that pink starting to show up behind lettering of the storm scan that begins to move into the poconos, lehigh valley area potential potentially with some icing as temperature drops off. you will see this taking place through a variety of mechanism here. we have beautiful color contours that show you where cooler air is moving n we are in the middle of mild air in philadelphia but since last check in last half an her we have dropped another degree in philadelphia these temperatures only continue to decline, and so you are in the 40's in most of the outlining suburbs, 30's in the poconos and as that temperature drops off note that is wind flow is turning more northerly allowing those temperatures to a, drop off to much more typical values but it will feel raw, chilly outside. by 3:00 p.m. we are in the mid to lower 40's here. you really net is that change. we will hit 77 degrees, yesterday, and, so by the time we hit the afternoon we're in the letter 40's, meisha and that is a rude awakening.

ferry road. ninety-five at route 29, ramp close another there and route 29 closed between west upper ferry road and scenic drive, jim, back over to you. we're following a developing story this morning a driver, shot and killed sending her van crashing into a building in philadelphia's fernrock section. >> passengers, several small children were also hurt, "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao is live with the very latest now, jan, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. police described an absolutely wild scene, that unfold there had in fernrock last night, as you mentioned, a van, filled with people, three women, three children traveling north on broad street was shot up, at 8:30 last night, this morning, within of those women is dead, those other five people including three children are all injured but recovering, fortunately in stable condition, lets take a look at the video where we see this all went down. police responding to broad street last night at 8:30. near bay they found this van

crash in the building of the 5800 block of old york road just feet from broad and gran ge intersection, the 23 year-old driver was shot once, pronounced dead at the scene. police say it appears that the shooting happened as that woman was driving north near broad and grange after being hit by gunfire. police say she who control, drove across double yellow lines there on to old york road up into the sidewalk and into that building, along with the driver there, two other women, both in their 20's and three children age two to six years old were also found, inside that wrecked van and injured, take a listen. >> it does not peer that any of those five passengers, the adults and females were struck by gunfire they do not have injuries. we're in the sure how those injuries occurred, they were hit with glass, or as a result of the van crashing into the building. we're not certain but from witness accounts the vehicle

shots were fired from were getting information was traveling northbound next to the van. >> so a chaotic scene there apparently as police say these two vehicles traveling north on broad street when that gunfire broke out, now at this point no motive for this shooting, no suspects, police are hoping that this area 5800 block of broad street has a lot of businesses, they are hoping that the surveillance cameras can hoe, anyone with any information is asked to call police. reporting live outside fill police headquarters this morning, jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". back over to you. >> thanks for that update. ten year-old is dead after a shooting in monmouth county, new jersey this happened 10:30 last night in asbury park. thirty-nine year-old woman was also shot in the leg and she's in the hospital but expect to survive. it is in the clear at this point if the two were targeted police are working to figure out motive. week after deadly high school shooting in florida students who survived the attack are demanding action on gun control.

town meeting got uncomfortable for at least one prominent senator, cbs news, correspondent, hena doba has more. >> never again. >> reporter: from tallahassee to washington d.c. students survived last weeks high school shooting spent the day putting heat on politician toss take action, on gun control. >> senator rubio can you tell me right now that you will not accept a single donation from the nra? >> reporter: florida senator marco rubio would not commit to turning down nra money and at cnn's town hall where students and parents from stoneman douglas high school questioned lawmakers. he did say he would support legislation raising the age limit for buying a rifle. he also agreed to rethink his stance on large capacity magazines. >> that is something i believe we can reach a compromise in this country and i'm willing to reconsider. >> reporter: earlier in the day in washington president trump met with students, parents from douglas high school at sandy hook and

white house with more on president's listening obsession see her report at 7:00 on cbs this morning that air right here after "eyewitness news" this morning at cbs-3. north hampton county district attorney is talking about preventing mass shootings, john morgannelis having a press conference where he will announce a plan to reduce risk of gun related deaths in the county. he will talk about what people live there can do to stay safe that press conference is at 1:00 this afternoon. pennsylvania republicans want u.s. supreme court to step in and block a new congressional district map, presiding officers of the state house, and senate, filed an emergency request with justice samuel alito. they say the state supreme court, seized legislative authority by redrawing and issuing the map. state supreme court ruled that the old map was un constitutional because it was gerrymanderederred to benefit republicans. it issued a new map monday. that is seen as potentially beneficial to democrats. people accused of minor crimes in philadelphia may no

camden county officials. pennsauken police say 46 year-old charles aimer was still wearing his emt uniform last week when he went to meet with what he thought was a 14 year-old girl. the two had allegedly exchanged text messages and planned to meet for sex but instead, aimer was met with police. he works were four different ambulance companies as an emt. police are searching for an armed suspect after two home invasions in feltonville, officers responded to the 200 block of west roosevelt boulevard, for a report of gunshot, shortly after 4:00 yesterday morning. police say that i gunman broke in the man's apartment and pistol whipped him demanding money and drugs. the victim told "eyewitness news" he played dead until he could escape. >> he hit me in my head. >> authorities say the same gunman late's tack a woman in the second floor apartment, and again, while demanding money and drugs. both victims are expected to

embassy was not damage. heavy rain, melting snow are flooding parts of the midwest, emergency crews in illinois rushed to save a woman stranded on top of her car, similar scene played out earlier in the day in south holland a city near chicago, a couple cars submerged in the flood waters there. meanwhile rescuers in st. joseph illinois had to use a canoe to rescue a woman, she apparently ignored road close another signs and car got swept away from the flooding waters. she was in the water for 45 minutes before fire fighters found her. quite the different scene in our region yesterday many people got outside, took advantage of the spring-like temperatures, some soak in the sun at rothman ring in center city while others, biked, boarded, went for a run, kelly drive a very popular spot yesterday. people we caught up said they are loving the warm up or hanging on to winter as long as possible. >> kind of crazy but glad we have this moment to relax, enjoy, sites. >> i would rather it be cold. it is wintertime still.

we are still ready for cold weather out there. >> but one thing is for sure mid 70's temperatures are not here to stay. >> katie, i felt that in colorado within 40 hours they had a 70-degree swing. it could be worse. that is a really common theme, in those kinds of town. here we don't usually see it. it can happen. it has happened. but we will experience it. drastic is word i would use for this because we will end up about 35 degrees colder from yesterday afternoon to this afternoon, and all thanks to a cold front passage that will be bringing in wet weather with it. this is a, really substantial pattern change that we're embarking upon. it is already getting underway in fact. let me just, live in that warmth for one more moment here. lets put this in perspective. we have now, some all time february records, from yesterday. in allentown, in reading, in trenton.

all three of these cities, have new records for the whole month let alone in the day. were you in the lower 80's in allentown and reading, just exceptional warmth, and those numbers in the yellow those were old record. you smashed a couple of these out there. in philadelphia we had 77. this afternoon it will be will 42 degrees. it is a substantial difference , because of this, you can see icing already breaking out across northern tear of pennsylvania as temperatures drop, poconos, northern lehigh valley, i worry about icing there too. just rain every where else. even they it is dry in the city and point south it will not stay that way this whole mess need to work its way through sending temperatures downhill drop there but we will also have eventually a round of additional rain that comes in here in the days ahead. we will see that in the seven day. currently that doesn't look all that wet up here at pleasant valley, middle and high school, tough to tell but street lamp in the looking like a sheen on the road here. wins are picking up making it
