12:20 pm
folks still getting in their ski time at jack frost big boulder, the slopes are slim picking right now since we have had so much melting going on lately, but, you know, this might not be the war week toned hit the slope especially for tomorrow. yes, there is rain in the forecast but i bet you have these slopes to yourself because it is warming up and we have obviously wet weather in this outlook. we will look at the possibility of ice nothing just a second here but lets look wide here and is what happening storm scan. we have a hint of pink over northeastern, pennsylvania, upstate insuring as well, but mainly it is rain from additional fronts that will be moving through in the rest of the region throughout the upcoming weekend. locally, we have hit a lull right now, doesn't mean we're through. i think this batch primarily impacts the northern tear of our area, anyone is fair game for a fine mist at some point rest of the day but that batch moving across pennsylvania right now is primarily going to strike the northern counties. we will talk about how much rain we are going to see in
12:21 pm
the just receipt of today but right through weekend with separate round that is keep coming through here. northwestern counties get hit hard out of this, i don't anticipate this will lead to flooding issues but certainly ponding on the roadways, you know how things end up when we have got rounds of rain that continuously come through there may not be a major flood situation but certainly some minor left over issues with the puddles on the road and what not, spray from vehicles but we can end up with an inch and a half, 2 inches in this zone. so not including philadelphia, but you might see upward of an inch here in the city before it is said and done. winter weather advisory still posted only goes until 1:00 p.m. we will see whether they decide if this need to be extended but temperature has been trying to rebound and it will continue to do so, later on tonight, as we get milder air in here but the problem is , any digsal precipitation that falls, could freeze on contact, and it is not necessarily sleet, or let alone, snow that is falling, but that could lead to some slick travel up this way. if you are trying to heat the slopes for a week even get away, keep that in mind, rest of the afternoon just assume
12:22 pm
that could be slick out there, but rest of us are in store for additional rain, right through the weekend. your window to enjoy quiet weather is primarily, through the daylight hours of tomorrow , and i do think we will have a few showers, spot any nature around during the day, but that is about the driest, beyond, today, that it will be through sunday. oh, what a ugly looking afternoon here on the boardwalk plaza i saw a few people out here on the beach just before i came on the air here, but hey, whatever floats your boat, i guess but it is a dreer lie to the boardwalk plaza and every where else right now. it is even colder then it was this same time yesterday. we have dropped off 4 degrees in the last 24 hours as that translates to the thermometer in philadelphia, we're at 41. currently mid 40's in at plant i can city. thirty-one in mount pocono. it is chilly. but is what nice is the temperature actually climb, overnight, very backward, here tonight, so we're back in the 60's all weekend long, but the problem is you still need in door plans for sunday with heavier rain all the way. >> okay. >> thanks, katie.
12:23 pm
>> winter storms are taking their toll on wild life, nationwide, and oklahoma ranch ers spotted this bald eagle covered in ice sickles this week as temperatures dropped and ice storm moved n bird could not take flight so game warden moved into warm the bird up. >> this kind of weather is really hard on wild life, of all kinds, and that is the first time i ever had an eag that will could not fly, that was covered in ice. >> wow. >> game warden was able to melt off ice by turning up the temperature in his truck, bald eagle was safely released and returned to its perch, we will be right
