>> hi, guys i don't know if you can see me i'm doing my best parade wave very excited to be out here in this beautiful weather, i'm in short sleeves, it is mid-february it feels fantastic. earlier i was out here recording promos and it was almost hot, fanning myself you don't get that in february in philadelphia too often. let it be known i'm not complaining. lets look at how this pattern is really shaping up. you can see checking out storm scan three there is a strong cold front off to the west lurking off to the west and warm sector of this storm. as that front lurks to the west it is driving in, this really strong southeasterly flow, bringing all this warmth and moisture in from the gulf of mexico and deep south. warm front far enough to the north ape we are not seeing anything as far as cloud cover or rain. skies cleared out very nicely today once fog mixed out and turn into a beautiful afternoon and we can see that strong south wind, bringing temperatures to record levels. seventy-one, still right now in philadelphia.

"eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan is live in maple shade with details on this, cleve. >> reporter: there is talk about threats but in word if there are any actual threat made begins students here at maple shade high school, over these racist, videos allegedly made by students at the school , but as a precaution, we saw that there were extra police officers here today and letter sent out reassuring parents that this matter is being addressed. >> one of my friends said she wasn't even going to send her child to school today. >> reporter: questions about student safety and racist behavior led to increased police presence at maple shade high school on tuesday, officials say it is related to posts on social media. >> all i know is that they named this racist video and put it on social media and then they made a threat to the school. >> reporter: in a letter to parents school officials say they were made aware of the person outside school making social media posts over weekend about students at the school. they accused maple shade students of the discriminate

advocates of legalized marijuana gathered in new jersey capitol city for a forum with local leaders. >> new jersey business association, hosted the event in trenton, the forum included a panel of experts, and fields ranging from medicine to law enforcement. organizers say they hope it would help address concerns local officials have about what marijuana legal says means for their municipalities well, groups that sent care packages to troops overseas say they are dealing with the postage problem. >> greg argos explains why a postal price hike may keep volunteers from serving their mission to help others. >> reporter: each year david silver and volunteers from his non-profit, operation yellow ribbon, pack up nearly 2,000 care packages and send them to servicemen and women overseas. >> they hold 30 to 40-pounds

degrees warmer. lets look outside, we will start off in the poconos beautiful up there new record in mount pocono 64 degrees today, jack frost big boulder looks like a day to take a boat out on the lake do water skiing, sun shining, great shot there, it looks like there should be leaves on the trees but soon enough a little taste of what spring could feel like. it also feels like a beach day taking a look at boardwalk plaza in rehoboth beach it looks like people are just out , walking around sitting on the sand enjoying walking on the boardwalk today, it felt more like a beach day then winter day by far and it is all thanks to an advancing strong system, see this cold front has moisture witt moving across portions of the great lakes, through chicago, st. louis, freezing rain on the back edge and much colder air lurks behind it. also note thinks front hasn't gotten an easterly push just yet so almost just streaming from south to north. you can get flooding in the situation like this as rain keeps moving over same area

from south to north. tomorrow we will see that front give a eastern push and come to us tomorrow evening but in the meantime we are enjoying weather with temperatures well above average. 71 degrees in philadelphia 72 in wilmington. sixty-nine in millville. our official temperature will question down to 72. we will hit that briefly between, ours breaking original record of zero seven by 2 degrees. you can see where cold is where rain it is much cooler at 50, 78 in lidle rock, 78 in birmingham, 72 raleigh-durham, 75 columbus, mild february, we will get that number up, well about average but you can see a past week or so we have had one day below average and our above average days have been much warmer then our below average days have been below normal. so we are sitting pretty here in february about three and a half degrees above average on the month and we will be add to go that here today, and tomorrow. we do have another round of fog, fog will start moving in overnight see visibility

trailer driver was not hurt. one person remains hospitalized following a september bus accident in frankford. authorities say that a route five september bus hit a tractor trailer at frankford and orthodox around 5:30 this morning. fifteen passengers were taken to abe stein medical center, in of the injuries were considered serious. bus driver was taken to jefferson torresdale with non- life threatening injuries. philadelphia police are searching for three suspects wanted for point of gun robbery in spring garden, surveillance video captured two masks suspects holding up brandywine pizza on north 15th street sunday night. police say third suspect robbed restaurant delivery driver before they fled in the tan or gray chevy impala. they got away were $400. police are investigating a robbery at city wireless store on north broad, it happened friday night, two suspects entered the store and pulled a handgun. they then demanded money from the register, suspects got away with $300. family own businesses are a big part of the american

albertson's is making a major purchase, grocery store chain is buying the rest of rite aide. >> they will 4900 locations and can generate $83 billion in sales every year. albertson's pharmacies will be rebranded as rite aide and some will continue to operate as stand loan stores. albertson's already owns safe way and 19 other supermarket chains. breakfast food giant general mills is getting in on the uni corn craze. they added a new unicorn shaped marshmallow to lucky charms. it is first permanent marshmallow addition to the serial in 10 years. hour glass marshmallow got boot to make room for the new uni corn, some box west uni corn marshmallows are on store shelves and the rest will roll out next month.
