is a mild stretch of weather headed our way. >> mild stretch. mild weekend. of course it won't last. some more went their we have to deal with for sure. but today you know what it is going to be feeling like spring time out there. let me start you off with a look at the city. this is the our live neighborhood network from across the river. palmyra cove nature park new jersey, skyline lit up in the background, dealing with dry conditions to start out your saturday, also mostly clear conditions as well. see good amount of sunshine as we kick off the morning too. it is 29 degrees, right now in philadelphia. right around 30 in wilmington. it is 36 degrees in millville. down the shore, temperatures are checking in in the upper 30's, places like atlantic city, at 38, and right around 39 degrees in wildwood. we are warmer compared to this time yesterday. in fact, well, 3 degrees warm nerve philadelphia, but where you will really notice the difference as you're waking up this morning, that will be in places like millville, where we're 21 degrees warmer, 17

degrees warmer in wild dollars would, and 17 degrees warmer right now in atlantic city. so, a chilly start but a very mild afternoon on tap. forecasting high temperatures in the 50's, some late day clouds arriving as well, but overall, it will really feel like spring out there. i'll have more coming up in your full forecast, for now, sending it back to you. >> chelsey, thank you. a developing story out of northeast philadelphia. now, a fire tears through a two story house in frankford, sending one person to the hospital. "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh, live at the scene with the very latest. anita, good morning. >> good morning, jan, we've just learned from police that investigators now believe the fire is suspicious. you can see hine me the damage and dollars the charred remains of the two story home. uber driver happened to be driving by at the time shot this cell phone video of flames bursting out of two story home. he also asked if anyone is inside on the 1300 block of frankford. firefighters rushed here after 1:30 last night, they were

able to get this blaze under control about 20 minutes later but again, here live on the scene, you can see that the damage is pretty severe. there are charred remains of this two story home, still here, and as investigators work to discover exactly what happened, at this point, they're saying they do believe this fire is suspicious. we also know that one person was taken to st. christopher hospital. but we do not have any word on that person's condition at this time. of course, we'll keep you updated on all of the latest development on air, on line, cbsphilly.com. for now in frankford, anita oh , cbs-3, "eyewitness news." >> breaking news out of north philadelphia now. "eyewitness news," live at a house fire, on the 1800 block of north 24th street. firefighters there rushed to the two story house right around 4:15 this morning, you can see, they are still on the scene. the fire is under control as you can see, there are no reports of any injuries. we'll keep you up-to-date on air and on line at cbsphilly.com.

>> three car collision in bucks county, call came in 1:30, route one northbound at pine street middletown township. there is no word on how serious these injuries are. the cause of this crash is under investigation. and an investigation is underway into the death of doctor james kauffman. the south jersey man charged with arranging his wife's murder waist found dead in his jail cell saturday morning. alexandria hoff tells us, kauffman's death appears to be a suicide. >> although this has been deemed apparent suicide, the atlantic county prosecutor's officer says their investigation into it will continue. thursday january 18th, james kauffman charged with orchestrating the 2012 murder of his wife, faced atlantic county judge. >> kauffman, alleged co-conspirator were ordered to remain detained until trial. it would be the last time that kauffman would appear publicly friday morning, the atlantic

county prosecutor's off the state that kauffman was found dead in his hudson county jail cell. sources tell "eyewitness news ," that the apparent suicide was carried out using a bed sheet. kauffman had been jailed since june under charges of racketeering. this police body camera footage take never june shows the stand-off between officers and kauffman, as they attempted to execute search warrant at his medical office. he is heard threatening to hurt himself. >> i'll kill myself. >> listen, let's talk. >> he was ultimately taken into custody. earlier this month was charged with organizing the murder of beloved radio personality, april kauffman. who was found shot to death inside a lynnewood home the couple shared. prosecutors' offers said the 2012 killing was attempt to buy kauffman to silence his wife knowledge of illegal drug operation he and a. , the murder for hire plot did not end there. at a separate hearing this month, kauffman's attorneys

stated that augello had planned to have kauffman killed, too. therefore his client was moved to a separate prison. >> is that because -- >> the plot to kill him. >> the plot to kill him. >> kauffman's attorney had said that his client maintained his innocence. sources tell "eyewitness news" that kauffman left behind a six-page note. reporting in atlantic county, alexandria huff. well the injury that side lined eagles quarterback carson wentz may be more complicated than we first new. but, did not keeping him down. lesley van arsdall talks with a man working on a come back. >> carson wentz speaking out for the first time since his season ending knee injury. it is worse than we thought, but he says it won't affect his recovery time. you know, he wants to get back on the field as soon as possible. after tearing both acl and mcl

