and the record warmth isn't over. good evening i'm jessica dean >> i'm ukee washington. you'll have another chance tomorrow. kate bilo is outside on the sky deck and it's hard to believe you're out there without a coat on that a february night. it's starting to get chilly but not cold enough that you need a winter coat. a light jacket should do the trick. as temperatures still in the low 60's, across much of the area. what we had today, temps were well above average, and we had new records across much of the area. philadelphia set up a new record, 72. the previous record was 70. tied the record in atlantic city at 73. mount pocono, 64 a new record there and wilmington broke a record at 75 degrees. georgetown 72. stormscan 3 showing clear skies across the area, the good news is as i look out across center city, it doesn't look as foggy

as last night. there are areas of dense fog that will be increasing through overnight. again not quite as bad as this time last night. we're watching this cold front to the west. look at all that rain, that's the system that's helping drive in that southwest flow for now. bringing the warmth but the front will come there was tomorrow. so in the meantime. temperatures are still feeling pretty comfortable. 59 at the airport right now. 61 in reading. 60 in atlantic city. i don't know if you can hear the wind. but it's a strong south flow, bringing all that warm air in. and we are headed for another record day tomorrow. coming up i'll tell you just how warm it will be. it will feel more like may or june than february, we're byron borrowed time. we got rain and colder weather in the forecast. i'll tell you how cold it will get. back to you. >> thank you new, philadelphia police are searching for a gunman who shot a teenager multiple times in west philadelphia on the 5600 block of sansom around 8:00.

police say a 17-year-old boy was shot three times. he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. students who survived the florida school shooting travel to tallahassee to urge lawmakers to prevent another massacre. here's some of the video of the students on the bus today heading to the state capitol. they planned to hold a rally tomorrow to put pressure on legislature, the florida house of representatives decided not to take up a bill to ban assault rifles and large capacity magazines. also today, president trump ordered the justice department to propose bump stops. which were used in las vegas, and some marched to city hall for more gun control. >> reporter: the group came out to honor those victims of florida that were murdered last week. they didn't applaud president trump's announcement this afternoon, but they say more should be done. >> they protested with signs and

marched outside philadelphia city hall, as a call for action to enact more gun control in pennsylvania and across the country. this group held a vigil for the 17 killed and many more wounded in park land florida last week. >> i'm tired of coming to vigils like this. i am tired of coming to these events. >> reporter: newly sworn in larry krasner, a former defense attorney was part of the group. he said his fellow politicians need to address the gun control topic locally and nationally >> if we have to go straight after the nra and we have to go straight after people who believe that cars should be regulated but guns should not. we're going to do it because that's what we have to do. >> reporter: the protest began about an hour after president trump announced his proposed ban on bump stops, devices attached to semiautomatic weapons to make them fully automatic. they were used in the deadliest
