they will be able to rehab, that building but it will take sometime. now coming up on "eyewitness news" at 6:00 very latest on the unfolding investigation and who exactly owned, or who had, a tenantship in that building, we will see you in an hour for that side of the story. reporting live, i'm joe holden for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". an early warning fire, rips through a south jersey ambulance company turning most of its fleet to scraps, fire fighters were called to the woodstown american legion ambulance association around 4:00 a.m. fast moving fire kept them busy for an hour and a half. and our alycia nieves is live tonight, this was an explosive fire. >> reporter: jessica this certainly was an explosive fire, fire fighters and witnesses both told us they heard at lee four different explosions in this, now gutted ambulance association as the fire ripped through here this morning. now fire marshals have been out here all day but they are still unable to determine what

caused this scary and damaging fire. fire 911 call came in around 4:00 in the morning a call for fire fighters to race to this south jersey ambulance association, the building was on fire. >> i heard an explosion, and then about two or three minutes later heard another explosion. >> reporter: according to fire fighters oxygen tanks in each ambulance exploded as fire moved to the right side of the building to the left and on the left was four members of the woodstown american legion ambulance association, and they were sleeping. >> one of them woke up, smelled smoke, and he was a fire fighter and checkup stairs in the attic didn't see anything and then went out in the ambulance bays, and then saw smoke on the ground and he got the other crew out. >> reporter: it took fire fighters over an hour to knock down the blaze, very little is left of this ambulance association, almost all of it's quip. , including six ambulances were destroyed. that is just one ambulance short of the association's

meteorologist kate bilo is outside on the sky deck with the winter warm up. we had snow and now the rain's turn. >> that snow did not last very long at all. there are a few patches still but the warmth, started to come in yesterday and it is only going to get warmer over next two days. take a look out towards reading at whitefeel elementary school still snow but notice how foggy it is getting with the area of snow pack as warm air moves in over that cold ground. we will see fog forming through tonight and that is what we will be dealing with through tomorrow morning as well as that, warmth, that starts to lift in. it is a warm front activating across the northeast. it is over the northern tear of the state of pennsylvania, up into new england right now. not the ton of rain locally, as we zoom in we will see, showers clearing the city, and showers in the lehigh valley and central, and, and, there will be staying through remainder on this have evening as that warm front lifts to the north. temperatures right now it all

depends where you are. lower 40's in the lehigh valley. interior south jersey it is in the lower 50's and we are in the middle of 48 here in philadelphia but look at this bubble of warmth off to the south and west, 67 in columbus , right now, 73 in nashville all that warm air is lifting in, by tomorrow. so this evening will be cloudy with a stray shower, 47 degrees, and temperatures really stay put overnight, 49, we will see those temperatures start to rise, fog, developed, and then as we head into tomorrow that is when temperatures will go off to the races, once the sun comes out. i will time that out and tell you how many record we may break this week. for now, back inside to you. >> thank you, kate. philadelphia police are looking for young suspect who tried to enter a score armed with the handgun. suspect was captured on surveillance video outside fredrick douglas mastery charter school last thursday. he tried to get inside school but doors were locked. police believed that the suspect is between 13 and 16 years of age. if you recognize them please

new research finds a discrepancy in the way male and female heart failure patients are treated. >> health reporter stephanie stahl has more now in the einstein health care science center. >> reporter: report interesting new study they found here scientistness this study focused on implantable devices things like pacemakers , they found woman received these devices less often then men even though they benefit just as much. implantable heart devices can be life savers for patient was heart failure or for those with an irregular heartbeat, study looked at outcome of more than a quarter million heart patient whose received an implantable device. researchers found woman were less than 30 percent likely to get an implantable device but their survival rates following crt therapy was 30 certificate sent better than that of men. >> men and women had identical , survival following this therapy and this is a first. for this therapy, women had a much better outcome following,

outside right now. you can see it is getting foggy. this is a live look from place one apartments in plymouth meeting and we will see a sunset on this camera. not tonight, it is foggy outside. low cloud, fog, most of the showers have moved on out but we will deal with pockets of dense fog through tonight and into tomorrow morning, as i will show you. if you do have plans to head out the fog can come up on you quickly and be safe out there, take it slow, leave plenty of room between you and car in front of you, things are slow going. storm scan three shows the problem we have a warm front to the north, here's warm front right here, cold front extending back in the portions of the planes and that won't get here until late wednesday. in the meantime we're seeing all this warmth, surge from the south, got showers, moving off to the north and as the showers move out, we will be dealing with the warm air moving over the much colder ground and that causes, of course, threat for fog that is what we are seeing tonight. showers have largely, exited the area. we are seeing a few sprinkles over bucks county, mercer county new jersey and poconos. still cannot rule out a stray

through first part of tonight but steady rain has moved out and now we are dealing with the fog, temperatures are going to stay steady, right through overnight hours, possibly even rising, a few degrees as that warm air starts to lift in. this system serious warmth for february. still seeing showers over next couple of hours off to the north, 10:00 o'clock we are dealing with low cloud, fog and that will continue. we will see dark gray here indication overnight that the fog will be with us tomorrow morning as well, and slowly the fog will begin to mix out and possibly by 11 or noon we will see the sun coming out tomorrow, it does redevelop tomorrow night, so we will be dealing with fog again into your wednesday morning. this is what we're looking at tonight as we head in the overnight hours for a time visability may be near zero across the entire area. totally stocked in with fog and that is the case tomorrow morning. heading out to work at 9:00 a.m. visability near zero in a few spots. we will get better visability through afternoon only to see them drop again tomorrow night and wednesday morning. but it is a taste have may,

price we have to pay is morning fog we will take it because look at this jet stream biloing to the north all this warmth shooting from the south and temperatures over the next few days will be about 30 degrees, above the average, and we may break two records, forecasted high for tomorrow 71 degrees. record is 70. that is a close one setback in 1939. wednesday we will approach 75 degrees for the high, record is 72, from way back in 1930. it looks like both of those days we have a good chance of breaking a record here in philadelphia dense fog overnight slow warming and then again tomorrow 71, fog, cloud in the morning with little gray early but in the afternoon sun will inn reese record warmth at 71 degrees. your seven day forecast shows temperatures even right into the weekend above average for february. wednesday is warmest day, thursday we will stay to cool down showers likely friday is more seasonal and at 48 and then we will shoot right back to 63 on saturday. fifty-nine about some rain on

historic palestra arena anita oh tells us how pal day helps inspire students to shoot for the stars. >> reporter: it is known as cathedral of basketball and on monday palestra on pen's campus became sanctuary for about 200 children. >> i love ball. >> reporter: so out of school for presidents day the youth spent the day inbound for annual pal day organized by police athletic league of philadelphia. >> the goal to give these, kid a safe season promoting development and reducing crime , and reducing, opportunities along the way. >> reporter: pal has 20 centers across the city each staffed with the dedicated police officer. >> we are starting to get closer and closer, because i go every day. >> reporter: naji reid said he goes to the strawberry mansion location almost every day after school and has bonded with his pal officer richardo mansion.
