>> live from the bs broadcast center in philadelphia. this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news " this morning. and the game is on. >> the game is over. the philadelphia eagles are super bowl champions, eagles fans everywhere this is for you. >> it happened super bowl champions, the philadelphia eagles are bringing home the vince lombardi trophy. >> take a look i fans quickly flooded the streets but in some places the celebrations took a turn for the worse. traffic polls taken down, cars flipped over. >> well today is monday, february 5th, good morning, welcome to a special edition of cbs-3 "eyewitness news" this morning, celebrating our super bowl champions, philadelphia eagles else, aim

jim donovan. >> doesn't it feel good to say that snow are you feeling, jim aim rahel solomon. a quick check of traffic and weather. >> all in a fantastic mood this morning. >> oh, my gosh. >> did anybody go to sleep. >> barely, barely. when have we ever been so excited to wake up on a monday morning? everyone one jumped up and started partying right away. so excited, so proud. i don't want to talk about traffic but i have to. it will be busy, coming in this morning, earlier driving at 3:00 a.m., people all over the streets, still a lot of squad cars are lights, roads blocked offer, all that coming up. >> i definitely ran into closures, find detours here. but at least the weather is cooperating. it is cold. we had the rain for the majority of yesterday. expect that there may and few slick spots, especially true north and west. you are going to clear out with time, however, that will break apart nicely. look at the temperature profile, very close to freezing in a lot of these spots. my advice is this, if you come

up on anything in the outlying suburbs, especially, that look like it could be little slick or just wet, assume that it is , in fact, slick or icy, okay? so you're at 34 at the airport , they will awfully marginal with freezing, now again, you just want to take it easy out there. palmyra, 36 degrees, 35 mt. holly, just little too close for comfort to those freezing levels. but with time, the temperature does haven'tly rebounds, to up 36 in the sit hovering somewhat to where we are now. thirty-seven at the shore. as clouds break for more and more sunshine. and clouds will continue to break everywhere. but the winds is also picking up. that means it does feel cold. meantime, we got a parade forecast that we will finally be able to talk about here for the first time ever for the eagles. >> so exciting, meisha. >> so excited. to wake up in the sit, so, so incredibly proud. like katie pointed out though, traffic going to be a little bit after issue because of the wed roadways, mr. play a factor, heads up traveling

around the center city area, downed polls, people climb climbing on the polls, lights out, that sort of thing. take it easy, i also say, even with the traffic you won't have any bumper to number conditions, with the road closures, people out on the roadways still at this hour, i would say if you are leaving around center city give yourselves extra time. quick peak at the schuylkill at the vine. see in terms of how many vehicles are on the roadways, just not so many. we will zero we start to pick up here this morning, like i said, gave yourself extra time , ben franklin bridge looking slick, little wet. reduced speeds to 25 miles per hour over that bridge. so just heads up. you do have some speed restrictions in play this morning. some accidents out there, as well, new jersey turnpike southbound the inner lanes before route 206, right lane compromised here, also downed pole, wires, and accident here in swenksville, skippack pike closed between luke on road, you will to take smaller roads around that to avoid t more accidents when we come back in a little bit. guys, back over to you.

>> ♪ >> ♪ >> congratulations and enjoy your first lombardi trophy in philadelphia. >> that's nfl commissioner roger goodel presented the super bowl trophy, absolutely unbelievable, the eagles are super bowl champions, and eagles fans, far and wide, well, they will be waking up on cloud nine. >> all week i think the birds, defending super bowl champions beat the path 41 to 33, a drought that goes back 40 years, has been long time coming eagles fans, hear from coach doug pederson and quarterback nick foles coming up. overall great day for eagles fans. real a good game. and e-a-g-l-e-s fever, down to a force, thousands of fans flood the streets of center city once the game ended and the crowd was electric. >> unfortunately not all of the celebrations were peaceful , hands full of fanned did get out of hands, chantee lans live in center city where

a good deal of damage was left behind. chantee? >> reporter: jim washings hell , good morning, i want to start by saying the street is wide open right now. but earlier, you could barely even move. after the winnie probably should have been sleeping but i just wanted to see it, i think a lot of the people here are so humble, they just wanted that win. and i was amongst the crowd. and the crowd here for the most part were very humble, they were gracious. they wanted to experience the same thing i described that i experienced blue were a few bad a.m. that's left quite bill bit of damage. we are on the east side of city hall. there are several traffic light polls down, i'll have scott show this one if you can , he's going to walk with me. completely ripped out of the grounds here. you need this for traffic. you need this during the day. so that morning commute, those who were actually going to have to commute, to work, will have little hard time. something else i want to show you that happened, this window

, this storefront of macy's, very popular store down here, was smashed, now we're told by the person who shared it on social media that it was not looted and police arrived short time later. now, there was, how much, from what we have learned, looting at the sunoco in south philly. now this happened on broad and catharine street. around that time, last night, there were thousands in the streets. all the way from north, further north on broad, all the way back down to south. and mayfair area, and we just continued to stay on top of that and bring you that, police are out here, they just opened back up the streets out here. these streets were block off with dump trucks, much earlier , but again it is back open. people are kind of just figuring out where they are going without these street light that had been used. again, nearly about six street lights taken down by fans.

they've been climbing them, i've seen them climb all night after the win. but i'm assuming more city reps will come here and handle that, remove that, they haven't come to do that just yet. but we will be out here, we will be monitoring the situation, and we will bring you the latest details when that becomes available. that's the very latest live in center sit, chantee lans, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," jim, rahel, back to you. >> ♪ we are the champions ♪ ♪ we are the champions ♪ >> of the world! partying over at broad and porter streets in south philly , tons of thousands of joyful fans show their passion after the historic victory, there was a lot of excitement with music, dancing, singing and obviously a lot of screaming: i -- city-wide celebrations have been thousands -- decades in the making.

