two days, but it feels warm out there, you mention that fog, it is still out here, no where near as well as the grounds in the city as it has been earlier this morning. i can now make out what's going on down 16th street, behind me here on the skydeck, do still have minor problems, quickly show you the current, yes, we've got heck of a lot bet nerve most cases up 10 miles in most spots right now south philly, but you don't looking at allentown still under half mile. even since the i last checked out on the skydeck gotten bet nerve reading but minor issue with that, now as skies continue to clear, we are eventually going to see more and more sun. you're already seeing that the live networked, in rehoboth, separate shot granted the really bat fog we had earlier this morning has now lifted but it is still little cloudy, at whitfield elementary next-door in reading, kids are out for recess understandably

nice mile beginning to the afternoon. now we are starting to really see these clouds lift out nicely. there should be more and more sun as the hours progress. we're starting to warm up already, flirting with 70 in dover. and on pace to hit the low 70s even here in the city. the numbers to beat on the left, the records, and we we'll have few more given today as forecast. so we've got our colleagues all over the delaware valley enjoying this warmth, one of them is lauren casey out on the schuylkill river park, how is it feeling there, lauren? >> it is feeling great out here right now. yes, over at the schuylkill river trail right by the trail and the dog park so i thought i would bring my puppy chi chi , now, according to chi chi she wouldn't classify it yet as warm, still little bit of the shakes going on, feel the low level cloud deck in place, but it looks like it is just wants to break out. we have the temperature in place, cooler air at the surface, warmer air in the

atmosphere, but as we continue to get the heating of the day that is going to breakdown, and i would imagine as we head later into this afternoon as the sun breaks out, those temperatures soar up to the 70s, and this dog park is going to be jamming and busy, so, i think maybe me and chi chi will try to head out little later when the sun pops out. little more conducive to how she likes the temperatures to be, big fan of the 70s, but we'll get little pupchino to warm her up. >> very good, lauren, warm tuesday afternoon, thank you, lauren. >> in other news, one person remains in the hospital this afternoon following a septa bus accident in the city track frankford and orthodox, 15 passengers taken to einstein medical sent ever. , none of the injuries considered serious. the truck driver taken to aria-torresdale with non-life threatening injuries.

>> cleaning up liquid asphalt, spilled from truck as it traveled along i295 in south jersey, stickying situation unfolded along 295 southbound between exit 18 paulsboro and exit one, for the delaware memorial bridge. "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan is live along 295 in carney's point where some drivers reported getting stuck in the big mess. good afternoon, cleve. >> reporter: good afternoon, jim, yes, we got off exit two here, some of the cars with damaged tires got off here and saferly said some drove over to the nearby woodstown barracks to report the substance on the road. now, we didn't go to see any of the tires first-hand, because it did happen quite a little while ago at 5:00 a.m. this morning, to 7:00 a.m. this morning, people reporting these tires. but we got close look at what was on the road. >> take a look at this video that we saw. >> this was crews scraping up that thick tar-like substance off the road at billings port road in marlboro near where the tar truck started spilling the black goo.

>> according to the tri-state transportation, they say one of their trucks around 5:00 a.m. caring liquid asphalt from a refinery in paulsboro, did a pole overdue to condensation in the standing. they don't know exactly how much spilled out. but we could see from ourselves as we were driving south of paulsboro to exit two there was stuff all over the roadways, and it seemed to continue ongoing toward the delaware memorial bridge. jersey state police say about 20 cars or so reported damages but they didn't have any accidents associated with the spill, and no injuries. their investigation is still continuing, as we heard from tri-state their driver didn't realize that this tar or liquid as is fault was cents coming out of the truck and continued all the way down onto baltimore. they say they weren't aware of any other incidents at the time. but as we were driving down, we saw this 295, now open headed southbound where the spill happened. and as we were leaving paulsboro around 11:00 a.m. this morning, it appeared they were going to reopen the roadways there. that's the latest from the

i have guns. i respect guns. as long as they're handled properly, which is the right to own a gun. >> student at the high schools cruz attacked are attending funerals for their classmates this week, they prepare to resume classes next tuesday. kenneth craig, for cbs-3, " eyewitness news". president trump calling on pennsylvania republicans to challenge new congressional district map all the way to the supreme court. the president tweeted this morning that a previous map drawn by state gop lawmakers was correct. pennsylvania supreme court unveiled the new map yesterday not many say the overhaul could help democrats pick up house seats in 2018. goes in effect in time for pennsylvania primary day on may 15th. we have some sad news to report now from the philadelphia zoo. goldilocks beloved polar barajas died. >> officials tell us she was euthanize today recent decline in her health. "eyewitness news" was there when she celebrated her 37th birthday back in december goldilocks was the oldest bear in the country. she arrived at the philadelphia zoo way back in

