across the nation stot spotlight is on our team our philadelphia eagles right now. fans across the delaware valley are filled with hope that the city finally gets a super bowl win. "eyewitness news" reporter chante lance is live at philadelphia's oldest watering hole anticipation at all-time high row. chante. >> it is a full house here at mc guillens. crowds are pumped. the game is starting. they are hoping that the spear witness continues and that their home city will pull off that win. whoo! >> reporter: the excitement electric. >> eagles except. >> reporter: the lines long. >> we don't have backup plan much this is our only plan. >> reporter: more than 100 eagles fans lined the streets in downtown philadelphia pumped and hopeful to secure a hundred dollars spot with all you can eat food and drinks inside mc guillen's old ale house to watch the super bowl. >> we are just so in awe. >> reporter: chris mullens, jr. a third generation owner of

the irish pub. mc guillens is the longest running tavern in philadelphia opening a hundred 5058 years ago in 1860 the same year abraham lincoln was elected president. >> we realized we'd be overwhelmed with crowds. we have the best fans, the best customers in philadelphia. >> christ wrist band sales start the add 11am but fans started showing up at 7:00. ryan foley and two sons were first in line. >> it's fantastic. >> once in a lifetime chance. >> we want to do make sure that we watched the game in our favorite bar. >> eagles fans line around the block those inside mc gill lince are preparing their super bowl pole specialty drinks. >> eagles green creme de menthe, vanilla vodka shaken and served in martini glass. >> eagles fans are hopeful for a which which also means defeating nfl-s-m-v-p trait yachts quarterback tom brady. >> our defense is too strong.

meantime welcomed birds fans to pray before we play during a special super bowl mass. church goers deck out in eagles green attended mass at resurrection of our lord parish in rhawnhurst this morning. they also lit green candles, sung hymns about eagles and had their throats blessed. so they could cheer louder during the game. meantime in west philly, tran formed church held a pre-game rally for the hometown team. the auditorium at west philadelphia high school where the church services are held was bathed in eagles green this morning. during the celebration a congregation sang the eagles fight song, watched pop-up videos all those hype videos out there. trying to get everybody ready for the big matchup. >> puts philadelphia on a national spotlight in good way and seeing our people represent our city is a exciting. it's a good feeling. > the pastor even joked that quarterback nick foles has a job waiting for him after the church -- after he's done with

football. foles said this week that once his football career is over, he would like to become a pastor. and slide eagles supplied philadelphia police were greesing poles around the city trying to keep fans from climbing them after tonight's game. take look at the scene cell eighty three on the 400 block of south broad street. police are not saying exactly what substance that they're using this time. they don't want people to research counter measures. crisco didn't seem to work after the nfc champion shim game. a few fans who gathered around spontaneously broke out into the eagles fight song. >> in anticipation of super bowl celebrations tonight, parking restrictions are currently in place in philadelphia. there will be no parking on broad street from arch to pine, and around city hall. also from dickinson to oregon avenue. no parking either. restrictions went into effect at 2:00 p.m. and will remain through 3am on monday morning. this does include both sides of the street as well as the medi median. now the second the game ends

banding actually not pouring there but that is snow that is melting that's being picked up by the radar. because we are still seeing a little bit of a wintry mix being reported doylestown reporting freezing rain coming down. snow continues to fall in the poconos. a big mess of a system that we're going to deal with for the next couple of hours. so steady rain for much of us into the 9:00 o'clock hour. but looks like it will quickly taper off by about 11:00 p.m. so probably right around when the game is wrapping up near 32-degree temperatures as we head late into the overnight period we'll have to watch out for slick roads roadways due to refreezing we have a winter weather advisory that remains in effect for the next couple of hours for chester, bucks, montgomery, county, lehigh valley and berks. we'll talk more about this wet weather when it ships on out of here an cold start to the work week. all that's coming up in your full eyewitness forecast in just a few. >> lauren, thanks so much. see you soon. heavy smoke could be seen in a north philadelphia neighborhood this morning as crews responded to basement fire. this was the scene about 7:00 a.m. on the 4900 block of ninth street.

the philadelphia fire department says crews fought that blaze from the outside of the home. it was under control by 7:20. no injuries were reported. in southwest philadelphia, police responded overnight to the scene of a car driven into a home. it happened about 2:40am on the corner of 68th and greenway. police say the mail driver was hospitalized with minor injuri injuries. they say alcohol may have been a factor. no other injuries were reported. early morning train crash in south carolina leaves two people dead, more than a hundred others are injured. this amtrak train was traveling from new york to miami when it hit a csx freight train. south carolina's governor said it appeared the amtrak train was on the wrong track at the time. the dead have been identified as the train's conductor and engineer and the ntsb is currently investigating. also, a number of democratic and republican lawmakers say president trump is wrong to believe the gop memo on fbi

we're deck out in our green as is the city. but, hey, you can't really see it right now because of the low clouds. the rain continues to pour down and it is a cold rain at that. 37 degrees right now. feeling like 32 degrees with a bit of a northeasterly breeze and rainfall totals have been significant through the day today. philadelphia girard college over an inch of rainfall. kennett square .80 of an inch. wilmington, .60 of an inch. packed in the precip right now. storm scan3 showing us the rain coming down where you see the orange and red returns oh, my goodness, sap thunderstorm. it's actually not. it is high reflectivity in association with heavy rain but it's actually snow thats melting as it's dropping so the radar is picking up those higher reflex availabilities in these areas towards chester county we could see be a wintry mix right now or possibly just rain as it hits the surface but we see primarily snow through the day in the poconos. some accumulations up to two to 3-inches in parts of the-elevations. we've also seen some

accumulations of ice across lehigh valley the lehigh valley and berks county so watch out for slippery roadways. you're still seeing those pink returns mixing in there so still some times freezing rain mixing in with that rain and if a few flakes as well a big mess of a system we've seen mainly all rain except for few onset makes in around philadelphia. south jersey the rain continues to fall. we'll see that kind of heavy in nature as we head into the next couple of hours. but, yes, south jersey rain coming down. steadily and moderately all across the area. but this moisture is going to move all out. the last of it down towards the d.c. area as it continues to lift off to the north and east we're going to wrap this event up pretty quickly as we head into the second half of the evening so still rain pouring down over the next couple of hours. starting to taper by nine, 10:0e clears out much of the area by 11:00 p.m. and then after midnight, no wet weather to worry about at least falling wet weather we will have to worry about some slick spots on the roadways but a cold front is traversing the area. can you tell where it hasn't

moved through yet? temperature at 50 degrees in ac. 46 in wildwood but on the back side of the front we're at 34 in allentown but much colder for our friends in minneapolis right now. it is three above but hey they are inside that dome enjoying that game. wind chill temperature right now 14 below in minneapolis. and we're going to get a little chilly as we head into the day tomorrow. an active as well another rain chance cold and blustery as we turn towards tomorrow clouds dominate on tuesday. a quiet day before getting active once again as we head into wednesday with another round of potentially all day rain in the forecast. we will have to watch out for mixing at the onset of that event as well. but overnight tonight, rain coming to an end. mostly cloudy chilly breeze and for the day tomorrow, we're going to see cold blustery conditions, mostly sunny, 42 degrees on tuesday. then that chance of steady rain as we head into wednesday. 36 on thursday. so still quite chilly as we head throughout the week before temperatures climb as we head towards the start of next
