>> light know falling across the region more after news and than anything but only our first tai of snow this week. storm scan3, tracking the snow that moved to the east and just enough to remind us that it is still winter. this week shaping up to be wintery run not one but three round of snow. >> so how much snow can we expect? >> location based forecast, in
12:01 pm
the city very difficult getting the snow to stick even on unpaved surfaces at least in hands full of spots, the case here in center city. looking outside logan square, do you have minor facilities, but pretty high up on the skyscrapers with the clouds starting to drop, in obviously the flakes are still, but if you notice there at the bottom of the screen again snow having tough time sticking. it has not had a difficult time, though, sticking elsewhere, we show you just short list of some of the current snowfall totals, again snow so far few more hours left but in bay ville, ocean county, 6 inches so far. that observation came in just in the last few hours, 2.6 inches, so may be little more than that, though this is light snow, not spec to go see too much more tack on top of the totals at the airport, nothing but a trace. thus far, looking at storm scan, tri-state sweep, it is localized seeing the snow come down big flat flakes come
12:02 pm
along with it, but yes, in some of the spots having tough time sticking to the grounds moving at a slow clip. other factor that you don't want to lose site of is the fact also winnie here. see how strong these winds are , especially western half of our region, so that's still a concern. through the rest of the day, but chilly out there, temperatures steady in the 30 's for the rest of the afternoon, a lot of wet roads, the story for many of you, but meteorologist, lauren took our cbs-3 nobody out for a spin with a look at the conditions there, hey, lauren? >> hey, katie yes, right now the roadways are very wet, really not seeing much as far as snowfall accumulation, you can't really see anything just a lot of wet roads, so give you live look, we are in south philly on broad street. so, you can see, just even some ponding on the roadways
12:03 pm
over the last several hours, now, temperatures will be hovering in the middle 30's, as we head throughout the afternoon, so that shouldn't keep things wet, but i think the big concern is going to be when this system starts to clear on out later today, we see the end of the moisture, we should clear out pretty quickly. and that could allow potentially roadways to freeze , turning over to ice, temperatures will drop pretty quickly, clear sky cover, see quick clearing temperatures cool very rapidly, and that could be the case as we head into the evening hours, so we will have the windy conditions , and that will cause for some reduced visibility, but it might keep things liquid, that would be good news for us but again i think the big concern is going to be as we head into the evening hours right now in the lull of precipitation for heavy flurries, but dealing with two batches of moisture and two batches of energy, so we'll going to see several more hours of the flurry action, light precipitation before we clear things out as we head into the evening hours
12:04 pm
, so rahel, right now, just dealing with slick roadways, wet roadways, but i think the big concern is going going to come later this evening temperatures drop off to the 20's, everyone be safe, take it slow. >> good advice, lauren, thank you. track all of the chances for snow on your smart 1-844-977-cbs3 download the free cbs weather app available on itunes and google play. >> philadelphia police are investigating a double murder in oxford circle. two women found shot to death inside their home, "eyewitness news" reporter alicia live at the scene on greevy street with details. >> we're told that both of those women were shot in the head and both of those women lived inside the home here along grieve i street. one victim was 44 years old, and the other victim 60, sit ting in her wheelchair when murdered. >> northeast philadelphia home found 66 year old female, suffering from at lows one

hood of the weather watcher. late in the day. you know how you get to that point in the day, what's that word again? yes, so clearly, some beads of moisture out there but again more than anything just a damp and wet ride out there for the lunch rush. let's switch it over here, take a look at one of the live neighborhood network shot, where it is almost like a different day when you look at the shot, seems like something completely different is happening, same system, and it is just having the opportunity to bring down some snow, a little bit more heavily here, across places like reading or next-door to it in west lawn, pa. but i also show this camera. look at the shaking going on, wind has gun to pick up out there. and outside whitfield elementary school granted may be not be sticking to the playgrounds grounds, but a lot of shaking going on meaning the temperature of 25 will probably feel that much chillier any time you feel that win blow. going all the way out to the shore points. yes, coastal flood advisory up and down the delaware wear
12:21 pm
beaches, jersey shore line, now allowed to expire. but the high tide has since receded, too, minor flooding issues ooh, still very damp in this area. 32 degrees the temperature at the boardwalk plaza in rehoboth. even though it looks like it is mainly just damp roads from rain, it is technically falling as snow, just melting on contact, in a lot of spots, leading to again the ponding, damp roads out there. so still going to have to contend with this for the next couple of hours, already back edge setting up back to the north and west most suburbs, and zoom it out, notice, that there is two separate pieces of energy, one making it full departure there is second guy move in late this morning, and it continues to cross the region now. in it wake, it does clear out very nicely later tonight, so we time it all out for you in the next few hours. again, you know, not everyone getting hit by this at any given point. it is very minor disturbance. so, still not expecting much more than coating to upward of 2 inches or soy at absolute worse, anti rate i'll be shocked to see much stick to
12:22 pm
even the struck are you or even the unpaved surfaces here until the city since much of it has difficult time sticking up until this point. come 5:00 p.m., there will likely still be some problems with visibility up and down the garden state parkway then it all clears out of here. as lawyer hen mentioned earlier in the show, refreezing then could be an issue, into the overnight, early morning hours of tomorrow. once this mess is out of here, we see high pressure pay at least a brief visit t means full sunshine come tomorrow. but already a new front waiting in the wings by thursday. so, mother of the day looks fine. thursday late night into the early morning hours friday that this is going cross through, so, heads up if you're tailgating for wing bowl, too shall cox flakes flying at that point, also groundhog day, so we'll see. hedging our bets whether phil will see his shadow or not. now, looking at the temperature scheme, mid 30's, pretty much where we will settle in for the next couple of hours, and later on tonight the temperature will drop off easily, but we've been very steady with these values,
12:23 pm
through the course of the day, and it will stay that way for the rest of the afternoon, but later tonight once this disturbance out of here, temperatures drop with no problem down to 20 degrees, so absolutely cold enough for it to refreeze, if there is a little puddle that's left over from what's fall now, that could be an issue. looking forward, though, we do have these additional chances for snow that we talked about. so again, early friday morning , maybe minor nuisance accumulations at worse, then again on super bowl sunday maybe little light snow once more pushing through. the key here none of these systems looks like a major one for our area. we are coming right