head to the afternoon. let's take you now to live look at the city. it was cents so nice, driving in, up 95, this morning, seeing so many buildings, just illuminated, and that beautiful eagles green color, supporting the birds, we're just a little over a week away from the big game. it is 29 degrees, right now, in philadelphia. and with calm winds, actually feels like 29 degrees, so not bad start to the day. still little bit chilly out there. twenty-six right now in wilmington, down the shore, temperatures are a little bit milder as we start out your saturday, upper 30's atlantic city, 38 degrees, and that's right around 38 degrees also in wildwood. mid 20's in trenton. 24 degrees in allentown. and in reading it is right around 27 degrees, and lancaster right around 27 as well. the coldest time of the year on average, that is done, and today is going to be feeling like spring. but of course, we do have more winter that is looming in the forecast. and we will talk about that.

but for today, forecasting high temperature right around 56 degrees. you can bear that for average hi, as well, above average for this time of year. the average time for today sitting right around 41 greets , and at this point in time, see those average numbers, on the rise, through the rest of this month, and also into february. so, that's some exciting news with the coldest time of the year on average completely done and over with. storm scan3, shows very quiet, in fact, dealing with mostly clear skies. across the delaware valley. we do have some clouds located just out to the west, those are going to be edging toward the east today. so we will see an increase in clouds later on during the day tomorrow. -- today. good amount of sunshine. keeping ion cold front located out to the west, kind of draped through wisconsin, on down into missouri there is will be slowly approaching our neighborhood, and bringing us that chance for some rain. and that's going to start tonight. so let me show you how things pan out here on future weather notice the sunshine to start out your day. we will start to see couple of clouds filtering on in, later

>> chelsey, thank you. developing now, investigators are trying to pinpoint what sparked a fire in a northeast philadelphia home. one person was returned to the hospital. "eyewitness news" report. >> reporter: err anita oh, live at the scene with the latest. good morning, anita. >> good morning, jan, we just learned from police that investigators do believe this fire is suspicious, as you can see hine me, there is still a lot of rubble here, in this two story home, a lot of charred remains, again, police do believe that this is a suspicious fire, uber driver who just happened to be driving in the area took this cell phone video of flames bursting out of the home. he asked if anyone was inside. this is on the 1300 block of rhawn street. firefighters returned here just after 11:30 last night, were able to get the flames under control about 20 minute later. we do know paramedics took one person to st. christopher hospital. i spoke to the homeowners who live here and who have been sifting through the rubble. they did not want to be on camera. they tell me that the person taken to the hospital is their 17 year old son, they

also add that he's okay. again, at this hour, we have learned that police believe that this fire is suspicious, but that is all that we know about the possible cause at this time. of course as soon as we learn more information, we will bring that to you just as soon as we know it. for now live in frankford, anita o cbs-3, "eyewitness news." >> anita keep us to up date. breaking news out of north philadelphia now. firefighters rush to burning row home on the 1800 block of north 24th street. the call came in around 4:15 this morning. firefighters had the flames there under control in just about 45 minute. fortunately, there are no report of any injuries here. the cause of this fire is under investigation. investigators are on the case of the apparent suicide of the south jersey doctor accused of arranging his wife 's murder. doctor james kauffman was found inside of his cell at the hudson county correctional center friday morning. sources say, kauffman used a strip of bed sheets to hang himself there. left six-page suicide note.

now, earlier this month, kauffman was charged with killing, hiring a hitman, to kill his wife, april kauffman, radio talk show host, intruder shot her to death in the couple lynnewood home back in 2012. >> close call for police officer in atlantic county caught on camera. now police releasing the video so you'll think twice when you see any law enforcement officers on the side of the road. take a look. january 19th video shows officer err in hamilton township narrowly escaping disaster when now car side-swiped his police cruiser police want to remind drivers about the move-over law. it calls on drivers to change lanes if possible, or proceed slowly and with cautious past an emergency vehicle, and to always be ready to stop. now learning more about what caused a carbon monoxide leak that sickened student and staff at a philadelphia elementary school. this all happened yesterday, at william letter school in somerton. officials say the fumes came from a generator on the roof there. now the fumes follows dollars
