like -- this is "entertainment tonight." the countdown to prince harry and meghan markle's royal wedding has taken an alarming turn with an anthrax scare and investigation. >> in the states we have experienced things like this warfare, but this is the first time the royal family has been targeted like this. >> a source tells "e.t." that there was a white substance sent in an envelope addressed to meghan markle and prince harry. the letter, which was addressed to kensington palace, was received on february 12th, the day before meghan and harry made their trip to scotland. our source tells us, quote, the substance was tested and determined not to be anthrax. scotland yard says the incident, quote, is being treated as a racist hate crime. that's because, we're told, there were racist undertones in the letter. meghan will be the first mixed-race member of the british royal family. the couple addressed the issue of racism in november. >> of course it's disheartening. you know, it's a shame that that is the climate in this world.
