know for the big party, good morning, jan. >> reporter: rahel and jim, good morning. we are talking about transportation to the big party, at this hour. remember when the pope was here the advice is the same for this eagles parade, officials say be prepared to walk, and to walk a lot, to get here to the parkway, come tomorrow. after all probably 3 million people, will turn up here on the parkway to celebrate the eagles super bowl win and if you do the math, public transportation will be overloaded. septa has released its service plan and they wanted you to start thinking about transportation yesterday, officials say that septa can trans port 500 to 550,000 people, to and from the parade here in center city come tomorrow. that is only about one in four people likely want to attend so, septa is consolidating stops on its rail lines to provide express style services , and to help with crowd control, that is something they have learn from the 2008 phillies parade. now the good news is once you
4:35 am
get to the market frankford or broad street line, those lines are both free, thanks to independent blue cross. using regional rail line service will operate inbound only in the morning and outbound only after the parade you will also need to purchase a ten-dollar special ticket pass for service on the regional rail lines on thursday, septa's goal to move a large number of people but they realize that there are limitations. >> we have 165 passengers per car when they are really loaded up and we have 156 cars that we will be putting out into service. so our capacity per hour to move customers is 35,000 passengers on the market frankford line. >> reporter: realize it will be slow going, lets get back to that independent pass now they are limited to 50,000 people and some stations tell us that they have already sold out. other stations tell us that they sold out yesterday, but they do expect to get more in today but they all warned,
4:36 am
that those passes likely will be hard to come by at this point. we will continue to cover all of the parade prep coming up live, at 5:00 we will take a look at the route and what you can and cannot bring to the parade come tomorrow. live atop art museum steps, jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> inportant details there, we will see you then, thank you. we have everything you need to know about the super bowl parade on our web site you can see the parade route, roads, closures and learn how to get the two parade using mass transit just visit cbs philly.com or cbs local app. of course you can watch the parade from your home tomorrow on cbs-3, our coverage starts at 9:00, ahead of the celebration, we will track the crowds and traffic, then parade kicks off around 11:00. we will follow the team as they helped up broad street up toward the art museum. watch our coverage on line at cbs philly.com and cbs philly facebook page as well. well, a local eagles fan is back home after watching the eagles win the super bowl

4:42 am
of detailed discussions which we don't often have time for, but lets try to get you to the nitty-gritty basics here. we have on set of this in the next hour and a half or so but big picture shows a lot less of this, it is a warm, cold front but happen to come through during same day affecting both commuteness a substantial way. i throw not only to future radar but future temperatures to understand why this is taking place you will be in the 30's down to the south, but only teens, to the north, so way cold enough to support snow, initially for us for a decent amount of time in southeastern pennsylvania but as we get close tore freeze ago long i-95 it turns over to some icing and with time it gets milder and milder and turns over to some rain. there will likely be a lull between the front but it will get started all over again. you need the umbrella today but it could be not just snow but icing that accumulates up in the poconos where we will get hit hard with the wintry

weather but we have our fair share of drenching potentially flooding rain out of this through the rest of the day. i worry about ponding on the road, flash flooding for evening drive but morning commute is a coating to an inch of slush, some snow, some ice, and then we will see it turn over to rain with time. hope for that break between fronts here but this is regard list an all day event. up to 8 inches of snow in the poconos. they are probably loving this. but regardless that is a mess. now for the eagles parade we're back to sunshine but blustery weather and watch for icing, refreezing from anything that falls today, do i think that it will be a issue but at least sun back so better day for parade by comparison and we will rebound this weekend, meisha. >> thank you so much. so far on the city camera shots we are still looking okay. we have tacony palmyra bridge scheduled to go up around 4:30 but it is upright now. heading out there just a heads up that bridge is now up. we are tracking this accident

welcome back as we overlook a very quiet center city philadelphia from central parkway library overlooking logan square, basilica there off in the distance and nothing to speak of yet when it comes to precipitation but this is your warning, your head up, trying to beat the rain, the ice, the snow, hit the road, get on out of there, hit the road now and try to get ahead of it because right new we still have a little bit of the window getting shorter and short year this storm system gets in here and once
4:54 am
wet weather starts, that, you know, is going to be something that goes downhill in a substantial, quick fashion. so lets take a look storm scan right now is very quiet but we are looking at a three hour loop over kent county and it appears icing, sleet, freezing rain is now, beginning to lift into here, but this will continue to over spread the delaware valley as morning progresses. so it is right on q, really this still applies, but we were showing you this graphic yesterday and still applies, today but we are looking at heavy snow especially for poconos but even in these north and western suburbs, in that, blue shaded area two to four mixing with some ice out there too. in the city i-95, pink shaded area in short we have a whole mixed bag of snow, sleet, freezing rain initially but that, with time will turn over to rain with a brief break in there for late morning. it is mainly a rain event down through south jersey and delaware but as we just saw it looks like there may still be
4:55 am
slickness out there on the kent county road this is morning. would i just take your time, plan on it taking an extra handful of minutes to get where we are going here today and with the mixed bag we got it is a different issue depending where you are, know that it is coming assume it could be slick, and expect as well but p.m. rush will be just, as slow but would i say more dangerous of the commutes happens this morning because of the icing concerns before that temperature climbs. new moving forward, hey at least it is all gone in time for parade day but where bye left over icing keep that in mind coming into philadelphia and descending upon that parade right because it could be slick to get here but at least drying out, meisha. >> for morning commuters do you think around sixish. >> it is starting to move in, kent county, so would i say at this point just hit the road and try to beat it. >> awesome, thanks so much, katie, hit the road, give yourself extra time, and take it easy, out there you will to have pack your patients.
4:56 am
this will affect you. so we have an accident out here boulevard north bound ramp from ridge avenue just a heads up frozen camera shot there but it is getting busy around there and pass by this, so you can see flashing lights , overnight closures on the schuylkill westbound clos ed from south street to the vine, that has also all since been cleared so that is looking good there. lets talk about how vick trim parade will affect septa because for so many of you this is what you will to have take because parking is going to be no good. so septa will be your best option, couple things you have to know. septa will be running modified schedule. only flex stations will be opened so just make sure to check out our web site or, frankford line and broad street are running free ride and regional rails inbound only in the a.m., outbound only after the parade. of course we have more to talk about. there is a lot going on, patco is running a modified schedule as well as new jersey transit. more on this in the next 10 minutes. rahel and jim, back over to you. a chicago area family is celebrating an almost
