hey! >> meredith didn't think she would ever see her dog colonel again. that is because he had been missing for more than three years. >> on wednesday i got a call from the jonesboro humane society that they had a dog turned in, and when they scanned his chip it showed that he was registered to us. so she drove more than 300 miles to reunite with her long love dog. the 11 year old terrier ran away from home in november of 2014. >> he was kind of a he is escape artist, had gotten out couple of times before we had him chipped he had gotten out then the animal shelter encouraged to get him chipped. thankfully they did that before the last time that he got out. >> meredith says the family searched for colonel consistently for a month and then on and off again for the next year, thinking of course, that they would never see him again. >> really sad. >> first doggy ever had. >> well understandably so. and 11 year old terrier runs away from home and missing for

a years yes pleural most of us would probably lose little hope. in fact, hank says in the time colonel was missing her family had moved had another baby and even gotten another dog in the years of his absence she says now they're beyond thrilled to have their entire family back together again. something they never actually thought would happen. so glad colonel is back home. who would have thought three years later. >> can you imagine the stories he has cents to tell? >> so funny you said, that i was thinking, why can't they speak english and tell us where they've been. can you imagine, three years? >> i had this cat named peanut and my mom said whatever happened to peanut because i found your john he will praying every night that little peanut would come back, this little orange tab that i would sit on me like a little monkey and he ran away but he never came back. so peanut, if you're still out there, come back! >> how old would he be, 106? >> oh, woe have been like a parent at that age.
