wildwood crest and police say two burglars thought they would be able to pray on empty shore homes. eagle eye neighbors in the 200 block here last week thought something looked unusual and called 911. >> they were noticing in the backyard, acting suspicious and they why moth supposed to be there. >> it wasn't their property. >> reporter: meet gregory jewel an owe and christian, the boyfriend girlfriend pair from pa burglarized two homes from the crest. he was accused in the third burglary. police took million inner to cost cut i where he apparently split. >> he was hiding in the attic where he was discovered. >> reporter: detectives pieced their case together, by following a trail of heroin and meth allegedly left behind by the pair. we are told police recovered a crowbar. >> this couple has been described as small time crime wave, police say that they have recovered a cash register taken from a local business, as a place where the couple was staying. police also say that they located $1,000, taken in a

purse snatching at a local grocery store. and then is there the pennsylvania connection. parentally they did some things in pennsylvania, apparently multiple burglaries and thefts up there. >> reporter: we checked on that a slew of burglary and theft charges have been filed begins the two out of hatfield township. both are being held without bail at cape may county jail. meanwhile police in wildwood crest have a program, where they will check in on summer homes. >> we go around once every two and a half, three weeks, check your property from the outside , make sure there is no forced entry and then we record that information. >> reporter: homeowners are encouraged to sign up at the he lease department. in wildwood crest, joe holden for cbs-3 eyewitness news. a philadelphia man is in critical condition, tonight after being, abduct, tied up, and then burned in his own car police say they believe he was targeted. >> reporter: this is a bizarre story and this is a tragic story, authorities say that the suspects, three suspects they are looking for, knew victim in this case but details are horrific. that 34 year-old victim is currently in the hospital fighting with severe burns on his lower extremities. authorities say that the victim was walking near ventnor and harbison overnight , in wissonoming, when he was abduct. he was taken to westford road in olney in his own car, tied up, drenched in gasoline and then set on fire, inside of the car. neighbors heard screams this morning. they called police. police were on the scene. authorities say after the abduction the three suspects used the victim's cell phone, demanded $10,000 in cash from the victim's family, the man handling the case here at philadelphia police special victims has decade of experience and says without a question in this case he believes that the suspect knew the victims in this case.

attorney general jeff sessions was in philadelphia today to accept an award from the union league. sessions accepted the abraham lincoln ward during the league 's annual lincoln day celebrations. and in his remarks the attorney general expressed support for law enforcement and also brought up immigration and the soon to end daca program and dreamers. sessions addressed what he says are absurd injunction is a begins the administration's actions to end daca. >> we provided legal counsel to end the daca policy, and there was unlawful, we were being sued saying changes in the daca policy that were blocked by the courts, that change can be brought back to what it was, for 40 years before. >> the attorney general also denounced sanctuary cities like philadelphia. donald trump, junior says his wife is safe, unharmed after she opened up an envelope containing unidentified white powder. authorities now say that vanessa trump was at her

mother's midtown apartment when she opened up the letter addressed to her husband. when she saw the suspense she called 191 and she felt nauseous and was coughing. president's daughter in law was taken to the hospital as a precaution but police say the powder withs not harmful. new york police and secret service are investigating. president trump's $4.4 trillion budget proposal that was sent to congress is heavy on investments for the nation's roads, highways and airports. much of the $1.5 billion plan would be paid for by state and local governments and the private sector. the president's budget proposal also ear clarks $23 billion, for border, security and $17 billion to fight the opioid epidemic. the plan faces an uphill climb in congress, law makers from both side have concerns, about the plan's cost and trillions of dollars in proposed cuts, to some local programs like medicaid. stay tuned on the many's budget on cbs evening news with us jeff glor tonight at

things off. a pleasant evening in progress but temperatures are cooling, pretty rapidly. cold front has moved through the delaware valley. we have cooled 3 degrees over last hour now that the sun has set, 44 degrees as we look live at center city philadelphia northerly wins at eight, so that northerly component is ushering in this cooler air. wind chill temperatures right now at 40. our high temperature today is 61 degrees, because that was at 2:00 a.m. so we have miss that had. our low temperature came this afternoon at 42 degrees, and then yesterday, temperatures are slowly cooling on down 36 degrees in allentown. thirty in mount pocono. forty in atlantic city. 42 degrees in millville. we will usual inner slightly colder air off to the north, 33 in trenton. thirty-four in state college. nothing too frigid, temperatures dropping back to average after very mild conditions throughout the weekend. we are looking breezy on the back side of the front. winds gusting to 30 miles an hour range but wins will relax
