a system next tuesday that could bring a chance of light snow or snow showers, this is far in the future but it is an indication that much colder air comes in and that precipitation type chance switches from rain to the chance for some light snow , you're witness weather seven day forecast, again 45 degrees tomorrow looking g saturday looks good as well. rain early on sunday, monday turns cooler and we have that chance, light snow on tuesday, 33. wednesday and thursday are mild. as we talked about a blast of cold air into super bowl weekend and some indication for us in philadelphia that could ab code by some snow as well, we will have a lot to
