new england patriots. lesley van arsdale joining us with you? they're prepping they just want to get there. the eagles held their final practice. tomorrow they'll board the plain to minnesota. they spent almost 90 minutes on the field getting ready for next week's super bowl. they're just eight days away from playing. >> get an opportunity to do something that you've always dreamed of doing and really just show your talents, represent your hometown, this organization, this city and i mean, you know all eyes are on you. >> it's exciting. it's definitely, you know, when you first think about it, it's a little surreal because you've worked so long and you've talked about this so much over the last year that now we're finally here, um, but then that light switch is on like well, yeah, we earned the right to be here and so it's not really a surprise and

about in the community today. linebacker mychal kendricks and cornerback ronald darby and patrick robinson were in bucks county. "eyewitness news" at the oxford valley mall. the fan favorites signed eagles gear. they appreciate the sendoffs they're getting from eagles nation. >> to meet the fans especially during game day of course but they took time out today to come out here to see us so it's like it's a great feeling. >> and fans chanted the eagles fight song many, many times during their meet and greet. trey burton and linebacker donell ellerbe spent the afternoon signing autographs in havertown. the line wrapped around the store as fans flocked to see some of their favorite football heroes up close and personal. in minneapolis they are trying to keep folks safe. there are tons of law enforcement officers already in place to help make that happen. humvees are parked at every

intersection of the nicolette outdoor mall. that's where the super bowl live fan experience activities are currently taking placement now authorities are using those humvees to block traffic so pedestrians can safely walk around. and they're also using concrete barriers as well. and calling all eagles super fans out there, the philadelphia orchestra needs one lucky fan to conduct the musicians while they play the eagles victory song. all you have to do is submit is quick video of yourself explaining why you think you should win. make sure you include that famous eagles chant and then head to the orchestra's facebook twitter or instagram page for instructions on how to post your video. the winner will conduct the victory song the day before the super bowl during the orchestra's 8:00 p.m. performance. we want to see just how you are supporting the birds so please get decked out in your best eagles gear and then snap a photo. just use #cbs3 on facebook twit or instagram and you may see your fan moments right

here on the air on cbs3. we'll bring you all the excitement from the super bowl with live coverage starting tomorrow night. sports director don bell will be live in minneapolis on "eyewitness news" after the grammy awards. and we'll be with the birds every step of the way as they go for one more win. when we're not on tv you can find us at cbsphilly.com. everything eagles all the time. in other news now philadelphia police are investigating an overnight fire in northeast philadelphia that sent a teenager to the hospital. investigators now say the fire does appear to be suspicious. firefighters responded to the reports of flames shooting out of the home on the 1300 block of rhawn street in frankford about 11:30 friday night. family members tell "eyewitness news" that the 17-year-old injured in that blaze is recovering now at saint christopher's hospital. an uber driver in the area says he called 911. then shot cell phone video of the flames. >> it looked like it started from the porch maybe.

that's where the fire was coming and then all of a sudden just the whole house started on fire and so i'm just praying to god that whoever was in the house got out. >> firefighters did finally get the blaze under control just before midnight. the cause is still under investigation at this hour. and president trump meantime is condemning a car bombing attack in kabul afghanistan that killed 95 people today. authorities say a suicide bomber drove an ambulance filled with explosives past a police checkpoint and into a secure zone. the target is believed to have been an interior ministry building but many people were hit while walking. at least 158 people were wounded in this explosion. and president trump is back at the white house this weekend. he has returned home from his overseas trip to protests. this comes as new details emerge in the russia investigation. cbs news correspondent hannah doba has more. >> this is what democracy looks like. >> reporter: hundreds of protesters hit the streets of washington saturday. many demanding the the

impeachment of president trump. the march took place a day after the president returned to the white house from his trip to the world economic forum in davos switzerland. >> i think it was a very very successful trip. >> reporter: mr. trump did not address the new york times report that said he ordered the firing of special counsel robert mueller last summer. cbs news has learned the president expressed anger at mueller's investigation and raised concerns about potential conflicts of interests. advisers including white house lawyer don mcgahn said firing him would be politically catastrophic. the president changed his mind. >> fake news, folk, fake news. >> what's your message. >> typical new york times fake stories. >> reporter: in davos mr. trump denied he wanted to fire mueller but he's since been silent on the issue neither tweeting or speaking about it. >> he's not giving reporters updates. he's keeping his cards close to the vest.

the big question when will the president at a you can to robert mueller or will he back out. >> reporter: earlier this week he said he looked forward to being interviewed by mueller and hoped it would happen soon. >> steve wynn has resigned as finance chairman of the republican national committee amid allegations of sexual misconduct. wynn has been a prolific republican donor and yesterday the "wall street journal" reported a number of women said they were harassed or assaulted by wynn. he's share man and ceo of wynn resorts. wynn says he took the rnc job at the request of president trump. >> he ought to encourage the republican national committee to return every penny that wynn has given. >> wynn has denied the allegations and calls them preposterous. >> michigan's attorney general launching a full scale investigation into the u.s. gymnastics sexual abuse scandal. this week dr. larry nassar was

sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison. he sexually abused young girls and women under the appearance of medical treatment. he was a gymnastics doctor for the u.s. olympics team and a michigan state university employee. >> my department in this investigation will find out who knew what and when, who took action, who failed to take action, what did or did not happen and what should have happened. >> michigan state's

especially right in around the city for the first last of day more persistent for south jers jersey, the shore and parts of the delaware. storm scan3 showing us the rape is moving in portions of berks county, lehigh county and poconos, and we do have this area of precipitation upland in association with that cold front. very well developed that will continue to move its way eastbound throughout the overnight period and a good portion of tomorrow as well so in the city and suburbs starting about 2am and then persisting i think into the late morning hours still could see showers around into the early afternoon. the shore this is going to be the longest event for the regi region. steady rain 4am and then possibly into the afternoon and evening hours as well. lehigh valley start off with moderate rain as we're seeing developing right now and kind of lighter rain as we head into the early morning hours eight, 9:00 o'clock that will eventually taper off for you but we do have this one watch in effect for monroe and northampton counties runs through tomorrow afternoon and that is because of those ice jams and then we'll add rain on top of that so flood watch in

effect to be advised. further weather showing us the rain model looking right on time. midnight that moving loot hi lehigh valley berks county spreading east into philadelphia and surrounding suburbs by 2:00 a.m. and spreading into south jersey and the shore the early morning hours as you're waking up most of us will have the rain coming down across parts of the region, ending far northwest of the city. moisture persisting along the coast. it will be re-energized by a area of low pressure moving up a wall in the coast could keep the showers around into tomorrow night even into monday morning and then possibly again we can see some showers redeveloping monday night as far as rainfall accumulations in around the city looking very consistent. we like that. so we'll pick up about half an inch of rainfall through the day tomorrow and then as we head into tuesday periods of light snow models different on type cog start as early as monday night as late as monday afternoon but this does look like a late event with 2-inches looking maximum but, of course, stay tuned to that evolving forecast as we head into

welcome back everyone. final toll night this has become the month of the underdog almost the year of the dog according to chinese zodiac. celebration of the chinese new year took place today at the penn museum in university city. the family friendly event featured martial arts demonstrations, fruit and vegetable carvings arts and crafts an lot more. we asked one woman what the zodiac has to say about dogs that can be applied to the underdogs.
