is time for final touches as the city prepares to celebrate history. philly's first super bowl parade. good evening, i'm ukee washington. i'm jessica dean. continuation of a wonderful week for eagles fans all around the region. they are ready for one more party. >> we've got team three coverage for you tonight we will get to the art museum in a moment but first lets go to joe holden. the question is how are people getting to the celebration. >> reporter: ukee, that is a fine question at this point. we know parking lots at stadiums will be off limits so lets talk transportation. septa in particular, we are ublic transportatthe mayor's but we sat down with the gm of septa. buses not optimal because there are so many detours. regional rails are already all booked sid, with those passes, so your best bet, is if you can get to one of the terminals served by market frankford line and broad street sub kay. speaking of it, as they will

be your option they canarry 60,000 people an hour. thursday morning will be the rush hour of all rush hours. >> i think either way it is going to be possibly historic. >> reporter: penndot regional command these monitors will reveal in real time the trouble spots, hiccups and traffic nightmares. >> anytime it happens, it comes out of here first, people will be alerted to the minute. >> reporter: all interstates will be opened but head up broad street exit will be closed off of i-95. twenty-second and broad street exit off 676 will also be a no go. we should add pking lots in the stadiums will be unavailable. >> we are trying to help people to get there. >> reporter: september general will increase serviceshat but listen up even with the system running efficiently and at full capacity, with his figures of 2.4 million people expect for the parade, the transit system can only carry 550,000 riders.

for "eyewitness news". >> thanks, gentlemen. planning to take patco to the parade tomorrow and you don't always have a ticket you are out of luck. patco stopped selling tickets. earlier people line up at tickets for tomorrow. ticket holders and freedom card holders are encouraged to arrive early. >> by the end of the day we will move approximately 80,000 people, and just having a ticket may not guarantee you a ride. >> now tomorrow patco will be running a modified scheduled with trains stopping in four stationness new jersey, lindenwald, wood crest, ferry avenue and broadway. in philadelphia, ninth, tenth, and locust will be the only stops. new jersey transit is also suspending ticket sales on atlantic city rail line for tomorrow. >> so for other changes, new jersey trans i making you can find it all, at cbs philly .com. while fans have been planning on how to get to the parade crews have been working very hard to get it all ready

in time. >> "eyewitness news" reporter greg argos is live on the art museum steps and giving us a look at the stage and what parade goers can expect tomorrow, greg. a lot of work than done at the steps. before the parade can begin the stage has to be finalized and we are told workers will work well into the evening. when you have an event that could attract multiple millions of people it is nice to have sometime, to plan. >> you can have a hundred days to plan it out. >> reporter: that is not just the case with the eagles super bowl champions parade. >> in this case we didn't to have worry about all of the advanced planning we just looked at it and said these are final days. >> reporter: produce are frankenstein and his team are busy at work literally setting stage for the eagles players. thursday's parade and planning it condensed in the time frame of less than one week. >> there is a list but is same list that if we had a

oregon, and told "eyewitness news" nothing meant american then being back home for this victory parade. there wouldn't be a parade if in the for players. >> got that right today bird and head coach doug pederson spoke to the media ahead of the celebration. leslie van arsdal joins us now you know players are still flying high, in doubt. >> reporter: they cannot wait for tomorrow. tomorrow's big day but today players are cleaning out those lockers at novacare complex in south philadelphia. super bowl champs together again packing up their personal belongings because they are about to go on a well deserved vacation. head coachoug pederson speaking to the media and he said he was happy to see everyone together again. >> this is first time we have been together since the game and just the joy, the excitement, and just knowing that what h through , you know, this year it is a pretty special thing. like i told them, this team, this team is inked in nfl history, philadelphia eagles

course, much different scene it will be tomorrow because it will be sunny and it is a sea of green but right now still raining, lightly but we are nearing the back edge of the precipitation so good news there. rainfall is about to wrap up in center city philadelphia but there is a lot of uponning on the roadways, even localized flooding we ran into on broad street, going through deep puddles so be aware heading out and about over next couple hours and overnight tonight is going to be the concern for refreezing, black icera dropping, below 32 degrees in the city, by about midnight, before that in the suburbs, so do watch out for icy spots and temperatures high temperatures barely going to break the freezing mark, guys soe need to be very careful those icy spots is there a ton of water to make a lot of ice overnight tonight and boy tomorrow morning be careful driving, walking tomorrow for the parade because nothing will ruin a fun day more than

slipping and falling on your bum. so everybody be careful. >> that is right, we dent want any twisted ankles at the parade for sure and as lauren said if you see something tomorrow morning or tonight fit looks wet just assume it is ice be on the safe side because there will be very slippery spots out there in the wake of tonight's rain. we are and it dries out and gets wind to pick up but before temperatures dry things out in the so much tonight, it is still raining lightly in the city but heavier heading in to south jersey and delaware, pockets of steady downpours here in same, countiet county, delaware and few light showers, back to the west as well. we pick up 5 inches of snow, in toby hanna, 2 inches in allentown, 1.1 in gilbertsville. not much, just that light coating, it is more of a slush and ice. we pick up .3 of an inch of ice here in philadelphia slippery morning gave way to a wet afternoon but by 7:00 we

hospitals in philadelphia have geared up to handle any medical issues that happen during theagles victory celebration. >> health reporter stephanie stahl has more on that cold is a big issue, hospitals are ready for that and everything else with the huge crowds expect it is trick toy getothe t them to a hospital, but the city says everyone who need help will get it and the

hospitals are ready. hand monies closer hospital to the parade ground zero for injuries that might happen during the eagles victory celebration. >> sickes people will be taken care of first. >> reporter: doctor eric says emergency department is already crowded with flu cases but like hospitals all over the city they are ready for additional patients. >> hot lights and just add really local heat. >> reporter: cold weather is biggest medical concern, there are a variety of ways to treat hypotheria, including heated iv fluid, to raise the body temperature. >> we can just grab this and when necessary pull a warm blanket out. >> reporter: warm blanket put around patient to warm them up >> correct, as your body temperature starts to drop you get more sluggish. you will feel tired, out of it but you can still think. temperatures start to get letter you lose your ability to reason appropriately, it can be dangerous, dangerous heart arrhythmia. >> reporter: doctors say it is important to dress in warm layers, pay special attention to feet, hands and ears to

prevent frostbite, most importantly your head. >> hats help prevent heat loss , large percentage of the body's heatings out through the head. >> reporter: other medical concern is people drinking too much. >> alcohol actually impedes your ability to handle the cold, it tends to suck the warmth out of you. biggest dangers will be because people don't have ot hit their head and worry about bleeding in the brain. >> reporter: another thing, with eagles fans crowded togeth for theig parade, what about spreading the flu,s n our area right now. well, i asked experts about this. they say it is in more likely then in any other public location, but probably still a good idea to wash your hands, if you can, take hand sanitizer and if you are sick, please stay home. >> that goes for everybody. >> watch it on >> great coverage, all day, stay warmozy. >> that i nice and warm and watching on tv.