>> welcome back, con zoomer product safety commission filed complaints against this jogging stroller. they allege that certain models of the stroller contained design defect, which can cause the wheel to detach. consumers have reported various injuries, in children and adult, including cut, fractures and concussions. the cpsc authorized complaint after critics failed to recall or repair the strollers. imagine kfc running out every tickets? closed hundreds cents of restaurants, kfc says the shortage occurred, and meantime blames operational issues, no word on how soon the restaurants will be back in business. the annual new york toy

>> yes. >> may be february. but it feels like may. >> indeed it does. very warm couple of days coming up, not only this afternoon, but tomorrow afternoon, and a good portion of this forecast is actually well above average. really nice stretch. now, we'll have some ups ands downs, again get me wrong, but for now starting to see the clouds start to break, they're trying to. and many of you do already have some sunshine but still waiting on the cloud deck to break out depending where you are. so a little bit of variety of cloud cover depending on location, one place finally able to see a lot more though is bethlehem. just next-door in allentown we showed you earlier one of the few spots left, that is still encountering minor visibility issues, but at least at this point you can see a lot further in the distance, you can almost make out, now, moravian college, but still looking little damp, too, you know the clammy necessary to the air walking out the door. starting to bryant up here. going next to very wide zoom on storm scan you'll see broad

strung out system. we had the warmfront lift in yesterday. that brought in the showers. then we had the fog. and the drizzle even early this morning from us sitting in this warm sector of the storm. so until this front crosses through that's where we will sit, right through tomorrow afternoon. that means fog is probably a recurring theme for us headed into tomorrow morning. so we take you into future visibility at 10:00 p.m., that's when we already are starting to see the visibilities drop off. it shouldn't be as a wide widespread or b as poor as is visibility issue for you tomorrow morning, but places like allentown as we wake up dark and early here on " eyewitness news," you could be already be down to near zero visibility in a place like allentown let alone under mile along i-95. so this will be an occurring issue for us tomorrow. and i won't be shocked if the weather service ends up putting out an advisory because of it, but should break up little sooner than it did this morning. in the meantime, our rain chances cents do begin to go up in the next few days. because we do have cold front coming through. that comes through wednesday

night into thursday. then we have separate batch of rain on friday. and then another batch of moisture heading into saturday snow is a very active pattern. we jump you again, in the future, to what's going on by 6:00 p.m. tomorrow evening, that's when the combination at least of the cold front start to get in here. strictly rain showers should be scattered, temperatures begin to drop off. could you see showers at any point during the day. this is 3:00 p.m. thursday, still some wet weather to track. then things do begin to clear out. again, there is cents another system, already moving in, by friday, so you're not going to catch much of a break even between systems. here is where we currently stand. we show that to you little earlier in the show. look how warm it is in charleston. even in little rock, 74, can you tell where this cold front is situated? i would say pretty obvious, looking even just from st. louis to omaha. what? you're talking about a 50 degrees difference here,

just between these two or three states. so it is a dramatic cut-off. we are going to see that warmth rebuild even into the seven day very quickly. so it is not going to be very cool for very long. we drop to 56 tonight as that fog redevelops late. it should be pretty patchy, tomorrow the record breaking day of 75, expecting record breaker today, too. thursday hit 60 degrees very early, then the temperature start to drop off as the day goes on, level off in the afternoon, but still, that potential of rain. it is out there. i can't guarantee you a totally dry day until probably next week right now. >> oh, well. got to take it while we can. >> thank you very much. katie, appreciate it, anyone who has a dog will tell you they really can be man's best friends. >> they sure k meisha has the tail of a her hoe i can day in today's love it. >> in today's love your pet day, every day is really, right? and with very good reason. but one family from this loving on their favorite pooch particularly because he potentially saved their life.

take a look. >> ♪ >> go get it, pick it up, bring it here. >> attentive, loving, well trained, ruby the pitbull doesn't bark very often. it. >> typically she only barks for one reason, and that's if somebody is at the door. >> so one night recently when she wouldn't stop, owner and her husband new something was up. they new ruby was trying to tell them something. she got up. she came into the kitchen. she went downstairs where you came in. she can open the gate by herself. that gate is lock but she opened it up. and she was standing down there. >> it turns out they had put a propane heater in their basement, and when the door was opened, ruby immediately smelled carbon monoxide. she took the smell and got her owners attention. >> probably if it weren't for ruby, i can't say what, i don't know. >> rube is he now a trained therapy dog but never had rescue training. her owners say that was all

inch sting. >> ♪ >> ♪ >> oh, i love it. animals are so incredible. and owner huskies vocal advocate for pitbulls, and wants the community to know there are unfair misconceptions about the breed , the breed gets a bad rap, tough, very protective but when raised the correct way in a loving way just like any living thing they make wonderful pets and if they're trained well and kept active. now they're forever grateful for what they call their will in angel, little lifesaver literally. way to go, ruby, i love it. i was reading something about a dog can upward of 10,000 times the ability to smell than human being. and that he this can even detect some cancers like lung cancer, prostate, and they can detect when a seizure is com ing. >> this this case, ruby to the rescue. >> that sounds like a good cartoon or children's book. >> you bet. >>