modell's at 16th and chestnut there is models as well as all of the models in our area are opening up at 5:00 so people can get up immediately get their hands on super bowl championship gear. taking a look at the window here, actually an employee who is wait to go get inside, waiting for his manager to show up so can he get everything arranged but already pretty cool merchandise in the window that looks pretty great. but take look at the video, we just talked about frankford and cottman, here it is again, so good. we had to show it to you again here. all of the people celebrating, police expecting upward of 30,000 people to show up at the iconic intersection in the nare fair. very family orient dollars atmosphere, police did not report many issues up in the northeast at this particular location, despite all of the people being there. now, some people just couldn't wait until this morning, to get their hands on the championship gear. they went to the dick's sporting goods, let's take a look at that to snatch up all

kind of items so they could joe up today perhaps call out of work or go to work with their gear on so they're really snapping those up yesterday. we do want to kind of introduce you to some people last night who were just so emotional, from the oldest man who had been waiting all of their lives for an eagles super bowl, and some fans who feel like they've been waiting all their lives but they hadn't been waiting all that long. take a listen. >> it was amazing. couldn't would you believe it was happening? >> no. >> neither could we. >> it is amazing. we finally win a super bowl. >> well he hasn't waited that long, i've been waiting 33 years for this to happen. so that's a very lucky kid, again, we're here outside of the models on chestnut street. and in center city, opening up at 5:00 a.m. all of us eagles fans can get our hands on some super bowl championship gear. but for now, liver in center

city, trang do, cbs-3, " eyewitness news," jim rahel back to you. >> when the store opens don't forget about your favorite colleagues back here. >> oh, there go. >> what do you like? >> we'll give you our sizes, thanks, trang. well, that all came after the game, all of the excitement but let's see how the eagles won the game. >> it took a lot of football to get there. one of the greatest super bowl games ever. >> nick foles, first touchdown pass of the day, after the patriots missed an field goal, birds struck again there is time legarrett blount from one years yards out, 15-three eagles. patriots, on 25-yard run by white, and the game was underway. birds made it 22 to 12 at the half. the play of the game, tight- end, burton, nick foles with a touchdown, that of course is usually the other way around, so at this point heads are exploding, no one

can believe it. the patriots came back in the second half. even time one point lead. the birds would not give up. zach earth diving touchdown, put the eagles back in the lead, eagles defense, the birds beat the patriots 41 to 33 to win the teams ever first super bowl. >> and let's hear from coach doug pederson, sports director don bell and very own pat gallen were at the game when they were in the lockerroom right after. >> for the first time in franchise history the eagles are super bowl champs. don bell, alongside pat gallen , how does that sound for you? >> sound good to me. and a lot of philadelphians, philadelphia eagles fans across the country no doubt. >> amazing night, it was cents a nail biter down to the have i end. >> the eagles are super bowl champions, they win by score of 41 to 33, let's go to the lockerroom. >> i can't tell you how happy i am. i really am. you're world champions, man. >> world champions. >> take a look around.

everyone kneels down in prayer i was this, there amazing. the team that talked about family all year long, they've been a family, they've stayed together through the tough times. whether it be the mere add injuries that they've, the jason pete ertz, obviously to carson wentz, some of the great players on this team, they've overcome all of that. and now they're super bowl champions, just amazing. >> really have believed every step of the way, and we had a chance to watch them every step of the way. i was on the feel afterward. we caught up with a bunch. guys at the confetti falling from the sky. >> nobody counted us in all year. the media, the entire nation, no one thought it would happen i'm so happy for every single one of these guys, so happy for this organization, it has been a long time coming. i'm so happy for the city of philadelphia and our fans. because you guys deserved this for a long time, and the fact that i have i have been table provide that, it is awesome, man. get the parade down broad street ready, baby.

>> the art museum was popping, broad street don't even get started, katie, delco, the celebrations was on the streets in delco. >> oh, gosh the entire valley was cents celebrating. and out in the street, too, so we've got bedroom is on the thirds floor, i finally had to peace out, i couldn't hack it, i think i peace out 23-19 maybe. so i missed quite a bit. however, i'm trying to sleep and i hear two floors down, steve screaming, then i started hearing doors opening and shutting, fireworks going off, i mean amazing. so i'm sitting there trying to sleep with a smile on my face. it was great, storm scan3, nice and quiet at this point, few flurries, that have since start today fizzle across central pa. we are in fact going to see these skies clear nicely, none of the snow flurries are reach us. >> will be more clouds tomorrow, sign of the next storm yet to come. so if we ends up with a parade on wednesday, there may be some wet weather to deal with. actually there will be wet weather to deal with.

the question is what kind of precipitation will there be at the given appointed time. likely we start the day off here on wednesday with some icing. so, this is going to be attributing i travel day, skies will be gradually clearing through the day, up to 36, gusty winds though to make it feel much colder than the thermometer reads, any time the win blows you will be hugging the winter coat extra time. staying cloudy tonight, drop down to 25, then looking forwards again next big thing comes here tuesday night into wednesday. with a mix of rain and snow. by thursday, you're hell back to the mid 30's, under the sunshine, and it is just a generally chilly forecast, until we hit sunday. >> katie, thank you so much. very, very good and happy monday morning to all of you, so i want to pull your attention right away it will be very busy around center city because a lot of roads are blocked off to a downed pole, wires, light, and all of that kind of stuff. mainly from the parting -- party that happened overnight. because that far also seeing some other problem spots
